What's a good axe or weapon in general to use for a Pyromancer?

Struggling a bit early on due to slower cast times and shallower mana pool starting out. Feels like I should take use of my Fire Gem but I don't want to use it on something that won't have use anywhere past the start of the game.

so when do bosses push your shit in? beaten the first three bosses without dying and with ease. Is it just because I've been playing since DS that the bosses are easy, or because they are in fact easy? BB bosses pushed my shit in, so did DaS so i dunno what gives

After hours of work I finally got the game to actually launch. Only to find out that the game runs like complete ass. Can't even maintain enough of a framerate for online play, in spite of meeting the recommended system requirements.

In Lothric you can get the Lucerne, and the Winged Knight Halberd which basically have the same moveset as the slash halberds from DaS1, barring rolling attacks.

Posting this again just in case it helps anyone

If you're getting framerate issues specifically after loading screens + picking up items, try changing this setting. My GPU was underclocking itself after the two things I just mentioned and changing this to "prefer maximum performance" fixed it completely for me.

You can backstab it halfway through it's animation.

You have to start from the right distance, move in and press R1 at a certain point of the animation and you backstab them. Timing can be tricky but I got it down now. It's a free backstab weapon to me now.

Because the rags are the best armourset in the game.

The way defense works in this game, is that having ANY piece of armour simply equipped gives you the % reduction tied in with your base defences you get from simply leveling up.

Wearing full havels compared to the rags is the difference between taking 40 less damage from an attack and being completely immobile, or taking a little bit more damage than average but being so light you can hit 25% and properly fast roll to the other side of the room whenever you want.

Rags > Everything else. Maybe not for fashion, but for functionality. They tell the game you're wearing armour, so you get defences applied, but you're not weighed down like a hunk of shit and require vit.

Armour is only useful for poise, not defence. You can extend hyper armour frames for longer during attacks. Mostly more useful for elemental resistance than physical resist.

What melee weapons are you fellows enjoying the most? Just played a sorcerer long enough to kill Vordt, but I'm starting to get a little bored with it and thinking of restarting as a melee focused character. The butcher knife has the same moveset as axes, but with S STR scaling and the best range of any axe, it's a great weapon. If you use hammers, I'd recommend the Drang Hammers.

Honestly I've never enjoyed pyromancy in any of the three dark souls games. I'm not completely sure why. It just bores me like nothing else. Weirdly enough I've played pure miracle and sorcery characters in the past two games and loved them.

Holy shit farron dart is such a trash spell. My sorcerer is getting 10 damage per dart on regular ass hollows. With the young dragon ring on. Whereas a regular soul arrow does 50ish and costs 7 FP to farron dart's 3 FP.

What's a good PVP weapon for a STR build?

Has anybody figured out where to get Estoc other than as the Assassin starting weapon? I wanted to Claymore my way through everything like in DS1, but the poise mechanics blatantly favor stunlocking with fast weapons and punish anything slow.

I found out by accident that if you're quick enough you can kill them before they transform. Also if you're a ranged character you can just run away a little until they stop following, then snipe them and repeat.

In firelink go upp to lothrics throne. Behind it is some edge man who gives you 5 cracked red eyes. I warped to undead settlement. Used all 5 warped back and he gave me key to kill a darkraith. Go to 2nd bonfire in highwall and go directly below the bonfire to the locked bar door. Open with key, take elevator down, kill darkwraith. Gg

These anime faces like Lady Maria only look good from certain angles. The player model isn't meant to have that kind of face, with the super narrow jaw and chin, and it's obvious by the bizarre, jutting, geometry at the back of the jaw on either side. Maria has a unique model that can't be properly emulated by the character creator.
