Use him mostly on KOTH. It's all about staying alive using speed/healing auras and having good movement. Staying alive to contest a point when you're the last alive and 4 people are trying to kill you is pretty intense.

He's great on other game modes too but on KOTH, the team with a Lucio wins.

Most of the time, it's a raw numbers thing. There's some extra factors thrown in for very specific scenarios (Mercy ults + a kill or two will usually net her a PotG and there's special notifications that are onscreen briefly when the PotG is because the player shutdown a play or saved someone's life) but usually it's just killing a bunch of people in the shortest amount of time.

Playing Mercy on a pub is hell. Nobody will protect you or even attempt to stop the guy murdering the shit out of you RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM.

Every time I go mercy half the team decides they want to go flanking classes that I will never fucking see and leaves me and one other guy to handle the entire other team while they are off flanking fucking nobody. There is also a widowmaker somehwere on the map that is allegedly doing something of value despite never killing anyone and just taking up space on the team.

The only way you're going to get any real use out of her is by flying around the map and fucking with the enemies' back line

What I do with Winston is usually try to lead as many people as possible away from my team rather than attracting their attention during a fight

I know my DPS is garbage for anything over 200hp and generally avoid getting into fights where I'm outnumbered since I can be focused down pretty easy

Is D.Va a decent hero for any game or just specific modes? I got all this cool stuff for her that i like and she's pretty fun, but i have no idea how to make her work against half decent opponents. Her ult is pretty nice when your team actually does something with it though.

So since D.Va seems to be the focus here, anybody care to help me figure her out? I've got a pretty good feel for most characters' "thing", what they do best, where they should be on a team, but not her. Her jet doesn't pin like Reinhardt's, her Defense Matrix doesn't last long, and her damage dropoff is huge. She kind of feels like a jack of all trades, master of none.

She's for harassing. Her defense matrix, in addition to her charge, makes her effective at rushing down snipers and at least getting them to fuck off and heal. Her defense matrix has a lot of situational use, and can nullify a lot of ults like Pharah's, Roadhogs, or 76's, or can prevent a Bastion from wiping out your team while you kill him. If you see several opponents, try to kill a low health target and then boost out. Don't hesitate to use boost to escape. Also, be aggressive in zero suit form. If you wait around doing nothing until your mech comes back it would be better for your team if you had died. Play more cautiously after you get to 70% or so, but definitely do not stay out of fights when you're in your suit, your DPS is much better then and you can still out duel a fair number of heroes.

Think of her as a bulky Tracer that focuses more on flanking big groups than isolated or weaker heroes. You're not a full tank like Reinhardt or Roadhog, your goal is to scare people off because none of them can go toe to toe with you. If they start gunning for you, get the hell out of there.

Don't use your guns in long range, don't stand out in the open. Take control of sidepaths and gun down anyone who comes your way. Then when the enemy is distracted, pop out and mow them down. Save your ult for when the enemy can't move, like when they're grouped around a turret or the payload. The goal isn't a team kill, it's massive area denial. It also works great in conjunction with other ults, like 76's. You scatter them, and he picks them off.
