Oh fuck. Tripwire have done it now. It's all over.
Also, I played the Hostile Grounds map. It's pretty good, I like the style, if SBD has lost his touch it isn't showing. The aesthetics are recycled but that's OK, he's just working with the shit TW forced him to use.

I had to quit his map because there was 1 Zed left who was stuck somewhere for 5 minutes, but hopefully that will be fixed before the update.

Well, TW are aware that the correct process is

Step 1 = Create a game
Step 2 = Make it a good game
Step 3 = Attract lots of players
Step 4 = Profit from MTs

However, TW decided that there WASN'T ENOUGH TIME, so they skipped Step 2, which resulted in Step 3 being skipped as well, and now Step 4 is only partially happening.

When in the SDK you have to place your file in the same filepath as the file you're replacing.
For example, if you're making a skin for the AR 15, you have to make a file in the same location (stuff/stuff/Packages/Weapons/AR15_9MM) and then export the package from there.
You may also need to not only subscribe to an item but also replace some of your base files. I know this has been the case for my character skins at the very least, so it may be true for all kinds of skin changes.

Changes I've been thinking about to create a skill build diversity:

- Grenade supplier ability is removed from Demolition. Now Support Specialist's Supplier ability also resupplies grenade once in a wave.
- Instead of Grenade Supplier, Demolition have an ability for swapping weapons even faster called "Sleigh".
- Demolition On Contact now also adds motion sensors to C4
- Demolition Explosive Resistance changed. Requires you to have armor points and now applies to all teammates who have armor within' a long radius.
- Support, ZED-Safeguard armor bonus increased to 10% from 5%.
- Commando Leadership now changed. Applies to a mediocre radius around Commando and improves movement speed of allies by 10% as well.
- Berserker Vampire now grants 5 health on kill and 4 health on a parry.

Are people completely missing the point of why vampire is broken as shit? Simply increasing it from 3 health to 4 health isn't the issue. It's the fact that it's health gained on kill. That means I receieve 5 health for killing a crawler or a fleshpound yet the work I've put into killing them is far from equal. It's competing with a shit ton of base health, I need to be able to wade into a crowed and be rewarded for hacking shit to pieces whether it's dying or not

Threadly reminder that twi will balance based on charts and will therefore nerf demo for topping in damage.
Also reminder that demo is the only fighter perk with neither a reload speed nor a weapon switch speed perk or passive despite needing the most extensive combos of the cast to even perform what's supposed to be his job AND having to reload after every shot.
Also no /ss/ next patch.
Ten bucks the railgun weights ten, slow you down to a crawl, and law will be a worse 1911.

4k hours KF1 anon here may be for the last time. Dunno, KF2 is half dead and it feels like it took down KF1 with itself. Anything you wanna ask about KF1 gameplay and stuff?

A few more tips for high difficulty play:
>32 specimen at once in the map by default rule.
Count your blessings as well as specimen you kill when kiting.
>Specimen spawn has a 5 second delay by default.
Use that to your advantage and clog front spawns by running to next corner and put a good delay between each kill you score.
That kinda makes the Commando the best front man in the game in a kite scenery.
>Regarding the above killing them in mass via explosives when kiting always backfire from frontspawns.
Because when lesser specimen die as a bunch they always spawn as something bigger and this time from front.
>Chokepoints
Some spots have blood trails or different ambient lights which marks a spot with a hotspot of spawns. When you are kiting you have to tone down your killing when coming close ahead.
>Mainstreams
You'll notice some spots are more crowded or at least have a really huge spawn rate compared to other places in map and these pathing specimen chose are generally near chokepoints
>Welding doors
Acceptable move but welding all doors generally cause them to topple up and overwhelm you when door broke. This occasionally happens at high difficulties and late waves, more deliberate when you push away from your friends position and kill lots of specimen.
Door welding can be used to regroup in another hold point with Supports or Demolitions if something goes wrong and you give out casualties.
>Accuracy
Always aim with gun point. All weapons have different recoil patterns, kickback effects and ofcourse a small bullet deviation.
Some long muzzle rifles can be tamed with a small flick of a wrist but some weapons just have rapid fire rate and only require you to compensate for recoil to go with the flow. Mind about recoil pattern and point the gun muzzle at the right side of their throat.

I think I found it.
There also seems to be a FAMAS in that picture. The guy on the bottom is holding one.

So here's the facts:
The SWAT will spawn with a P90.
There's voice lines for the MP5.
There's voice lines for the STG-44.
There's motion capture done for the M60 (the LMG in the picture.)

So my guess would be this:
Tier 1: P90 (basically confirmed, pretty sure it is/was listed in the game files as SWAT's spawning weapons)
Tier 2: MP5/40 (.40 S&W), MP5/10 (10mm,) or just a normal MP5 with a huge (50-100) round magazine.
Tier 3: Sturmgewehr 44
Tier 4: M60

Since none of these include a riot shield and he uses primarily SMGs, it would be safe to assume it would inherit the tankiness of Medic from KF1.
They can't give it speed because then it would basically just be a Berserker with the VLAD, so he loses speed for even more tankiness. Presumably a combination of damage resistance and much stronger armor.
No ability to dual wield like Gunslinger even though it could theoretically be done, though the weight issue (not to mention how silly dual wielding M60s would be) stops that in its tracks.
And if we were to reuse most of the KF1's Medic skills, SWAT's level-based skills would be like this:

Spawn with combat armor, no perk required.
Increased combat armor effectiveness: 1% per level.
Magazine size increases: 10% per 5 levels.
Total ammo pool increase: 5% per 5 levels.
Damage resistance: 0.7% per level.
Reload speed: 1% per level.

No damage boost and no movement speed boost would make sense. It would basically make SWAT a dedicated tanking/aggro perk that kills trash about as well as Medic but with much larger magazines and ammo pools.

Zerk in KF2 is so fucking easy. The only thing you need is a fucking Pulverizer. Spam alt fire on Fleshpound and use Smash to knockdown Scrake. And if shit goes wrong just throw EMP.

I discussed that question with a friend, we agreed upon "randomization" (either pseudo, controlled or total randomization) is an element that pulls the player. Also:

30% faster at Hell on Earth

I don't know the exact number but it's randomized for each specimen and adds slight extra over the base movement speed modifier. I think that's the main reason of wonky head Bloats.

That multiplier affected by player count. 3-player being base it improves at 5th then 6th player alive.

These above information also shows how it's easy for game to create some encounter randomly. You can not count the times you died to a Clot from a dark corner pinning you down.

Ok I know some of you guys have your hands in modding and some people here are genuinely knowledgeable when it comes to editing the code.

Basically I have two things I want to change.

1: I want spent shells and magazines to last longer on the map. These are particle effects which have a 15 second (shells) and 30 second (magazines) lifetime. It's possible to increase the lifetime in the ini files but not the maximum amount spawned and existing on the map. The MAIN issue is that these particles disappear instantly upon switching weapons which pisses me off real good. Would anyone know what class I would need to modify to change these properties?

2: I want the audio of these impacting different materials to be much louder. So basically how would I go about increasing the volume of specific effects to a level where I can actually hear it over all the other shit. I imagine it should be easier than replacing a file.

The impact noises are woefully weak at the moment. I want something like this

I gave this a look when some anon requested it (maybe you, idk). The problem isn't finding the file or altering the volume, it's the number of sounds in the file. The file WwiseDefaultBank_WW_Skin_Impacts.bnk
has roughly 250 objects in it- but the free version of Wwise only allows for 200 objects compiled per bank. It's either go through a huge and complex files and putting an asston of work in to push out an incomplete or substandard end product, or shell out $750 for a professional Wwise license. I chose to put it on the back burner.

Is it possible that this one is smaller or contains less objects? I'm probably confusing banks and packages. This package only has 19 AKEvents

Right now I'm using the SDK to find these files. That said I want to up the volume of ever AkEvent in this package and nothing else. Is there a simple way to do like a blanket increase of intensity on all sounds?

There may be a way to edit the Init.bnk, which acts as a master overarching config file for the soundbanks- instead of dealing with soundbanks, it deals with respective volume, state and occlusion of each audio bus.

I've never looked into this, and the material Tripwire has included in the game is nearly useless due to a combination of formatting differences between the files they wrote for their game and limitations of Wwise to import proper soundbank config definitions. It's possible that it could be totally rebuilt, but that's outside what I know now.

I honestly never touched game coding or Wwise before deciding "huh, I wish the game played Kill La Kill music" one day last year

I made some Sharp speculations at previous thread. But I'm sure of something, when Sharp comes out; it will disappoint me beyond imagination. I can already tell that TWI will fuck up and toss in "elite reload", "bodyshot damage", "increased movement speed" without giving any room or space for build diversity.

KF1 had more of a cult appeal than a general following. On one hand you're not gonna find a horde shooter with snarky British humor and a good challenge in any other game, but on the other hand the majority of people who play games don't want that.

They spent way too much of their budget on motion capture (expensive as shit,) fancy graphics, and FLEX which obviously went nowhere.
And in the process they also took out most of what made the first game so fun. A chat wheel, unkitable enemies, little to no British charm, and just a whole bunch of "soul" lost in the transition to Unreal Engine 3.
And even though they were going to capitalize on the PS4 market, they still haven't said anything about the PS4 release since it was first announced in 2014.

Tripwire made the mistake of being too ambitious while not understanding what made KF1 so fun and semi-successful.
They've dug their own grave yet have put themselves on microtransaction life support. They refuse to work on the game as it would cost them money, but they want to mitigate the sunk costs by trying to squeeze people dry with cosmetics.

How successful is was Rising Storm/Red Orchestra 2? I don't know anything by them besides Killing Floor 1 and that WW2 game but maybe they just go lucky with KF1.

Foster could have been a lot better, I get what they were aiming for but its just so overdone. Like the voice itself, hate the dialogue. i disagree with that. kf2 is a worthy successor to kf1, the true problem is that tripwire's priorities are completely fucked. they're working too much on the outside edges instead of focusing on the current core problems. people have been screaming at them for the better part of a year about it, and they still refuse to change their development process whatsoever.

1) Restore and revise what is expected of KF2 from KF1.

This game would have a playerbase if it was actually fun and not grindy

People would not go to boost servers if they enjoyed playing the game and levelling up, which they don't. It takes fucking forever to level up regularly, but you need the higher levels to do well in the harder difficulties.

The harder settings are more fun, because it stresses your skills and makes the game just overall more enjoyable. But increasing the difficulty just makes the enemies bullet sponges. 2 law rockets killed a fleshpound on 6 player HoE in the original, and now it takes 7-8 RPG shots to kill a fleshpound in kf2.

Also the classes are a lot less unique. Firebug used to clear only trash, and you had to watch out for big zeds. Demo had to conserve ammo, watch out for sirens and proximity. Now both clear trash as well as big zeds, and kinda sorta have to worry about ammo.

So we have this trifecta of shitty gameplay, where:

The cherry on top of this is the gambling crate system they introduced, with the promise of side grade weapons in the future.

Here's a neat little fact:

The damage of C4 is halved for every consecutive C4 used. That means if the C4 did 100 damage, the next would do 50, then 25, then 12.5, and so on.

So if you were to do this to a fleshpound infinitely, it would only do the damage of 2 C4's! There's a mathematical equation that I showed in pic related that states that if you keep halving the next amount you add, you eventually end up with double your original amount.


So to sum up, blowing C4's until time ends will end up doing the damage of two C4's if you wait 3 seconds between using them.

Fun game, right?

Since I've got nothing better to do i'll give my thoughts on these perks.

I wouldn't ever use Stung because stumbling things would be annoying whenever you're trying to get quick decaps, especially with other perks stumbling scrakes and fleshpounds.

>Field Experience - No weapon bobbing when moving on ironsights.
Stability would be an easy pick for me, I can't see myself needing the reduced weapon bob, especially since I didn't feel like I needed it on gunslinger as well.

>Disciplined - Gain 25% reload speed bonus when you score a headshot for 2 seconds.
I can't see myself wanting to stay close enough to bash zeds for the reload speed, so Finisher is out of the picture. Disciplined seems very good, especially if scoring a headshot means that it'll activate even if a zed isn't decapitated by the shot. When it comes down to it, reloading comes immediately after you fire, and that shot is going to be a headshot the vast majority of the time. Two seconds is a lot of time for a 25% reload speed bonus too, even if it stops mid reload.

These are two very good choices, and it all depends on what map and area you're on to use it.

Idea was giving low level Sharps a chance to reload and do supporting stumble headshots with rifles from a long range. Because perk itself won't be getting faster reload time until you are at level15 on my scheme.

The trick is Finisher lasts 5 second which gives you an opportunity to shot a few then reload the M14.
Whilst, Disciplined makes you chain headshots wilth LaR due to it being a single-shot rifle (you reload right after every shot). However, you'll reload abit slow afterwards when you empty the whole tube. I don't know if this kinda effect should cease mid-animation or something.

If it would require you to stand still for like 5 seconds, it would be okay. It doesn't increase your damage, it increases your ROF, and you have to actually aim more and better to land all these bullets.

Considering that SS will for sure one-shot every single trash zed except for may be siren this bonus will be only important against FPs and SCs, in that case you and your team should be rewarded for managing to hold the position and not letting any zed to touch you (after the next update it will mean that they will move you and so the bonus will stop working).

Crossbow pierces, railgun most likely will have infinite pierce with shit ton of damage. What you ask here is letting sharp kill everything in sight with just a few clicks and doing a really noticeable damage to big ones in the process. I can already tell giving increased attack rating opens the way of abusing the fire rate via pierce damage of those weapons already have.

Zerkwall will allow you to stand in the place, you can spam railshots at FP's core or Scrake's body and shit with 50% RoF without any consequences. Sharpshooter will be the #1 overpowered trash cleaner because of massive damage per shot he has already; which he shouldn't be. Sharp supposed to be the slow damage spikes with headshots. He shouldn't be able to clear amass of 6 specimen right off the bat alone with a single railshot then engage FP like nothing happened.

At the Killing Floor 1 Sharp have 60% reload bonus and you have no idea how many M99 bodyshotter or Crawler bolt pricker we have even without doorzerks. Was it effective tho'? To be honest; "No". But that's because those weapons are already tweaked for overpowered weapon bonuses Sharp already have.

At KF2 perk bonuses are most likely be scarce because it's their design. As for your 20% damage vs 50% RoF thing; If someone deals 100 damage per second, with 20% damage it will be 120 dps right? Same amount of damage with 50% rate of fire makes it 151~ dps. Commando in subject have shitload of weak bullets, thus it gets 20% straight damage. Sharp you have in question have still buttload of hard hitting rifles, will have headshot bonuses also most likely will have piercing shots.

We're talking about a game where Medics grab Pulverizer and AA12 offperk'd to be effective and they manage it. Thinking otherwise would be foolish. With given hints and some theory/mathcraft; I can tell that standing bonus 50% RoF bonus is bullshit, because I know Railgun will be a really powerful compensator for everyone to have a taste.

We could, but this is one of the few features that seem like a genuinly good idea for this game and could really improve it. The changelog for the coming update in general shapes up pretty good gameplay wise. Maybe Tripwire finally heard the emergency bell ringing, maybe they were just lucky this time. If those changes turn up actually good, there is nothing wrong with encouraging them, though in moderation so they don't slack off again.

Yeah it's also a pretty big buff to slinger, but it was so necessary. Switching to the knife was completely terrible before and switching weapons in general felt sluggish and bad. It buffs medic, gunslinger, and zerker a bit, but I'm fine with that if it means better QoL across the game.

Considering the webms on the LAR, ammo count was about 56, so i'd say expect around 60 shots in that. If its coupled with the good power it once had, its safe to say it will be fine.

Crossbow seems to have 18 altogether in all previews i've seen on it, so i'm suspecting that will be the top amount.

Something I wanted to get info on anyway, regarding demo.
Besides "is it worth picking up" and the standard "no" responses, how can you play it reliably?

This a class that's good at mid to long range, but suffers in close quarters due to their own explosive recoil/duds reducing AoE and in this fast paced metagame where enemies give you very little breathing space, especially with most maps giving you small areas to work in, its no surprise people don't pick this.
Even the cycle to kill fleshpounds just looks unfun, one mistake or enemy blocking your explosives which are limited as is, and it could punish the team for keeping it alive longer than planned, since you're so slow to recover with a second shot and it could shred through your teams health in no time.

4k hours KF1 anon here. I say KF1 Crossbow have way too much ammo for an accurate player (source: me). Also people think its reload speed is abit too much in KF1 (source: the other inhouse players I play with).
So, if TWI have any of those elitist player opinions, I say don't keep your hopes high about Crossbow's ammo count.

Only thing I tend to have trouble with as demo is getting swarmed by trash and that only seems to happen in pubs where teammates don't give shit number 1 about anyone other than themselves

If you're getting swarmed by crowds try to snipe a wall or floor near the crowd with the RPG, it has a surprisingly good radius.

As demo you're an initiator/damage dealer on fleshpounds. You shouldn't be expected to do sick solos on them all by yourself. Combine your stuns with dumping C4 and RPG. Let your team follow up with some concentrated fire and fp is mince meat before he can even move in rage mode.

I may be biased though, I love demo. I find him super fun

25 demo here, the grenade is really useful if you're ever caught in a pile of trash. I personally find it better than C4 because of it's versatility.
Just shoot it at the ground and proceed to move away, you take 0 damage from the grenade pistol. It also has nice glowing skins.
