Once they decide they are going to attack they will go through with that shit indefinitely, you can stagger them 7 times and you're still getting punished after you stop swinging. You just cannot roll away in time.

Also, while I'm shitposting. This game has a huge fucking issue with action queuing after the player has been staggered. I don't want my roll or attack to continue to go through after a boss has smacked the shit out of me with a sword, it just puts me in a far worse position. For some reason the actions queue while you're staggered and fire off way late.

Ultimate no fun allowed pyromancy twink build.

The extreme downside to this build, is that it requires you to beat all the bosses up to wolnir at level 22 or less AND with no weapons or equipment leveled past +3 (+3 specifically so you can invade people that have +1 equipment) since it's unknown if you can store things away to lower your current equipment level.

However, with the 3 pyro boosting rings, sacred flame will 1 shot kill the early opponents, and chaos fireball will do massive damage.

HOW DOES SORC SCALE WITH INT

Also, after I killed this guy and went to loot the treasures he was hoarding, some asshole started shooting giant spears at me. In waist deep muck i could barely move, and every time a spear landed near me it sent me flying ten feet.

This area has to have been the most miserable thing I have ever experienced in a video game. The giant dragon wizards that cast skulls? Terrible. The jumping aerial curse attack frogs? Terrible. The goo launching slugs that are everywhere and only hunt in groups of 20? Terrible. All of this happening in 5 foot deep muck that cuts your movement to less than half? Terrible terrible terrible.

Fuck this place. At least I got a greatsword out of it.

So. Was Abyss Watchers hard? I heard people complain about it on /v/ and I figured I'd be in for quite a wild ride, but it was one of the easiest bosses to date for me. Phase 2 was pretty much Maria from BB, except with easy backstabs.

I'm always reluctant to ask these questions because it sounds like bragging but I died tons of times to those big knights with greatswords or tower shield+mace in the Cathedral, Abyss Watchers literally only hit me once. So far, regular enemeis are harder than bosses.

The problem isn't longswords being worth anything, it's them having the highest damage output of anything imaginable. R1R1R1R1R1 with a longsword mindlessly steamrolls content because you have the damage of a UGS and the speed of a dagger.

Straightswords are obscenely overpowered right now, to the detriment of every facet of the game.

The bad anti-aliasing in this game is pretty distracting. Forcing it doesn't seem to make a difference (like in Blizzard's games, incidentally). It reminds me of FFXIV with all its jaggedy hair.

The Farron Greatsword is probably my favorite Souls weapon out of all the games. Zwei moveset with Dex scaling and a fucking spindash? Oh, and it can also parry.

Combine it with a shield for those rare occasions you need to block, and you're fucking set.

Sure, you can't just spam attacks like with a straight sword but who fucking cares I dash forward and anchor myself to the ground with a dagger while I 360 with my Zwei.

If you get him into the room with the lift and hit the switch without riding it up then you can bait him into jumping into the pit and killing himself. Pretty cheap, but if you're not getting anywhere with him regularly then it works.
