Not sure how much this is related with those threads, but did anyone ever try to export sound files from the game? I've tried gw2browser, but the problem is it seems to extract those SoundBank files in some... compressed(?) format. Even names them .raw despite me picking the other option.
I'm trying really hard to get some of the sounds from the game, like whatever Rikkiti says.

Don't bother, I tried to do the same thing. The way the games sound files are set up is that many character voice lines are in the same sound file and they're near impossible to navigate with just gw2browser alone.
If you really must, just change the filetype of the files you extract to .wav and you should be able to listen to them.

1) You're late. If you didn't get to sapphire within the first... oh, three days, let's be generous, then most of the ruby/diamond pugs have already moved on.
2) that being said, carry harder. Early on, play a boon-strip necro. It's on metabattle. You may have difficulty with condi-mesmer, but it's a fairly hard counter to both auramancer ele and scrapper, especially if the opponent isn't that familiar with those classes.
3) make sure you win the first contest for mid. If that means ignoring Svanir or whatnot, do it. Forcing pugs to stagger back from spawn is a surefire way to win in lower ranks because they don't communicate well. It's a shitty system, but that's how it is.

After ten minutes of this I open LFG and watch people open taxis, only for people in the same map 3 feet away from them join the group hoping for an out, and leaving guiltily when they realize they've been caught trying to bail.
It just baffles me. It's like a herd of cows on an open conveyer belt leading towards a meat grinder, only they could step off onto the grass and save themselves at any time.

Thief is probably one of the best classes for open world PvE, actually.
They lack a true niche in raids, though.
Guardians are pretty middle of the road in everything right now.

I used to. Not so much anymore.
Any time spent goofing off with friends are my favourite moments but the ones I'm most fond of were roaming with my buddies years ago in WvW.
Just something about beating up baddies giggling with a bunch of friends on Teamspeak until five in the morning, then shitting your pants when realising you have class in less than three hours.

It's a hard comparison really because some classes mobility can increase dramatically based on whether there are enemy targets around (revenant, thief).
Also nowhere in the game that's big enough for such a comparison. I think Daredevil is the most mobile though considering all the extra mobility it gave thief with Dash and its existing movement skills and glitches.
Also gotta factor in things like is the class allowed to slot weapons in and out while moving? Because then Druid would be extremely quick too.

That's a really tough question.
Honestly when I'm out and about fighting in EB with my guild and others, I don't spend much time thinking 'oh they need to fix this or change that', unless something seems strikingly obvious, for example, the emergency waypoint needs to be randomized, in a small area, but random. Right now the blob guilds/groups just sit on the area where EVERYONE knows the emergency waypoint location is, and so it makes the entire use of the emergency waypoint redundant. If it were randomized to three different locations in the same area, then it would increase the viability of emergency waypoint a lot!
Nothing else comes to mind, I enjoy wvw a lot with my guildies and tc friends.
I think they could show wvw some more love - give us some interesting armour sets/weapon sets, things to show our 'rank' and what not. Cosmetic stuff that doesn't take years to grind towards, of course. I guess that's my dream.

For me, I really don't know. I'm a roamer at heart so WvW has never been geared toward my preferred playstyle which is fine really. WvW's about the big battles.
I'm on the unpopular side of this opinion but I think the use of PvP amulets/gear in WvW (Food/Nourishment can stick around) would benefit it greatly when the game mode is already so horribly shitty from a combat balance point of view. It'd also make changing builds so much less of a pain in the arse.
The new maps are straight up terrible. They shouldn't be removed entirely, but they need to be redesigned. They're beautiful to look at but aren't functional at all. It takes too long to get anywhere, map buffs are way too strong or annoying to deal with etc etc. Anet just did too much at once (as they usually do) and they fucked it up. Also rotate them in and out with the alpine borderlands.
Guild claiming/upgrades being locked behind halls blows and is a kick in the teeth for smaller guilds.
Apart from that I dunno. I just ran around the borderlands with a bunch of friends and picked on the backlines of shitty pug zergs while giggling about it on TS. Maybe a new type of objective that encourages roaming? Who knows anymore.I think I just miss my friends man. I hope they're doing ok these days.
