Why is the game so linear and unconnected? One of my fondest memories was going into new londo and getting destroyed by the ghosts, in DaS 3 you literally can't go the wrong way.

Also does this mean you can't jump in and throw together a new build like you could in DaS? I'm not very far in but this seems to be the case, since you can only go one way and literally can't progress without killing bosses and stuff.

Early on, Greatclub. Large becomes better later on due to higher scaling. Greatmace is abysmal. Its stats are low so it does fuck all damage and there's nothing you can do to fix that.

Most great hammers are shit because their damage is too low, they have useless weapon arts and the combined weight/stamina costs/requirements are far too high to be worthwhile. The big clubs are decent because they have the warcry art instead of the dogshit perseverance one, but they're still not great.

So what's the most retarded rooms you guys have encountered? For me it was the one outside of the giant boss. There was two stone gargoyles and about 12 pyromancers all standing in one room guarding two chests that were both mimics.

How the fuck is anyone supposed to handle all of that without range exploiting?

This game seems to constantly throw way too many enemies at you in too small of spaces, it's the type of difficulty no one ever wanted for these types of games.

The devs heard our complaints about DK2 not being an interconnected world. Instead of having a bonfire at the end of zones now they just have NPCs you can talk to, and gargoyles to fly you away. Who are these guys trying to fool? I want my sweet sweet Dark Souls 1 interconnectivity.

It just doesn't fucking work. It worked with BB because you could just go mad and mash R1 and if you got hit then chances are you'd get the health back anyway for playing aggressively.

Has anyone tried the hollow infused weapons yet? I heard bleed and poison scale with luck, but will a weapon still keep its poison/bleed effect once it's been infused?

Apparently, the cracked version of the game has an online fix by REVOLT. It's included in the mercs repack and skidrow updated their version with it as well. It works on all versions of the game and allows online play with others using the fix. Set password to RVT to allow other users to summon you, ect.

They're the invasion reward, so you have 5 tries to succeed twice. There's a single tongue in the Undead Settlement by the big fire dude if you only manage to win 1 out of your 5 invasions. If you lose all 5, you have to wait until the swamp, where dark wraiths can be farmed for them.

CREO are consumed if the host plugpulls or crosses a fog gate while you;re in a loading screen, so don't expect to actually get a single invasion before your 5 chances are up.

Hollow boosts the poison/bleed slightly (by 1 or 2 points, mostly). It also grants you bonus luck when you hold the weapon based on your current hollowing stat, maxing at +5 luck, I believe.

Despite that, there's still only a couple weapons in the game that actually work well with the luck infusion. The impact that luck has on bleed/poison is also trivial so there's pretty much nothing a luck build does right now that another build doesn't do better.

Purple is kind of fun. You have to keep an eye on them because they could turn on you at any minute.

What's their reward structure? Do they get something for killing the host and killing a boss? Or just one or the other? I've been killed by a couple and they glowed for a second like they got some kind of bonus. Maybe that was just their ember restoring though.

Also can purples fight each other? I haven't tried having two at once.

Don't even bother. Nobody stays in the WoB that far into the game because you get covenants like the sentinels and watchdogs thrown at you for free as soon as you leave the settlement. Blue activity is effectively 0 beyond the first Frost Knight, and especially dead at higher levels.

If you want to actually use the dorkmoon covenant, you'll have to make a dedicated twink character, keep your weapon at +3 and play through the game until you unlock it, then go back and hang out twinking in the Undead Settlement. Ironically, doing this basically prevents you from actually using Darkmoon Blade as the requirements are too high to fit onto a twink build. Good luck facing the Pontiff with a +3 weapon and low SL

Maybe I do want to PVP? I like the fact that purples think they're so slick when literally everyone knows their deal. So they decide at one point they're going to turn on you, and you put them down. It's like guaranteed co-op and guaranteed invasion packed into a single thing, makes co-op feel less like cheating, and doesn't usually result in you being outnumbered.

It's also fun to see what happens when a red phantom invades and it's just me and purple. Do they help me? Do they team up on me?

Sadly most purples I've summoned aren't this much fun. Just like in previous Souls games, the majority of people I summon or people who invade me just act like retards and don't even gesture.

I've learned how to pick them though. Usually the shitters have katanas and full helms and are named DARKNESS or something. Real people have coherent names, dress lightish or fashionable, and have hints of meta (like they're using a straight sword).
