Holy shit, this game is infuriating. EVERYTHING in this game feels unsafe! You can't ever attack because everyone is always constantly blocking forever or countering! The second you go in for a grab, that's when they throw out their attacks. Going in high stance in duel phase does different shit for different characters, i.e slowly generates meter, slowly regenerates health, Machamp and Garchomp ignore weak attacks in high stance, etc

Most characters low stance weak attacks are plus a billion on block or hit so low weak into grab works a hell of a lot online

Ending a combo in the corner bounces your opponent off the wall back to midscreen but generates a fuckton of meter for you and does 30 damage to them.

I don't feel like dual mode footsies are really footsies. There is no spacing with normals, There is not much hit confirming especially with that gay ass lag and buffer and limbs don't have special properties like upper body/lower body invul it all ties to the RPS. You can make it work though. Me coming from a traditional fighter background lets me apply some of the tactics.

No, it's not really footsies at all. I come from SF as well, and you can't really play SF footsies like you can Pokken footsies.

It's really the closest thing you have to footsies, you're right that you can make it work though. There's no poking with normals, but just kind of walking back and forth and feeling eachother's range is a good idea.

Each projectile has properties weaknesses and advantages. Zoning is basically keeping the opponents at bay using keeping those properties in mind. Just throwing shit out is predictable and only works on people that don't know what they are doing. It makes you predictable and easy to punish. Not especially. Spamming would imply you're just throwing them nilly willy with no adaptation whatsoever, like a Fire Blast spamming Braixen who completely falls apart the second someone focus attack through it, while other would try to spice it up with anti airs / air to air or even baiting punishes with the broom air dashes. Chandelure has her own long limbs and ranged command grab for mid-range pressure, Suicune has the ice wall for shielding and okizeme etc.

Spamming only sorta works at a certain level but you can't really just roll your head on the gamepad and expect it to work against competent players.

Your air X is amazing both in and out of field mode

Agility goes through projectiles. Quick attack goes through projectiles excepting a bit at the beginning and end of the move

Pressure hard with Libre's fast normals and big damage off of hitconfirms and when they start trying to counter or block start tick throwing or using the net command grab (back A).

You can use the net command grab in field mode with down A, it's great for when you've gotten people to respect your dive kick and quick attack in field mode.

Down A in duel phase is armored, so if someone is trying to constantly pressure you with attacks that leave them out of your punish range throw out the stunner.

can't remember name of supplier pokemon, but pick the one that gives you health + synergy boost, since you have lower hp than other pokemons and your synergy is op and your main advantage..
b+a+a (hold second a down for a little, if your opponent is shielding), followed by down a, side a or grab works pretty fine imo.
Also, you should def. get good at grabbing your opponent every time you have the chance due to the hp regen + synergy boost
