I was going to use it as a sort of delaipated camping house. Like how hobos will sometimes camp in old buildings and shit.

I like to use empty settlements like little hobo camps for myself like that when traveling so I have a place nearby to stay when passing through.

Plus I always thought i'd try to patch up the manor or the old house on Spectacle Island. I'm sure I could do something ugly and post apoc looking if I decide to.

I'd think if they wanted them to be totally ded they'd allow you to bury them, or make it a fade to black scene in front of the pod with "Bury Nora" or something on it, and a grave marker somewhere near Sanctuary.

Then every time you go "activate" the headstone you'll hear your SS say "Goodbye, hun..." like they do with Shaun's headstone in the Institute ending. I dunno if I'd call it laziness or what but it seems like they went out of there way to not do anything in the Vault once you leave, and its not like they thought people wouldn't go back, because that fucking Ice gun is there and all the companions react to her body.

I know, it probably meant a synth. But maybe they figured some people might not like that or some might side with some faction besides Institute and won't be able to get synth spouse.

So I personally think Far Harbor will either have a fully revived spouse using SCIENCE or synth. Far Harbor is based on a place called Bar Harbor that researched heavily into human regeneration, and did some weird shit with eels and starfishes, to see if humans could grow back tissue / limbs like a Starfish.

And they also probably have a cure for Cancer down there somewhere, which would be pretty fucked if you sided with institute until the end, only to find the cure after Father dies.

I actually "canonically" haven't even opened it yet, even to take the ring, so every time I do to test a thing, I hear Nate's incredibly hammy acting.

It also feels like a massive waste of possible tearjerker elements, like, say, taking Synth Shaun to see his "mom." Just so you could let him know what she looked like. Possibly then he'd ask questions, and you could either lie or tell the truth, about how she died, who killed her, etc. This could have been a particularly touching way of starting "The replacement" quest had it not been cut as well, with Synth Shaun begging you to make mom alive again with Institute technology.

I'd be a little bummed if he's not involved in any way in a DLC where she comes back to life, but there's potentially people that blew him to smithereens...

For me, its a 50/50 between Sigma trooper and star paladin.
I voted S.Paladin however because while Enclave troops are prime humans, its that very mutation which ought to give a standard waster the edge.
If it was untrained prime human v untrained waster, I'd go for the untrained prime human because they're much more likely to be well fed, looked after and so on. However, a star paladin isn't going to be starving, weak or diseased. They're going to be well looked after with all of the best technology the Brotherhood can get to keep them alive and fit. They'll have less fancy training than the Enclave and slightly worse equipment, but they make up for it with better real world training. They're battle proven. They KNOW they can take a hit and shit all over their opponents.

Just because Nora was pregnant and most of the storyboarding drawn from the POV of Nate doesn't mean she couldn't have been a player character. It can sort of imply that you could have selected control of the character later (maybe at the point where they're absconding with the child) or even just before. Imagine the switchover.

EIther you're Nate watching these scientists perform invasive surgery on Nora to remove Shaun or you get to experience it from first person.

Movies where you're presented with one character you're certain is a protagonist only to be replaced with a hero that wasn't the focus up until then do exist, and would have been an interesting way to approach the game.

It would have also made Nora feel a titch more like the bride from Kill Bill.

So I'm planning a mod set in Bucksport, Maine, and I have 2 questions:

1. What's the main map's size in sq. miles, for scale? My area's about 1/12 the size of Bar Harbor on the map.

2. Anyone have any ideas for quests/locations/worldbuilding/details?
Bucksport is a small town at the mouth of a river in coastal Maine. Features of the area include:

Fort Knox (Whose occupants use their fortified position and the threat of their retrofitted artillery to rule the area like feudal lords),
A large suspension bridge next to the fort with an observation deck in the top (which the fort group will be controlling, charging heavy tolls to pass and watching the whole area from the observatory),
The paper mill (recently occupied by a raider scouting party),
The Alamo Theater and Film Preservation Society (an old lady will be there with a robot for protection, continuing the work by sending the player to collect old world holotapes and recordings around the map),
3 schools right by each other (Held by wastelanders as the main neutral town? One might be full of ghouls),
A lumber yard, a lake, some farms, a scrapyard, a seminary with a tower on the highest hill in town, a suburbs area, and various houses on the outskirts.
There's also Verona Island, which connects the fort area to the town via the two bridges; it has a small cluster of shops and homes but is mostly forest with houses around the island's edge (and a church right in the center, down a dirt road in the middle of the forest for some reason).
And by the end of the main quest, there will also be The Viking, the raider band's Mad Max-esque cargo ship full of plunder, supplies, weapons, and raiders. The mill raiders are trying to deal with the fort's guns so the ship can come downriver and pillage the town. Choosing to stop or help them is the main quest.

So does any of that inspire any ideas? I think I have enough to make a decent mod already but I do have some empty spots on the map that could have more in them.

So.. How do I download Wasteland Workshop? It's there but not downloading even after restarting Steam.
