I main Frost because I'm a Canadian, but mostly because she's OP as fuck.

I have only ever seen Kapkans trap kill 3 people - One was myself. One was the first day I got the game someone tripped one. The other two kills were during the glitch period that would make the laser invisible - tripped one of these traps because I didn't know it was a thing. Cleared a doorway, looked for the laser, didn't see shit, BOOM. People would rarely trip it, but it would happen. Still didn't make him useful enough to be a staple but it actually made him useful enough to pick once in awhile.

But the game is horribly balanced - yet Ubisoft wants to "preserve" the balance for esports. If you are going to throw caution to the wind and have about 8 of your 22 operators be pure dogshit, why even bother selling the game as competitive or having meta.

Frost is so out of touch with their own game it's laughable. The fact they gave her a fucking WW2 era SMG just shows they don't really care about making a serious game.

If it is a help to anyone, I actually found out the exact names of all the gear that that the Spetsnaz units wear. If anyone was planning on doing an airsoft kit based off Siege.

Vest- Fort 2 Defender, Tachanka's vest has a velcro on groin protector, Glaz doesn't wear an armored vest.

Ammo Harness- SPOSN Smersh vest. Glaz has an SVD Smersh and the rest have an AK Smersh.

Uniform- All wear a Gorka E uniform. Fuze's is in Partizan Summer pattern camo, Glaz's is in Partizan Fall camo. Pretty sure Kapkan has Partizan Summer pants and a OD pattern top, not sure about Tachanka but I think he wears Partizan Summer.

Headgear- Glaz has a Russian balaclava and beanie. Not sure about his headset. Fuze's helmet is either a ZSh 1-2M without the visor or a K6-3 without a visor. I'm pretty sure the piece that covers the lower half of his face is based off a motorcycle helmet. Tachanka wears a Maska 1 helmet with visor. Kapkan wears a Partizan Summer camo kapkan sniper hood.

Basically all of these pieces can be found at www.grey-shop.ru a complete spetsnaz kit is around 550 USD, but Glaz is a bit cheaper at around 300.

It doesn't make her gadget much worse, but it makes the trapped players gameplay be more than laying around waiting. As a guy who uses Frost at every opportunity I'd have absolutely no problem with it. And in a game so reliant on sound I'd be okay with a gadget that just made the enemy loud as fuck. With her C4 and shotty it'd still make her a great pick.

If the attackers don't know how to enter a room, they're not clearing the doorway against that.

The danger isn't the guys on the other side of the barricade. The danger is the guys flanking you when you tell everyone you're busy knocking on a barricade. The point isn't to keep someone from entering a room completely, it's to slow their entrance down(12 hits instead of shooting the barricade a couple of times while trying to hit the people inside as well, or using up supplies that then can't be used on other walls) because the attackers are on a timer and the defenders are not.

You might as well claim mute is useless because thatcher exists, meaning that it just slows the attack down.

You only need to punch one hole in a wooden barrier for it to become dangerous to the defenders. Punch a whole in every window on say, Consulate, either office, and the defenders now have a whole lot more to watch. This comes up on House too, but with the added danger of the high ground attackers can get to snipe through even a small hole.
Moreover, it's not about shooting the attackers, it's about increasing the risk involved when they try to shoot you. They'll always be going for that peeker's advantage, which makes them predictable. It's the same as CS where CT doesn't defend so much as they counter-attack.

One melee on a barrier you suspect hostiles will be watching. Going back for the second hit is almost certain to get you killed if someone's watching. If you need to break one down, melee once if possible, and shoot it down otherwise. That's if you only want to spend time rather than use up a breaching charge.

Why on earth would you continue attempting to push through a doorway after receiving fire from it? The defenders have positional and cover advantages on you unless you're a shield. That's just going to get you killed.

The clock doesn't get run down because they actually don't have enough time. It's because the attackers are wasting time being timid and dicking around not pushing when the should be. I maintain that counterplay still exists for this, since if I'm playing a tech-heavy operator like Jaeger I wait on playing my ADS until at least 30 seconds into the round, since most Thatchers will drop an EMP on roof by then. Mind you, this is personal conjecture. Don't take this as an argument based on anything but personal experience. It's an interesting counterpoint, so I included it.

Who would we be swapping out for? Even if his barriers don't work out, Castle still does have one of the best shotguns in the game. I'm at 1.3K/D and 1.6W/L , I have rounds where I get my crosshair and aim right so that I can line up headshots and I notice roamers that move around me. But other rounds I don't hear anything, get headshot-killed by blindfiring dudes, die to hipfire-headshots from shields and can't get a decent hit on anyone. How can I improve?

The only thing Ash needs to worry about after castle barricades are deployable shields. In all likelihood, except for hostage, ash is going to be rocking breach charges anyways, and interior walls you will almost never need to use ash's launcher.
