Soft cap for FP increases in attunement is like 35.

Now look at a dex build. You can easily have 39 vigor, 24 endurance, 20 vitality and 40 dex at level 80 or so. Any melee build completely outclasses any caster build based on stats alone at level 80. The fact that spells use stamina makes them so much more stat intensive, not to mention their softcaps being 60.

I'm saying based on stats alone. Casters are heavily disadvantaged. Going to 120, lets them at least have the health and stamina to fight while also hitting their damage soft caps and not running out of mana too quickly.

He has like 20 different attacks so I never know what the fuck to even do, sometimes he follows up into a combo and sometimes he doesn't, he's got those fucking homing crystal mass active that always fires off and leaves one fucker behind to fire when I least expect it and stagger me, if I run off to estus he has a 50 yard sprinting attack and if I dare to get 2 hits in on I'm rather than 1 he follows up with a spin to win / wog

I pre-ordered DSIII and haven't been able to play it yet due to the joys of 15 fps that sometimes peaks at 25.

I got a Radeon HD 6850 GPU, it should handle the game fine, but neither From Software or AMD have released a patch/drivers or anything to fix the issue. I did get a stable 30fps on windowed 800X600, but fuck this.

What weapon hits like a truck, but isn't an ultra weapon?

I mostly want to co op and help people. But I'm still not the best. So when I use an ultra weapon, I'm almost always trading blows. I want to practice playing the game so I can GIT GUD, but I need something that isn't an estoc or straight sword.
Also that isn't Bleed. I don't want to have to rely on tricks, especially if I can't end up getting off a bleed. I want to git gud.

Alright, how the fuck do people do dancer as their second boss? I know it's optional this early, but I see phantoms all the time.

I've killed defiled watchdog in BB at lvl 4, but killing the dancer at like 600 health with a +1 weapon just seems impossible.

i figured out what it was now in regards to 1, i noticed that the +AR of the weapon didn't change when you 2hollowed, it's because it only shows the "hard stat" bonus, not the practical bonus. at +10 hollowed gotthards and 40/40/30 deal a slight bit more damage than refined, but will be given even more if you 2hollow(or go 40/40/40)


i tested this out on the hollows on the outside of firelink, i unequipped my shield and even if the bonus AR was the same so did i around 6 damage less than with it equipped (the AR it claims is 190+207, the damage i did was 369, when i had it equipped i did 375 damage, but with the same +207.

I did my first playthrough using a straight sword up to Pontiff and then switching to a BKG and then using a BKGA at the end and now for my 2nd playthrough, I'm using a Dragonslayer Swordspear and I still haven't really gotten the hang of things. So basically Dragonslayer Swordspear is my favorite weapon ever and I want to make a build for it. I would imagine that dex/faith would be ideal for it, but I'm not sure what stats to pump. Do I just go 39 Dex and put the rest into Faith? Or should I leave it at base Faith and put those stats elsewhere? Works with every boss with NPC summons. You can get to end of the game that way with s1 unupraded weapon as long as you can roll and have patience because the NPCs can takes their sweet time to cut up the boss.

anyway faith is only good for the lightning scaling and the falling bolt damage. nobody with a brain gets hit with falling bolt so it's great in invasions and I'm not certain if faith boosts the lightning infuse it gets, but dex will be your main stat for a swordspear build

Partial parries are shit. I'm fine with taking full damage, I'm also fine with taking increased stamina drain, but NOT BOTH AT THE SAME FUCKING TIME. There's also the very common issue where a successful parry also registers as a partial so you don't even have enough stamina left to riposte and for the life of me I can't figure out how such shit made it through testing.

I was sort of ambivalent on the way partial parries worked at first but after spending more time in PVP and seeing how mindless and efficient R1 spam is, I can't look at the current state of things as anything more than a huge fuckup.
