Any interesting yet viable weapons for pvp?

Just got the gargoyle flame hammer, the base stats seem good and its got the regular titanite upgrade path, only downside is non buffable.

Mannekin claws might be good if the bleed gets applied quickly

Are Watchdog invasions somehow tied to what manner of gear you have? Because I have max +2 weapons, I'm not SL30 even, I've had the covenant on for hours upon end, I've tried restarting the game to ensure that the servers are up and running.

Nothing works. I've gotten 2 invades today, and that's a total of 2 invades in 84 hours played on this game basically.

And if you invade as a WoS, you find more worlds where an invader is so you can co-op with them to kill the host.

That said, it does get annoying when the host summons multiple times during the fight, especially cause my summoning never works that consistently.

I have a video on my PS4 of fighting a host and two phantoms with one other invader and I killed the phantoms, I kid you not, three times each and the host kept resummoning them. Actually on the third time, one phantom just said fuck it and black crystaled out.

It's way too easy to avoid attacks as a host by just running away.

What is a good weapon to catch runners? I was barely having success even with Dragonslayer Spear.

You don't need to kill them. They come to your world to kill someone, either a friendly phantom, a red phantom, or the host. They need to score the killing blow and then they get their item and leave.

Supposed to be the 'wild card', but every one I've ever summoned just waves or bows then acts friendly till the first enemy, then they backstab me as I fight it and taunt me.

Literally no reason to bother outside of fight clubs. Maybe if they got more creative people wouldn't see them as cancer summons. But as it is now, they don't play sneaky or keep you on edge, you immediately get attacked by them when you turn around.

I never really got into PvP in DaS2, but played a heap in DaS. One thing I've noticed with invasions now in DaS3 is that a lot of hosts are little bitches who disconnect as soon as they see an invader or start to lose a fight. I've had countless hosts disconnect during the finishing riposte animation.

The watchdogs covenant is so poorly thought out, it's got a narrow window of time when it's usable and there's absolutely no reason to go back to its area once you've gotten through it. If it was at least an optional area you might have a bit more range in the levels of players there but unless they did the Cathedral first they're still only going to be in the 20's.

The game developers decided to focus on their pissing off aspect, the ones and worst you could do to a person, in a game, and jam it all there for the sake of pissabekab.
Taking out the difficulty, the game is more of less four hours, give or take.

Try comparing the AR between a Sharp and a Refined Lucerne in the infusion menu.

If the STR scaling is close enough to the DEX scaling, it might actually be better off with Refined. This was the case when I was infusing my +10 Drang Twinspears. Even though it had more DEX scaling than STR, the STR scaling was still about one letter grade away from matching the DEX scaling, so evening them out actually made my weapon stronger than increasing the DEX scaling would have. I think Lucerne might work the same way.

Most of the bosses in DS3 are total shit, so that's not saying much. Nameless King is one of the only bosses I think can hold up to other good bosses of the series, with others being the princes, Old Demon King and Soul of Cinder. Pontiff would be on the list if his second phase wasn't so damn easy because of how much his aggression is dialed back.

I actually jumped down from the path to that covenant just to get here (accessed it from that ladder on that tower with the fire crossbowman), it leads nowhere new and you can't even get back on the path without going all the way around again.

Fighting two people isn't that bad, I almost always win in this scenario. My favorite move is to start acting like I am scared and sprint away while keeping the camera on them. Almost every time the phantom fuckbuddy chases me and gets a sudden 180 in the face followed by the anti-estus thingy. When it's 3 or more just black crystal the fuck out of there, it's faster to invade a different world than waste time trying to get the host.

Yeah I had trouble with this too. You have to go up that one elevator that goes up to that guy with the crossbow near the outside of the cathedral then you go out on the ledge and turn left, there should be a path around the corner that leads to a ladder. Climb it and go inside, drop down to the left of the first greatsword knight. Keep going after that and it becomes obvious.

I beat him first try too, but I was probably way overlevelled for it, because I was able to almost finish off his phantom before it was even done spawning. SL60 with a +6 Refined Broadsword seemed reasonable for mid-late game.

There is no non viable weapon class for pvp right now. Anyone that tells you otherwise is retarded.

The "worst" pvp weapons right now are greathammers, greatswords, vertical UGS, and fist weapons. Even then you can be successful with them.

I get that it would be hard to let people just take over any kind of monster because of camera, controls and all that. But maybe they could have you be able to control up to 1-3 preset ones per zone.

Just a rough idea but I think such a covenant could be a shit ton of fun. The enemies could have a slightly black aura to them and spawn on top of whatever is usually there.

From have completely lost it. Poise is worse in this game than it was in DaS2, unless you are wearing a full heavy set with 35+ VIT you will be instantly broken by any weapon in the game ONE HANDED.

If hyper armor actually did what it was supposed to do, it still wouldn't be an adequate placement for base numbers when you take into account lag and the hugely varying swing speeds of weapons in this game.

The BB babies won. Dark Souls combat has totally devolved into "spam faster than the other guy".
