What I'm fighting right now is input lag with my X52. It wasn't a problem early last year. I started playing again and it's an inconsistent disaster with my stick. Works flawlessly in Elite: Dangerous, not so in KSP. I've read that it's most likely due to Unity's handling of joysticks. I somehow doubt SQUAD is going to work on a fix SOON(TM), which is a fucking shame because I enjoy this game.

You can right-click the command module and tell it to make a "crew report", gathering crew reports in different locations gets you science.

similarly, you may have a piece called a "mystery goo container", this can be right-clicked and activated, and doing so in new places yields science. Other scientific instruments work the same way.

If you put an antenna on and have enough science, you can transmit scientific data back to base without recovering the craft. Crew reports and EVA reports yield the full amount of science if you do this, but you'll get less for other sources of science.

If you upgrade the astronaut complex, you can tell your kerbals to go on an "Extravehicular Activity", or EVA. They get out of the fuckin' spaceship. You need to use your discretion to know when this is not a retarded thing to do. When outside the spacecraft, they can be right clicked and told to make an "EVA report, which can be brought back into the capsule and transmitted or recovered.

Some missions give science, as well as money and renown.
