Just start from Cold Steel if you want. Heard plenty of people say they became a lot more interested in Trails in the Sky afterward. You have to want to take in all the detail of the world and tolerate the slow pacing.

Even some of the biggest Trails fans will admit they had a hard time getting into FC.

Took me like 9 years to actually get into FC. I always got bored and dropped it, complaining it was too slow. Literally tried playing it like 7 times and always said fuck it.

Believe me, it honestly is one of the best JRPGs I've ever played. I think the whole Sora trilogy is gonna end up like that. You get so attached to the characters its crazy. And when things start to pick up, they really pick up. I regret taking so long to play these, and stuff like this makes me even more happy that I learned moon.

Well, Trails in the Sky FC is kind of a completely different experience than most JRPGs nowadays, so it's not surprising people have a hard time getting into it.

Also in terms of gameplay, it's fairly tedious. At least the sequel has more balanced and fun combat, plus you can avoid most random encounters.

You're telling me. The game pretty much expects you to use the hide feature a LOT. It's your only real way of getting new equipment for your party since the shop is so expensive and is pretty shit anyway. That, and it's a REALLY slow start because leveling is so slow and that means every battle is basically the same until you hit the 5 hour mark (if you're lucky).

Songlist has too many bland and uninteresting songs, overshadowing the good one (mostly by Jin), gameplay looks uninspired, and no extra modes.
