Pretty much. Even with a wife and family, money can buy a lot of opportunities. Women can smell money. You can easily emulate that by just dressing nicely. Disregarding general lunacy of that comment, I am genuinely surprised at the art quality I see in some older VNs. I mean, as soon as digital storage got big enough to hold the high-res art, it was ready and waiting.

If I had to tell a newcomer what year to stop at, I would probably say 2007. There is good stuff before that, but someone just starting out isn't going to be interested in the massive drop in graphics that were standard from 2006 and earlier. Once they learn more, they can dig them out on their own.

Finished euphoria.

It was really great. Didn't expect the last route would be so good. Some scenes were a bit too rough for my taste, but overall I was really pleased with them.

I think people that rate it lowly are those that never actually finished or gave it time to get to the satisfying routes.
