And you can only build a single doomstar (and retrofit it and rebuild it if you somehow lose it)

Howdy friends, crossout closed beta anon here!

here to remind you that crossout is still shit and you shouldnt buy into it! your parts will break down and become nearly useless to you after a handful of lost matches!

i sure hope that the people who object to the current shitty systems don't completely give up and leave the forums, leaving only the hardcore grind-addicts who love to suck game dev cock to give feedback, or the game might still be shit on release!

feel free to try to get a free beta key, though, your feedback will surely help to TURN THE TIDE!

we know, but also we know that not everyone is skilled to make one and reach space with it.

Speaking of reaching spess, how high is spess in /egg/heim? I've spawned satellites at 3.5km and they fall due to gravity
>>
>>140956256
I actually pray every day we'll get mass drivers. In anything, life or games.
>>
>>140956435
Uh the atmosphere should end at 1200m
Space is supposed to start at 1500m and end at 4500m
Beyond 4500m is you think you want to know but you don't

That shouldnt be happening. Maybe the wind is pushing it? Nick confirmed space wind as a feature and that he "has no plans to mess with space wind".
>>
>>140956721
No idea, first time i spawned them, they falled because they were at 1.2km, so i went to Neter, climbed to 3.5km and tried again, and they still falled.

No idea what's beyond 4.5km in /egg/heim, but i've reached 20km while i was pursuing a giant space dildo with my spess fighter and it didn't happen anything

Not back when I used it in like 05/06. It was piss fucking easy and my only gripe was the teacher not giving us the ability to draw feedback from the motors. In hindsight I might have been able to use a touch sensor linked to a cam on whatever the motor is turning so I could get stepper functionality. Later years I had a HS course that used PICAXE 16Fs. I was tearing my fucking hair out navigating by dead reckoning and threatened to buy another PIC and a six axis gyro/accel package to make my own INS to bolt on to the top.

That's actually what the fleet command script relies upon. I want to petition the author to rewrite it modularly to use other methods, especially since they wouldn't require them to merge grids. Currently it works perfectly well for fighter carriers and for scrambling warships docked at a station or shipyard but having to dock your entire fleet to command it isn't feasible. Utilizing beacon based WAN techniques or other exploits would be far more functional and require less hardware on the ship itself than alternatives like laser-based datalinks. And that's only the first step. Already, Warbros destroyers can be scrambled from drydock through a protected hangar unmanned.

Also, I was able to fire up my old Unity modding toolkit and get your full sourcecode. If that worries you, use ConfuserEx on Assembly-CSharp.dll in the <whatever>_Data/Managed directory that Unity shits out. You may need to fuck with the settings a bit if you use reflection, but it should keep most nosy people out.

Except me, I wrote my own deobfuscator for ConfuserEx and am one of the very few people who do. Anyone determined enough can and will get into your code.

>>141027852
Bring utility boats that just carry fuel, ammo, spares, and power and maybe give them a very resource efficient gun (read: slow and small) for personal defence if you're that worried about them. You can even make a refinery ship so you can make fuel from the bones of your foes, but if you do guard it well. It won't kill you to go above 1 fuel per second at 100%, seriously. I would call anything above 20 starting to cost a little too much for early Neter but 5-10 is fine tbqh famuel. You can also split the load between multiple engines.
>>
So, did any of you try to uild ships for Earth approximation world?

All of my ships sink like bricks so far.
>>
>>141028390
>You can also split the load between multiple engines
If you have enough space, you could achieve 5000 power using only 5 fuel/second using those ultraefficient engines

New adventure mode is weird (NB I don't do campaign mode so some of this may be old news)

3rd person camera is disabled and the enemies are completely randomized. The AI screen doesn't display enemy AI cores and enemies spawn several km away, so you don't always know what you're fighting right away.

On my first go-through I fought a Gotha. Built an 18mm gun to take it out but the recoil half-flipped my little bewt and eventually I found myself standing in its line of fire. Reload to just before the Gotha appeared, now the enemy is something by Lightning Hoods, covered me in lasers and wrecked a bunch of my unprotected stuff before I could build smoke deployers.

Also, building in adventure mode is terrible. Working without capslock is like jerking off without any fingers. I'll probably end up making a cheap little hull that I can fill with resource gatherers and storage and cover in dakka, then retrofit the starting boat (which you have to keep) into that

Actually, more kinds of cannons/more customization options would be nice. Like lowering the minimal caliber for nicer small cannons. Bullet customization would also be highly appreciated. Like being able to change size, color of it and maybe change it from energy/plasma to an actual bullet.

My room has a door to an outside part of the house and hearing cats messing around makes me paranoid some times.

I have a potential weapon in every important room. i have a meat cleaver, a meat saw, a fire axe, random tools, and a sledgehammer.

Sometimes i just walk around the house in the dark, looking through the windows or just stalk through the front window that looks to the street.

The other day i saw some homeless woman dig through my trash, i stared at her for about 30 minutes in the dark, she noticed me and ran away.

The "finished" ones are painted black so they're harder to spot coming. They're in the tubes in this image.

I figured the tube was so big from the side that it'd need a REALLY big ship to not seem side heavy, so I just mirrored it and make 2.

I was hoping to use 2 different timer blocks to slightly stagger their launch.

But now the groups don't show up anymore to fire them :S

launch sequences are a pain to do.
In the shagohod i made, it uses a cutter, welder and conveyors as the last cord to cut, they sit on rotors to be at the exact precise position, and can be locked without issues than pistons who fucked up hard after locking it up.
even works with big-small attachment.

Okay, to understand this shit you'se gonna need to learn a few terms:

"Joules" (J) are a measurement of energy. Techy defines a Joule as "equal to the work done by a force of one newton when its point of application moves one meter in the direction of action of the force". You don't need to know that, just remember that it's a "concrete" value, like position or quantity.

"Watts" (W) are a measurement of power. Power is, by definition, measure in energy over time; in this case, Joules per second.

So say you got a battery that can store 10 MJ (10,000,000 J) and a laser that uses 500 kW (500,000 W). That means you can use the laser for 20 seconds (10,000,000 / 500,000 = 20) before the battery runs out. If you got one of them there portable fusion reactors, they provide 75 kW while the battery is draining. This means that the effective power draw of the laser is now 425 kW (500 - 75 = 425) because the fusion reactor will provide 75 kJ every second, while the laser drains 500 kJ every second. In effect, the new time that you can fire your laser is roughly 23.5 seconds (10,000,000 / 425,000 = 23.52941176470588).

tl;dr MORE POWER IS GOOD

So far it has been more fun than Spengies, largely due to smaller worlds (feels more detailed) 'better' enemies, weapons, pvp, and combat, things like farming and my personal favorite, basic structural integrity. You can make out some metal trusses underneath our landing pad, those aren't just for show.

MP is good so far, three of us were playing just now, building together, exploring and raiding other bases. Things aren't too easy like Spengies, in Spengies you can find a single patch of uranium and be 100% set for life, but during this one mission to another planet, we just managed to survive by raiding some fuel cells from an enemy base, and hunting some space spiders for meat.

Well, there's that big flying thing i started to build some time ago (pic related)

And then there's some wooden boats that i don't have pictures yet because they are half-done because sailing AI is kill.
But with the advent of RTS generators, i might use one to make them work without sails. And add ground vehicles as well.
Another thing about those RTS generators, is that they work with crystal, and crystal storage looks similar to phazon storage pods from the metroid prime series, so i think i can draw inspiration from there to make a couple of vehicles.

If you have too much trouble don't feel bad about using paddles. I figure they are fine for the age of sail so long as you make them purposely gimped a little, so as to represent rowers. They also give boats that extra oomph when ramming, as well as a continued pushing that makes rams act as drills. Plus you want a backup for when the wind is not in your favor

Took it out for a spin and shot down some red spaceship, i crippled it but it still had power and when i got close it called for help. took it out with one more torp and then took out some fighter kind of thing with another.
It's actually fun now with these NPC ships that do more than just float around.

How do I attach a small ship block torp to a larger ship?

big-small rotor attach.
Look how goes from a big advanced rotor to a small block conveyor to a small conveyor tube, thats the point, you can also use it to put items inside.

So FTD talk:

It seems to me that the best APS setup is shaped charges?

Even when they detonate on shields a long way out they still deal damage, AND they do the whole "penetrate frag" thing so you can easily core out enemy ammo/aps/particle guns.

HE cans have generally better "DPS" but all of that damage is applied to the exterior armor of the ship, and not to the juicy internals.

Also: are particle cannons the new "fuck your squirrel and fury my boat will rape your face anyways" weapon?
>>
>>141178357
> adding collision/impact sounds for all metal objects
With 60% more CLANG now!

>Connectors now function similar to landing gears
Oh boy, this won't end well.
>>
>>141178891
Shaped charge is best for ship-to-ship. Sabot is best for AA or if you're autistic enough to make something like that WF battleship. If you have the space, it can be good to mix in some HE guns, if only to crack open armor for the shaped charge to get inside.

I haven't messed with particle cannons all that much, they seem like more versatile lasers to me.
>>
>>141178891
Good luck hitting ammo/AI with shaped charges while the target moves. And you'll have to use high caliber, because pen metric is everything,
>>
>>141179554
Laser is best for AA because any air that you care about fighting is ether the "fucking suirrel" type or the "literally 300m/s" type and lasers are the best against both. A decent sized lasor system will push though smoke and eventually snipe a custom jet segment sending the whole thing into the water.

>>141179721
I use a 200mm 2m long round that goes just over 260m/s and it hits moving things just fine? I remove the "aimpoint' card so it targets random blocks and it makes WF ships go up in smoke easily.
>>
>>141178891
Particle is kinda laser shotgun. So, if you fight at cram range, its great.
>>
>>141180075
It is also a "literally no counter" sniper so if you want to hurt the 100% smoke flying fuckhead ships in the game it is also great.

Some of the ships in this game man...
>>
>>141180041
>random blocks
Honestly, I don't find heat frags useful, because they require different settings for different ships.
Max pen metric is more universal, but does only 5% to blocks in line, except for ammo/AI.
>>
>>141180241
A weapon that can miss a bulwark at medium settings when 1km+ is not a sniping weapon.
>>
>>141180576
Your slider-fu is shit anon.

The new meta ships are basically "fuck all weapons but particle, just fuckign floating death star laser hitscan murder machines"

Sure, when made to a sniper its DPS per block sucks, but that doenst' matter because it always hits, you can block it, and it has crazy range.
>>
>>141180868
And when hit, it can shoot your own ship. And it has no way to protect the firing piece.

250mm shaped charge spam will very quickly render all enemy weapons useless. If it doesn't destroy something important in the weapon itself, then it will either pop the turret or destroy the lwc. I tested pic related, which is still unfinished, on a Bulwark. After about 20 seconds, the only working weapons were the ones on the opposite side of the superstructure.

Battletech mechs and simple other mechs like Glaugs, Guntanks and Regulds are possible through un-fucking gyros, the existing 'keep-upright' gyro script, and the mapping mod that allows you to map shit to joypad and mouse axis as well as basic keystrokes. So already you can recreate Mechwarrior gameplay with little more than the liberal application of proper mods and scripts.

Do you do this:

f(){

or:
f()
{
}

second one is degenerate

I've recently started using hinges instead of awkwardly placed rotors in spengies, but suddenly it feels like hinges are less durable and don't quire respect the rotation limits. If you actually place blocks on them to prevent them going above 90 degrees, they keep trying to push it and generate a shitload of lag. It's nice to be able to chain them and create much stronger links than with rotors, but is it possible to do anything with the limits problem?

We don't even know about the cost or tech requirements of a rapid inserter - you're guessing blindly.
Assuming the stack size bonus remains unchanged, the same tech gate would also apply to current train setups - thus, a moot point.

Further, one could argue that these barriers become irrelevant once you've reached the point where train loading (be it on- or offloading) speed becomes an issue.
>>
>>141265376
The fact that two better types of inserters are already gated from other ones, I am free to assume rapid inserter probably be even further into tech tree.

So any player playing scenario where he will need train transportation before being able to afford researching and producing in decent quantities the rapid inserters will be thoroughly fucked.

A single blue inserter can keep up with a wire assembler's needs until it hits crafting speed 1.2.
Assuming your wire assemblers have 1 input and 2 output inserters, the item transfer rate doesn't become an issue before you use T3 assemblers or modules.
So what's preventing you form using the rapid inserter in place of blue inserters with stack bonus?

This means that the moment a rapid inserter leaves the green chip assembler, there's enough material for at least 2 batches.
The inserter will then turn around, and grab all 12 wires in one handful.
Only worry then, is if the rapid inserter turns slower than the blue ones.

You're getting upset over what appears to be an insignificant change in your environment.

my missile is so long (175 blocks) that it literally produces graphic glitches

Sadly, it will take three ticks for green assembler to chug all copper wire.
From one of two rapid inserters supplying it with copper wire. And another four to clear the second one.
Which means that assembler connected by one inserter, as in usual 3:2 setup, will be kinda clogged most of the time, decreasing the throughput.

compensating for something? like your massive (You) collection

>If being precise is autistic, i'd take it any and every day.
No it's being unable to accept real fact over the incorrect intuition produced by disfunctional brain.
The assembler chockes at 15 wires. The input is locked at 12.

for two rapid inserters to fully unload into working green circuit assembler it takes 8 ticks
wire factory chokes at 7th
>>
>>141279283
oh, even better, it chokes at sixth, since it can't be fully cleared.

are you retarded?
I have been taught only basic integrals yet i know how to do this shit.

3/380000 can be moved to the front
expand the rest out

x3 + 2(x2)(y2) + y3
integrate with respect to x

yes :(
but building several hundred meter long missiles in ftd is actually fun
