my friend and I have added each other on battlenet and we show up for each other in the friends menu in Overwatch, but there's no plus sign next to each other's name to add to a squad or whatever that we've seen in other peoples screencaptures, is this a common bug or something?

the only issue I can think of is I'm in Scotland and she's in Australia, we decided to set our regions to Americas for minimum lag, but under my name is still says "Connected to: Europe"

is there a way to make sure it's changed my region for real?

Alright, after two days of tryharding and getting up to a 56% winrate over 200 games, I'm officially giving up on trying to maintain my winrate until ranked comes out. I just got put in three games in a row where within ten seconds of me joining the game ends, and it ends up counting against me. That's in addition to the non-existent MMR system where I'm seeing level 5 players getting put on my team when I'm level 30.

That being said, I basically played nothing but McCree and Mai for the last two days. Who should I practice now?

I swear to god I check everyone's levels before every game and I've NEVER seen anyone below level 10 on the other team. Somehow I manage to get paired with multiple people below level 8 in a game. Aim, since you can't fall back on splash-damage. Heal-up whenever you get a chance. Turn on friendly health bars so you can see if your team would benefit from a top-up.

Depending on the situation, you might be best sticking to your Reinhardt or being a mid-range guard for flankers and choke-points.

If you're playing against shitters, just run up to them and shoot while jumping a lot.

Not sure if it's ideal, but it's how I do it and it works for me.

A great deal of this game is game sense, which is different enough from TF2's game sense. Playing on medium to high max players servers or instarespawn won't teach you the game sense that you could partially translate into OW. Aiming derusts fast for some (or maybe everyone).

I have played Overwatch on ps4, xbox, and pc.

Your turret is unimportant. It's there to warn you about intruders and get assists on every kill in the game. The only time it really kicks ass is during your ult, at which point it has so much HP you don't need to watch over it. In fact, you should never be watching over your turret, since it only takes about 15 seconds to make a new Level 2 turret.

Now the real reason to play him is his gun. It's a tiny projectile that's affected by gravity, but a headshot does about 140 damage. Considering the fire rate, if you have the distance you can take down any tank except maybe Reinhardt. Alt-fire will fuck over anybody who thinks you're an easy target or a Tracer who thinks she can blink in, take out your gun, and recall. This all gets even stronger during your ult, where you become a tiny ball of pure hatred.

Turret and teleporter placement are key. Find those spots where they cant see the fire coming until too late. Also, be sure to be spamming your charged attack in the general direction of the enemy when yr not placing shit. It goes through shield an you can actually get a kill with it every once in a while.

I've played Mercy for about 9 hours now, over 68 games. I have a 29% win rate with her. I just finished losing my 8th game in a row tonight.

Am I just extremely unlucky or am I really so incredibly fucking awful with Mercy that I actually cause almost every team I join to lose?

I played 12 hours of her in the open beta, I've read guides, I've watched videos, I've analyzed my mistakes, but I just cannot make her work. My average healing is at 4,800 and my average revives at 5. I don't know what to do anymore. Any advice?

Depends. Mercy is a team reliant character. You can heal and res as much as you want, but if your team is shit then you lose. Then again, if you're a shit Mercy then you're not helping your team and they're down one player.

Try playing as some of the other characters for a little while. Helps you get used to when people could use a damage boost and who to prioritise.

They should honestly ban people from playing snipers too often. Like you can't play a sniper 2 games in a row. Its ridiculous how useless they can be
