Writing helps in the long run but you dont have to learn it. With writing system I meant kanji. Kanji are really intimidating at the beginning, but once you know most jouyou kanji, learning vocab becomes easy as fuck because you can guess the definitions from the kanji

The VN scenes isn't there yet. You can say that once it's at least 5 years old. We've just started with publishers licensing somewhat new games. But most licenses are still of relatively old VNs.

Demonbane was delayed for months (or even more than a year?) because Nitro+ took forever to adapt the engine and get Jast's script into the game. At the time it was released, the game worked, but there wasn't even wordwrapping in the backlog or something.. so it took forever and was STILL halfassed. Not really the fault of Jast, but it was just.. holy shit was it bad.

The original dev delaying stuff isn't THAT strange. You can hear this every now and then. They always focus on their own market first, and then, if they have time, do work for the other versions. Funny how they even make these things as VNs. Kinda beyond me, why they do that. At least as far as all-ages goes. Not necessarily true. Depends on how it's done. Chuuni just means "have hidden/special powers and fight some major something the majority doesn't even know exists". It depends on what else is there.

I just don't like typical shounen stories. Clear black and white battles as well as story. Typical "lose -> power up -> win" formula. And so on. Not like all typical elements are always featured in shounen stories, but yeah.. usually not my thing. Not anymore at least.
Well, I might give Babel a shot, once I know more about it from other people. Though the backlog kinda disagrees with that. At least it's not massively long. 1.8mb text or something like that.

I got the prediction of Maou being Kyousuke's relative right but I thought it was his dad out for revenge, not his brother whom I forgot even existed up until that point.
Oh and for her sharp mind wouldn't Usami deduct it wouldn't be possible that Kyousuke is Maou since that would put him at the age of 10 when her mother was assassinated? It's not even like her childhood encounters with him would give her the idea that Kyousuke is a violent person.

Overall it was pretty good and definitely ended on a high note in chapter 5 and the epilogue after the absolute clusterfuck that defined 90% of chapter 4 up until the Maou reveal, and resulting narrative switch.

The problem with VNs is, with too old ones you tend to have crap translations which can hurt them quite a bit. What you are reading is pretty known for that issue, as far as I remember. Personally I've dropped it, though that was quite a long time ago. As such I'm not sure how much I've read.

That said, if you can't into moon and you are really done with everything "new" in English, you don't have much of a choice if you wanna read a VN. Most are even worse than KK I'd assume.
