well I can see why you would think so, but DAI had more going on. the Solas twist was really unexpected and cast the game in a completely different light. you also weren't a "chosen one" in DAI, it literally turns out that wasn't the case, you simply happened to be in the right place at the right time.

but you are specifically chosen by Duncan and then only you survive the joining because of reasons, Alistair immediately gives all power to you, and only you have the power to recruit massive armies and only you can kill the archdemon.

in comparison, the inquisitor gets pulled into the role, but most everything happens around him and to him, not because of him. you get to kill Cory but the actual threat and antagonist slips through your fingers, just the way it happened with Hawke.

You can translate codexes from Mythals temple and ask It for translations. I hate how you can drink it as an elf mage but apparently Morrigan is a special snowflake who can hear the voices for some supermage reason.

Range really is just as important as being able to act purely by voice and while a distinct voice can surely help, it isn't really all that helpful when everyone will just think "oh yeah, this is X from that other thing" and lose all sense of immersion instantly.
Steve Blum and Nolan North both have extreme range but everyone just hires them to do one voice because those voices are well-known from successful projects and as a result, many people will start thinking that they only know how to do one voice despite the fact that they can do a lot of them.
Now, being able to do a lot of distinct voices is the motherlode of voice acting.

Oh definitely. I love Steve Blum and I wish he wasn't typecast so often. Does Alix Wilton have much of a range anyway though? I've only ever heard her making her Traynor voice, even in her pre-Traynor smaller roles. I didn't know that she voiced Cauthrien or Mhairi before I looked on IMDb just now but that might be because it's been quite some time since I last played Origins and never really paid attention to how similar the voice was.
Jo Wyatt has a very distinct voice and lisp but until DA2 and Witcher 3, she didn't really have any large roles so her voice never stood out much more than just sounding like her voice but once you've heard the voice for many hours and have a real name on it, hearing it again all kinds of places makes it stand out.

Why the ever-loving FUCK does activating a torch/lockeddoor/bashable wall as the wrong class cause your companion to say "Want me to try?" instead of just having them do it.

Swapping to them, walking up to it, and activating it feels awkward and pointless.

Especially when it's torches, which are fucking everywhere in some places. It's too much of a pain in the ass to swap constantly.

Having to swap to them adds nothing to the game whatsoever. It is just tedius and pointless.
If the mechanic someone made the game deeper or more interesting, or even if it were somehow fun, then I wouldn't mind.
But it just makes something that could be a button press and makes it into a character swap, movement, a button press, and then another character swap for NO reason.

I'll make Sera into a dagger user because it's sort of a win/win: She does good DPS and I get to watch her annoying ass die over and over.

Meanwhile my melee DPS sits in melee aoe range and dies to enemies I have Taunted.

The answer to everything is specializations and time.

Also, you get proportionally more powerful than enemies as time goes on thanks to skills and equipment. Sword/Board becomes unkillable to the point where you can solo the entire game if you spec into champion.
