That's about everything to June. The further it goes out, the less you'll probably care about overlapping your unlocks with events. Something else to consider is unlocking MC1s that you can get from elite dungeons, but from near the bottom of the current lists; those dungeons start hitting really hard later on (like 120+ hard)

If you need 5*, waiting for Ramza is your best bet. If you only need 4*, Vaan can do the job very well but he shows up again in an event in a bit over a month (and after Ramza).
If you need 5* Support right now, you're limited to characters that have weaker damaging stats like Faris.

I wouldn't spend a Soul on them though, I'd just wait for Ramza.

In Final Fantasy X (the ps2 version, i never played the ps3 one), when you play Blitzball, you are able to hire players. When the contract with a player ends, you get asked if you want to extend the contract. Then you get asked for how many matches. Then you get told the sum of money, and then confirm it (or not).

That interface bothered me a lot, because it was just terrible. They expect me to say how many matches i want to hire the player for, without showing me how many Gil he costs or how many Gil i have myself???

And if i say 99 matches, and that suddenly makes 10,000 Gil, and i only have 5,000, the game will say welp not enough Gil, contract ended, the player is gone.

So i tried making my own interface (pic related).
Needless to say, i am absolutely terrible at design stuff, and also english isn't my native language. But i think this interface gives much more information and is much more usable than the terrible original interface.

Though if I unlocked earlier I was looking at Lenna, Gilgamesh, and probably Terra based on recent parties I've seen in the thread and past knowledge I have reading your guys' conversations before starting the game.

About Gilgamesh, what makes him valuable? I looked on http://chapter731.net/ffrk/index.html and he doesn't have a particular stat he excels at. Is it his skill pool or SBs?

You can check the players status screen and it tells you how much they cost per game and how many games are left in their contract. The only in-game solution is to check their status regularly so you know when the contracts will expire and how much that player costs in advance.

Having Knight 3/Samurai 2 allows a character to use the Draw Fire and Retaliate combo (Retaliate making a character invulnerable to most physical attacks and responding with a counter attack, Draw Fire forcing enemies to target that character with physical attacks), which is pretty strong early on and, in combination with some attack boost RW (such as Advance, Planet Protector, or the upcoming Shout), can help carry you through +, ++, and even +++ battles. You can attack a character with Retaliate status with your own team and still counter-attack into the enemy, which makes it easy to turn your entire party damage output into "whatever the Retaliator can do"

Even discounting that set-up, though, Knight has gotten a bunch of good moves and will soon get Saint Cross, which is a double-hit holy elemental attack that selfcasts Esuna+Regen. Dragoon 4 means he gets the elemental jumps (equivalent to -ra spellblades) and leeching leap. Samurai 5 has a bunch of AoE attacks (Flashing Blade hits twice and can't miss). Combat 5 means he can use Lifesiphon, which greatly improves SB meter gain (if you have an SB on the character you want to use).

Basically, Gilgamesh is a very flexible physical fighter.

The only problem with it is that is that it suffers from the same problem that the rest of the plot does: poor pacing when taking into account gameplay. There are a couple of places in the game where, due to sudden increases in difficulty or extremely convenient sidequests, you'll go hours without anything relevant happening at all and then get thrown back into a normal pace for a few hours until it happens again.

I haven't heard comlaints about the political nature of it aside from that that didn't boil down to "I don't want to pay attention to anything this complicated while playing a game", and while I suppose its not a competely irrelevant argument to vidya in general it's one that I tend to disregard.

I just got the english patch for 12 izjs and looking at the classes it seems very few are actually capable of magic, but magic, as i recall, is the main ability you use in 12.
To that end, would a team with all 4 mages plus the dragoon and hunter be good?
The hunter would tank, the uhlan would have expose and wither, the time mage would have addle and shear, and then of the other three mages, the white mage would be fran so she can steal.

The only issue I foresee is that the Hunter uses evasion to tank, no? Some enemies completely ignore that stat. Also, your cast times and queue will require more management and you lose powerful weapon combos. Is magick worth those downsides?
