I can wear virtually any armor with no penalty but things like havels on the sorceror starting class with no investment into vitality at all.

I got one small , fast, noob question.
I play with knight(im relatively new to DaS games in general and Im kinda intimidated by all this internet talk about how game is really difficult etc.. so I took what internet told me is best class for beginners and I play as beginner).

Anyway, im still on High Wall of Lothric , there is one dragon who is bursting fire if i come close. On other path there is one of those undeads who turned into similar crap Ludix turned), I killed him and he droppped bow.
I raised DEX by 2 point so i can use bow properly and Im guesing that bow should be used to kill that dragon?!

But this is not my main question, I got Long Sword as starting gear and I like it as a weapon but it's kinda weakish.. So , my question is should I spend shards to upgrade Long Sword(to +1,2,3...) or is some better weapon(that is good for sword'n'board cookie-cutter build) right behind the corner.
Im asking this because I feel that enemies have too much HP, fights last too long(10 hits to kill basics enemy is too much, its not a problem to kill them, its just boring and it lasts too long, so i feel that i dont deal enough damage in point of game im in),
i take around 80-100 damage per hit and those basic undead enemies have at least 1000hp.
What is natural next sword for Knight(or weapon in general) and where it is, or should I just upgrade Long Sword..??
