Best Waifu

I'm kinda having problems with the final boss Gehrman. I get him down to like half or a quater of his health left, but after that he's too aggressive. However, I feel like I could stunlock him. I need a weapon with high range which is easy and swift to swing. Tried my luck with the Tonitrus, Saw Spear and Ludwig's Blade but in the final phase he's simply to fast. I'd use the Chikage but I don't even meet the requirements.

Also I'm considering to summon someone else for this, but I want the Burial Blade really bad. Will I be able to port out of the arena before the very last boss comes down so I can buy it without it immediately going to NG+ (while having someone summoned)?

Blood damage is treated as physical, so 27% gems work on it just like thrust or blunt. People only go autistic over bloodtinge gems because it's an extra 5% damage each and 15% more damage in total is quite a lot. On the chikage, it's ideal since the untricked form is total dogshit and you'll never be hitting R1 unless you're tricked.

Bloodletter is different because the untricked mode is actually good, and the HP penalty for tranforming means that if you untrick to use your gun, you want to stay untricked for a while. You can't afford to be constantly switching back and forth so you want to make the most out of the untricked weapon so that you have something to use alongside your gun.

If you summon you run risk of your cooperator killing the boss after before you can die to it on purpose to not advance to NG+.
Don't try to stunlock him, just play super defensively and wait for him to do an attack you can easily parry. From what I've seen when people have problems with those kind of bosses the vast majority of the time they play way too aggressively and just try to mash them down. Use the first 2 phases to get a feeling for his attacks and learn which you can easily Parry, he doesn't do anything really new in the last phase just his movement gets a bit faster, the Parry timing will be the exact same as at the start so if you internalize it there you can very easily Visceral him to death.

In the last phase of the fight. the witches gain attack spells. It's really odd, as they usually never even use them but occasionally will just spam them relentlessly.

They'll either cast the same binding spell as the brainsuckers and then give you the eye-gouging grab attack that the old ladies in yahar'gul do, or else they'll cast an AoE explosion. The explosion is dangerous because it does like 500 damage and knocks you down. If you're really unlocky, they can cast it again time before you're able to get up and combo it until you die.

I've fought them about a dozen times and only ever had them actually start casting shit on me once, but it's quite the surprise when they do. Maybe it's insight related.

It's pretty bad, anon. If you don't give them the L2 they so desperately crave then you can just rush down their slow and ungainly tentacles all day. The only decent attack in the moveset outside of the jojo pose is the tricked dodge-attack and it only punishes disengages. If you dodge aggressively they have nothing.

You are dodging the wrong way. Also when he gets low I usually just run in circles around the outer edge of the arena and wait for him to throw up lava. He just sits there for 10 seconds whenever he does, so that's plenty of time to run back to him, hit him 2-3 times, and get away to safety again. It's 100% safe as long as you keep moving and don't do something dumb like run into him from behind.

If you want some fun, spend your spare shards on a repeater in the meantime and bone ash it against bosses. You can blow bosses like Amelia and Paarl right the fuck out.

Remember not to waste too much upgrade material on your interim weapon. You don't need a +6 to kill Amelia when you have bone ash and you can sprint through all of the enemies in Cainhurst and just parry Loggy to death.

How is 40/40 garbage? The damage lost by losing 10 points in your main scaling stat is more than made up for by the points in the other stat, and it lets you use basically every weapon. The damage you deal will be almost identical, so is it just because you waste levels by doing 40/40?

The one in the cave has no maximum leash range. Instead, it just can't path around a chokepoint by the cave entrance. If you bait it into lunging through that chokepoint, you can lure it anywhere around the map. It's hostile to almost everything.
