I made a forum post about it nearly a month ago, but I still haven't gotten a reply from GGG nor seen any mention of it being fixed in any patch notes. What do you guys think of my life regen ED Scion build concept for 2.3?:

>boots can get up to 2% life regen from map lab enchant
>6 frenzy charges with blood dance (3% life regen)
>4% life regen from a sulphur flask
>30% increased life regen if you killed recently with DoT from Ascendant Trickster

(13.2+2+3+4)*1.3 = 28.9% life regen if I killed recently and with frenzy charges and sulphur flask up

I plan to have around 7k life so I should have 2k life regen when fully buffed

Do you understand how poison works? Only phys or chaos damage can poison. For you to convert lightning to chaos, you'd have to use something like Voltaxic, which is going to be a incredibly poor choice for Storm Call. You also want less duration for Storm Call so it can feel more instant, and more duration for poison since it scales off duration. So no, your idea is incredibly retarded

I tried to figure out some strong combos, but there isn't much synergy to be found beyond the main 2/3 combos. Leech was the big one for casters.
It will take a while to find a good use for them, and even then it will just be niche builds.

How do I git gud in this? I ran a map with a pretty huge damage modifier to monsters and it was fine except the area boss literally one-hit me which I didn't expect. I'd be mad as fuck if I had just lost a HC character here but I'm not sure how to avoid this without losing a character to pretty much every situation before learning what is deadly.

mines will cast bladefall on any hostiles you see on your screen.

You don't need to fucking aim the mines at moving target or miss cause of desyncs.

bladefall with inc aoe(and the witch's aoe nodes) hit like 80% of the screen as it's aoe, so you can actually ofscreen mobs even though the mine was planted on your feet at the centre of the screen.

Traps need enemies to actually step on every single one of them for full effect (or take the saboteur node, but saboteurs are gimped shit vs occultists).

traps have a 2.40 sec cooldown each even with full talents.

Traps need 4 green gems which means you spend an extra 1700 chromatic orbs on your 6l ES chest, as opposed to mines that use 4blue 2 green. Big issue on starter leagues.

Then again 9-10k ES plus 2-3x vaal discipline(15k+ es and 5000+ uninterruptible regen) lets you survive the most ridiculous shit.

A few glaring issues:

>Lack of Blood and Soul node and efficient life nodes in general. I don't know why you reached so far around to get to the life on kill nodes near Scion as opposed to getting the notable near Shadow and putting the points you've freed up into more life.
>Wussy investment in energy shield, with nodes like that you'll be playing a life build with no real defences.
>Lots and lots of stat nodes. Generally keep these, especially ones you're not using a lot such as Dex to a minimum.
>Large amounts of damage nodes. Essence drain does good easily-scalable damage already.

With a witch anything you're probably going to be better served going CI rather than trying to make a life build work. Not a cancer first attempt, but you have improvement to do.

Why is CA such a no damage piece of shit?

I'm rocking a +3 bow 5-linked with ca+void manip+rapid decay+pierce+lvl4 empower and drillneck and that shit does 11k tooltip dps and 13k with 5 frenzy charges, it's with a lvl 20 CA too

I'm occultist so I get -20% chaos res aura from the ascendancy but thats still horrible damage

Does it not annoy anyone else that Witch is the class that starts with a wand as a weapon, is the closest to the wand clusters, and is thematically the class that would use wands the best but is almost the worst at actually being a wander?

If you're not going CI/LL every class but Templar is better at it than she is. I really wanted to make an Elementalist Wander next league but you essentially throw 6 passive points into the trash for starting with her.

A sparker just goes north and around, you can still get 200% life, 280%ish lightning/spell/projectile damage, 25% cast speed , the pierce nodes, 2 jewel sockets and acrobatics at level 95.

I think Cloaked in Savagery just encourages lazy play in the sense that don't dodge anything and just take damage in the thick of things. What doesn't one shot you will make you immortal theoretically.

OR if you flip the mentality around, you have to know the game REALLY well and gauge the situations in a way that you know taking the hits won't one shot you, which makes for way more active play as you can easily just die outright.

I personally think relying on that Doedre is not the best way to utilize that node unless you're running Harvest, but that's just me.

Yeah I don't see the appeal either. It pretty much forces you to get VP to make the most of it, which foregoes your life regen (all-around useful for mapping and allowing an easy use of BR).

Relying on a Doedre's puts you at -50 chaos res min, which makes chaos degen all the more painful since you have no life regen and you're not CI. And you're wasting a flask slot.

Without Doedre's, this only comes to play periodically from bosses hard hits, making it situational at best. And you pretty much want stun immunity there, because being stunned = not leeching = dying.

So you dou actually get that much out of those 4 points? It seems to me you'd be better off taking Pain Reaver, War Bringer Aspect of Carnage and ironically sticking to a ranged, safe caster playstyle.

Depends on your build/playstyle I guess. I got a 5L 40% life Belly for like 2-3ex in the 2wk race. That's 40% life worth of life nodes (so 6-8 points) I can now allocate into damage nodes, and an extra 30-45 res, plus some armour/evasion, nothing huge but better than nothing. I'd stick to that 5L over a Tabula which only has the benefit of an extra link. It might have a bit more damage, but damage is not what I'm worrying about when I'm farming mid maps

Yes, but the same concept applies to Wither (7% per stack, and it shouldn't take that long to apply at least 5 stacks = 35% increased damage taken by enemies) or Vaal Lightning Trap (Shock = 50% increased damage taken). My point is that you're reserving 35% mana for "only" 33% increased damage taken which doesn't scale with gem level (additional gem levels would only increase AoE for ED).
