Don't know if this is obvious or dumb or actually helpful, but if you want fast land vehicles in FtD you need downward thrust on the front bits.

That might also help with handling rough terrain.

with gyroscopic effect you can soften the weight of something in its front part, in cars, mostly fwd cars, you do this by going full gas on something, because it rises the front part.
If the game has that kind of physics, you can also do it with rockets, if not, it will be like spengines, it will soften the weight of everything.

That's weird. I'm setting up ACBs to self-right the bus the way I do manually, by firing a broadside into the dirt, but for some reason even if I take the range limit off entirely only one side is actually getting triggered by "Weapons Systems -> Fire Weapons".

Not recreated the stop sign mechanism you had, but now can bumblefuck its way around this terrain in a hilariously violent manner, only occasionally getting stuck (usually because the AI rolls it again the moment it gets back up).

Oh man turns out I saved an earlier version. Finally got my game working. I added a thing too, a lil egg turret. It has an autocannon on it and I made the truck "amphibious" with a speed of 1.8 m/s which I think is fine. The autocannon doesnt even end up depleting the ammo reserves it refills so cheaply. It's "battle competent" now, or at least it should be. Let me know what you think. Theres no roof roller.

No sweat, the changes I made a pretty straightforward; dropped the wheels, made more of the underfloor lead to keep the CoM low (this helps immensely with it not rolling itself when firing upright), and set up a few ACBs for the self-right. Probably don't even need to copy across the last one.

Is clang still a issue? Does ships still warp and you get random damage in Multiplayer?

I like the egg turret. Lost some of its bus shape, though; kinda like a Mk2 upgrade of it. I started working on a Big Rig for another sorta salvaged-y, slightly more capable land vehicle. Might see if this variant can be tweaked to fill some middle ground.

Does for me, alas. Put it into combat mode, spawn another bus or something owned by another factor. They'll drive into range of each-other, then give up moving, like the AI switches to broadside mode and promptly decides there's nowhere deep enough to go. Playing with the broadside sliders doesn't seem to change this much, though. Forcing the throttle up doesn't work entirely either; sometimes they give up steering too and just drive off into oblivion.

So I'm trying to recreate some WW2 shit in FtD and I've been struggling all day with building some propeller planes. I guess it doesn't help that I don't really know how to properly build a plane in the first place. Pic related is my current try at a Zero, it's gotten to the point where I can at least keep it in the air with a lot of work, but it's nowhere near stable.

Biggest problems are that it never levels out and always makes loopings while in motion. Do I need to build bigger? Drop authenticity and add jet stabilizers or something?

Unfortunately the aerial AI is a bit of a shitter and will throw the controls from one hard extreme to the other. You can increase the "angle before we turn" to give it a bigger deadzone, and you can try to tune a PID to smooth it out (although I have had no luck getting anything flyable as a result). Or you could go hit up the game's Lua subforum for a better AI, but you lose waypoint and stance support for doing that the moment.

So turns out that the game just always shows whatever default keyboard layout it uses instead of adjusting for different regions, so whenever I hit the key for forces, it actually did nothing because that wasn't the right key. Quality code.

I love when game devs whip out stupid shit like "total registered users" like theya re proud of it.

If your games been going for several years, of course its going to have a high amount of registered users. But how many actually stay and play every day? They get mad as fuck whenever you bring up stuff like steam stats showing that their playerbase has been slowly dwindling and then dropped by like 30% in the last month or so, and then after this update its going to drop further.

Its the same as when theres a huge fucking problem with something, and the people in charge say "Its just a very vocal minority of people complaining. :^)", trying to just sweep the problem under a rug.

yes, it was very obvious that even the level 1 assemblers put out lots of gears quickly. i was noticing that using all the L1s for gears from the iron plates was actually eating all of them, none getting to green sci production. admittedly because:

You just need to build double as many pumps (for the same amount of engines), that's all. Considering they're piss cheap to build and free to operate, it's a marginal loss. So yes.
The reasoning behind that ratio is that 1 offshore pump provides enough water for 10 steam engines (60 water/s, double that of an electric pump), which in turn requires 14 boilers to heat from 15 to 100 degrees.

Flow stays constant through a pipe unless you have massive flow or fucklong pipes.
In Factorio, flow between two pipes depends mostly on how full they are relative to each other (pressure), where larger pressure gradient means larger flow.
If there's throughput issues (whether it's for a pipeline or a belt), you'll find that the input end is full, while the output end is near-empty. Realistically, you'll never experience this with a pipe.

This lead to Chinese poopsockers conquering one server and then using it as a farm world to grind out resources to upload to use to take over another server to do the same thing. I'm not joking nor am I being racist. I didn't believe it until it happened to our server. Fortunately, literally the entire non-chinese population (griefers, trolls, tryhards, cool people, and autists alike) rose up and fought back over a period of three real life days, finally managing to destroy the chinese base (which was fucking actually unnerving. It had extremely narrow hallways which opened into giant rooms with vaulted ceilings. It was like being in a beehive and reminded me of the underhive in Hive cities in 40k or City 17's capital building in Half-Life 2) out of the server with mere hours to spare. Unfortunately a long server peace coupled with a clan of pubbie spergs with aimhacks eventually brought down the great Oceania.

I hear you man, it was a magical summer, but I promised myself I'd never play it again.
That died from player loss and the general got to that point many generals do where they turn to shit because they are desperately trying to stay alive. Admins tried to force drama on the server, then real drama happened. Before it even got to that point the player count was dwindling, having gone through I think two private servers? In the end it just sorta exploded on itself with no one really being interested enough to play, due to slow and useless updates.

Thier crafting system is also shit. Hvaing to give up 2 pieces of equipment from one tier to craft a single part in the next tier. And with 4 tiers by time you craft a part that is "legendary" youve sacrificed close to 10 perfectly good parts. And all those parts had to be crafted with workbenches that you paid money to "rent", and hours upon hours upon hours of grinding to gather supplies, which also just wears down your part durability.

Its a never ending grind made to jew the ever living fuck out of you.

Considering the massive fucking shit storm that happened during PS2's construction dev period, it's safe to say that PS2 will be legitimately dead in 3-6 months. I absolutely do not see any way they still have coders around, or modellers, or artists. The dev team probably is dick-in-ass monkeys at this point.

That said, construction is by itself a fine thing, if there were only infantry fights running around it would be completely balanced.
The problem is all the fucking vehicles that will be pulled and utterly fucking stomp even a seriously well-built base. You can pull fancy tricks like putting modules inside shelters, and alternating wall heights and placement to avoid buying a shield generator...
But ultimately, a full platoon pulling MBTs will utterly fucking stomp everything you build no matter the setup/location used.

if you lose too many matches your parts start to degrade. some parts are indestructible by default, like the outer pieces you slap onto the car. important pieces like the cabin, weapons, generator, accessories, etc. have a durability score, say 20/20. so after 20 lost matches the part is "broken".

you can actually still use "broken" parts but they have 1hp and having them equipped cuts your xp earnings

to repair an item you need basically need to buy or craft the same item to suck durability points out of, or rather just use the new item till it too breaks. when you break 3 same items you can craft them together to get another working item!

this also applies to parts that people have purchased with real money. it really does mention this on the store page, but naturally little kids whining to their parents to buy them madmax video game tank dont read the fine print

its a fucking disaster of a system because naturally this is attracting a lot of the wot/war thunder crowd, and in those games when you unlock something or buy something YOU KEEP IT without complex and annoying repair planning

1. Set up nuclear fuel production. Get that hexafluorine to 4.7%, everything else is waste.
You'll need at least 3 fuel assemblies for 72MW reactor with one turbine.

2. Place the reactor core.
3. Place stem generator with one of it's balls touching the core.
4. Fill core with pressurized water to 1.5k units. Hot leg of steam gen should get full too. Disconnect water supply.
5. Place big reactor pump. Arrow must face the reactor, and side connect to steam gen.
6. Fill cold leg tank of steam generator with fresh water. Disconnect water supply.
7. Get two offshore pumps and storage tank of cold water where turbine will be.
8. Place turbine, connect your water pipe to big tank, and small tank to steam gen cold leg.
9. Done.
10. If you want to add second turbine on another side, don't forget to put more fuel in reactor.

Its funny because their most expensive pack, the $50 one with the tank and the 100mm cannon totally fucks people over.

The 100mm cannon is a "legendary" weapon. So its going to take literally WEEKS of playing to be able to build another 100mm when the one in their $50 pack breaks.

But then their cab, tank tracks, and XP bonus items will also degrade too. The whole fucking thing will need replacing after a bad streak of losses.

This is how my games look like. They deliberately put me always to a team that has no chance to win instead of properly balancing the teams. In other games the enemy team has all rails and I still have to do most of the work.
In another match I had 27 kills but we lost because there was too much cover and the team didn't bother to do anything.
First I tried to play flak+rails hover but I had no way to affect the game if the other team was massively overpowered. They were just walking casually into the base and I couldn't keep up with killing them.
