From the little I know about this game, it looks pretty damn cool. However I checked out the game's website to try to get more information about it, but don't fucking understand it... all I see are price tags from $20 up to like $25,000.

I know that this is basically just a bunch of whales and pent up demand for a good space game throwing money at the devs due to the entertainment industry not wanting to fund something that isn't a tried and true rehash that's already done to death... but uhhh, wtf is going on? Is this just going to be some sort of high-tier-shit Korean P2W game or something?

If I wanted to just play a FPS+space flight game, go exploring with friends in a comfy space ship and shoot up shit along the way, what would I have to do?.. I wouldn't have to spend like $500 or do some soulless MMO grind would I? And what's with the crew sizes for ships, can you like get NPCs to stand in for when the players aren't doing stuff (so you could say, operate a 5 crew ship with 2-4 people, or idle in the ship while the NPC's fly it from point A to point B)?

My advice would be to get an aurora LN or mustang package, as you gonna need it anyway, and then play the game and decide if you feel like sinking more money or not.

Seems to be a Squadron 42 ship only. It's a flaghip UEE builds in response to Vaduul attack and subsequent war. I don't think it will even appear in the first part of single player campaign , except maybe in the very end as the end/post credit sequel hook.

Thanksgiving-ish, during the Anniversary sale, when clever and sly Chris Roberts sold a concept snub-fighter ship: P-72 Archimedes.

This 30 dollar ship had LTI because it was technically a concept sale, and then everyone and their mother was buying the P-72 Archimedes to CCU (cross-chassis upgrade) into any other ship that had a higher value than 30 dollars, which is all but 2 ships in the game.

Mind you, during this time at the anniversary sale, all the other concept ships you can't normally get, were up for sale again. Chances are, you might not be able to get LTI again unless there's somehow another concept sale with LTI and low-cost (like 30$). Chances are, that won't happen again.

If it does though, it may be next Thanksgiving when Chris Roberts opens up the LTI gate.

However, I'm very interested in the PU, so I'd actually be motivated to put the time into AC to git gud if I didn't have doubts about the game coming out as promised. Well, they're going to balance the shit out of the Constellation until it can take a beating and dish out enough damage to force a stalemate between 3 Hornets.

Its disadvantage will mostly be heavy fighers and things like Gladiators, which it will have a hard time avoiding the hits of.

Right now a Gladius can beat it to shit without much trouble because everything is fucked, thats what Connie owners are complaining about.

All missiles are terrible right now, and can't target for shit. So on one end of the fight-y freighters scale we have the Cutlass that has a 210m/s SCM speed and holds 33 units and on the other end we have the Constellation Taurus which does a SCM of155m/s and holds 300+ units

And in the middle there's the Freelancer which has a SCM speed of 170m/s but holds only 55 units.

Yeah, I'm not seeing a situation I'd ever want to use a Freelancer with those stats. The lancer either needs to be faster or hold more cargo to scale better with the other ships.

/scg/ i have a question related to hardpoints/ship weapons, i am relatively new to the game

I own a gladius and have opted to switch out the pivoting S1 lasers on the wings for fixed S2 lasers

I can put a S2 laser on the nose gun but it wont attach without the scorpion mount which makes the laser a pivoting weapon no matter what.

How can i set up the nose mount to be fixed so that the shots line up exactly with the fixed wing mounts, hence i can hold both LMB/RMB on the same target at once

Why the fuck do we still have different speed limits for different ships including your ship going faster if it is badly damaged. They should just give everything the same top speed and let people figure out themselves how fast they really want to fly their ship depending in their acceleration and maneuverability. Weight, damage, engine power and even the fucking loudout would still come into consideration with that system and you could still balance everything around the acceleration alone instead of having those retarded different top speeds on every ship like we have now.
