I had a weird thing happen after using some cracked red eyes. I had "accidentally" fallen to my death while invading, and ended up losing my souls? When I went to where I fell and picked up my souls, I only got 99. I had 40k at the time...

Do enemies stop dropping items after farming them for awhile? I was farming the dog things at the keep ruins for WoF tokens and they stopped dropping items after awhile. Bad luck or was that a change?

So, as for the appearance of Anor Londo in Irrithil, what the fuck happened? One key note I made was that the Painting Cathedral was gone; completely. Did they destroy the Painted World and in the process cause it to leak out into their surroundings? I mean, the wall is GONE, as with Duke's (the highest point of DaS1), and other nearby areas such as Sen's but those can be written off with the turning of the years. What of Lothrick? Why is that so high up? Did Lordran fall in the literal sense, sinking into the ground like what happened with the Iron King's Palace? Did King Lothric do some space magic and swap the locations of Anor Londo and Lothric Castles?

I'm playing from the perspective of someone who JUST got there, so if there's something ahead that explains it, tell me that there's something ahead that explains it. I'm seriously expecting that I'm going to walk into the Ornstein and Smough boss room and Crestfallen will be sitting at the opposite end of a long table filled with DaS1 and DaS2 characters and ask us why we keep coming back just to die again, HM2 Richard-style.

Myth.

People don't understand that damage absorption has two stats for any kind of melee attack. Physical damage absorption, and then an additional slash/blunt/stab damage absorption. These two are added together for the total % of absorbed damage.

In the case of full silver knight (and 19 vitality, since that adds overall physical damage absorption as well) I get over 50% (total) damage absorption for each of the 3 melee styles. In the case of using, say, painted guardian robes, the absorption is around 17% for each.

So for simplicities sake, a pure melee attack with a damage value of 1000 would be reduced to 500 for the silver knight player, but only 830 for the painted guardian player

To add onto this, this is also why elements are viable in Dark Souls 3. While it's not always a good idea to split your damage, element resistance is covered much less by armor, and is highly governed by stats.
