I just finished the Descent, and it was really fun. Though the Guardian boss fight was a complete shitshow and I only beat it because of Blackwall's ungodly tankiness. That and the Whirlwind of Steel ability to pull things toward you can actually move the Guardian's pieces around.

What difficulty are you playing on?
I'm doing normal difficulty as a mage. I used death magic at the beginning so I had an ability that leeched life. I got tons of potions at the beginning of the game too. Also enemies died really easily as i put all ALL of my points in magic before anything else.
And for the whole "socialism" thing, I didn't see any of that. Was just doing my own thing and telling everyone smugly to fuck off.

He's just kind of boring, it's not like the whole "he lied to you" thing is a deal-breaker, considering how many girls love Solas, but it just generally feels like the writers just didn't do anything to make his story more endearing or interesting. Events just unfold without you really caring about them, Blackwall talks about wanting to do good, helping people, then he leaves and you ((in most cases)) bail him out of jail and everything's fine. It may just be me, but the writers and/or the guy voicing Blackwall himself just feel like they didn't put any effort in to make me care about the character.

Hello everyone! Just started playing Inquisition for the first time a few days ago. Haven't gotten too far yet so I will probably stay out of this thread for fear of spoilers but I had a quick question:

I just acquired Vivienne and I was wondering if there was a canon type of magic she uses (between fire, lightning and frost). I know everyone gets specializations or whatever later, but I don't want to level her up in fire magic if some other character comes down the line who's already a master at it. If there is no canon answer, which path do you suggest?

DA2 had it so that once you get enough approval/dissaproval with a character you get a bonus special ability, if I remember correctly they were still battle stat bonuses, but usually only for that character.

There were some exceptions, I think Isabella's approval buff was a full party thing.
