there are a handful of useful mods out but modding is still not a big part of this game, steam workshop isn't even up yet

they game is a lot of fun on its own, but its easy to break so pace yourself

In the mines. With that perk, you can easily farm geodes just by breaking every rock in a five level stretch and then repeating. It's great early on, or if you want to cheaply collect minerals. But later the more time efficient way to do so is to just by buying a shitload of Omni Geodes from Sandy on Wednesday for 1k a pop.

Right now it's not worth the price. Either wait for more content updates, good gameplay mods, or a sale.

The only thing that's in any way different/better than an old harvest moon game is the fact that you have a fuckhuge farm to sandbox in (oh and ""combat""). Other than that, it lacks gameplay.

I'm halfway through my first winter with nothing to do all day except tend to my animals or farm materials. Reached the bottom of the mine, almost married, can't progress the community centre until spring.

There should've been more to the adventurer's guild, than a couple of old farts sitting around all day doing nothing.

There should've been a couple apprentices, a bachelor and a bachelorette I guess, with scripted events in the mines as well as random encounters. It would be a nice surprise, and a break from the monotony, to be farming dust motes in the dreary mines only to go down a floor and see one of the apprentices fighting shit.

Maybe even Marlon himself could, extremely rarely, show up in the mines doing *teleports behind you* OHKO moves to groups of enemies. It would add some flavor to the mines and give you a pile of loot.

The other day I was thinking of letting you hire NPC's that went into a dungeon as a gold sink and came up with after you found that side tunnel in the ice section you could hire adv. guild npc's, give them weapons, armor, rings, foods. Maybe even pack animals and wagons which would need a subquest and costly tunneling to make ramps between floors. You could set general encounter rules and they'd go on a week long expedition to mine and kill shit.

It'd even have some room for expansion if the war storyline was established. Maybe run into ex-soldiers on certain days at the saloon and if you fugg them enough they'll be avaliable for hire.
