The only point where I couldn't understand something was the second Krishna fight right at the beginning because he got really quiet while the music was pretty loud.
Japanese is very easy to understand in video games.

Playing Nocturne for the first time, Daisoujou is really pissing me off. I never had this much trouble with Matador. I'm level 28 and don't have Fog Breath, nor the patience to grind for it as I've barely used the ice magatama. Expel/death aren't too much of a problem, I've got two demons with Tetraja, three chakra drops and three tetraja stones. Yet still, I've died to him five times now. The most recent time, it actually wasn't looking too bad until he fucking spammed Preach and charmed everyone. Would I be able to get through with a bit of luck at this point or do I need to suffer through more preparation?

I don't have access to any of the fiends. This is 4th playthrough on neutral (my 2nd time running through all the routes, plan on completing compendium before Apocalypse comes out) and I'm just grabbing every special fusion I can at each level. I have all demons in my compendium from the other routes and I just need to do all the grinding bullshit for fiends and fusion accidents on this playthrough plus the dlc fights.

Also this is my build for this run. Mahama absolutely destroys shit in Shinjuku. Looking forward to KO bullets and Occult Flash. I'm probably gonna give the MC Cold World as well when I fuse King Frost.

The SFC version of MTII has awful sound; it's just sampled sounds like all other SFC games, there's no special chip in that cart. They were trying to ape the amazing soundchip that's in the Famicom game, and some tracks do it better than others. Do yourself a favor and YouTube the Famicom soundtrack, it's fucking awesome. I posted a track I recorded from my Fami in the last thread.

Anyone know how to get past the White Rider Fiend without beating him? I'm not asking for help or tips to beating him, I just need to fuse something so I can beat him.

I can't seem to get out of any Terminals without fighting him though.

Alright, I'm near the end of SMT1. Still liking it even if the quality kind of drops after Roppongi. That being said, what was the point of the neutral hero fighting the Four Heavenly Kings? It's necessary to finish the game, but the only thing that points you in that direction is Chaos Hero basically just saying it would be cool if you were stronger than them and Law Hero being Law Hero. I get that the gameplay hint was "hey, they're both saying do it," but I don't get why he would do it in the first place after hearing Law Hero say that it would help his side and bring a catastrophe.

It may just be the translation but this part's always stuck out as really hamfisted to me.

Yeah White rider shows up at every terminal. When it gives the whole "do you want to stay here, are you sure?" thing, say no. Supposedly there's a small chance of you being able to get out of the battle that way. If you unlocked Mifunashiro's terminal, I heard you can try to get around him that way as well by teleporting there and then walking to Asakusa for the Cathedral.

Giten basically is. H-scenes, lot of demons are just topless women, infamous gore scene early on, heavier subject matter in general, etc.

It's also one of the better written Megami Tensei games in general and has a really good story. It's a shame there's no effort to translate it.

I have a feeling the translation will be too big for the mapper like MT1's is.
