Except it doesn't. It's a way to buff skills without touching their numbers. Which is what they need to do. We don't need more flameblasts or vaal sparks out there. Groundslam wasn't touched because the aoe was awkward. Threshhold jewels fixed that. Cold snap was awkward because of power charge consumption. Jewels baby.
If they ever decide on reworking skills then it might become a problem. GGG's lazy though. I doubt they'll do much more than tweak the aoe and maybe pair it with a threshhold jewel later down the road.

What I am concerned about are how they make you grab so many jewel slots on the passive tree.

Untrue. It's not even a buff. Just because someone sacrifices a jewel socket and has to take surrounding nodes to fulfill a requirement doesn't mean it's a straight up buff, if anything it's more of a "here you go, it's there now" thing, they still sacrifice the jewel socket and surrounding nodes.

Strongbox detonate dead and player detonate dead are both two different skills. Also different is that Strongbox detonate dead doesn't do 50% fire 50% phys but it still retains the chaining explosione of Vaal Detonate dead.

Detonate Dead's AoE for players got increased by about 60% since the 1.3 deployment patch so I wouldn't be surprised if boxes got changed in a minor way as well. There's no one around in the office to ask these questions to so you'll just have to take my word for it until then

Well you dont really save up all 125 and then use them at once.

You keep like 4 i your inventory so if you get the 5th T1 you can dump it in a circle, and you dump the rest in a stash tab, and once you are seing that the tab is getting cramped, just do a few dried lake runs to use them up.

Also trade them with others to get full sets of the higher tiers.

Sucks if you have 4 tabs only, but what can ya do.

Yes. Additional sockets on armor box means a high chance of 6s, and corruption raises the chance of getting a 6l dramatically. Mirrored is also nice on armor strongbox.

For jewelry corrupted means a high chance they are going to be rare, so you want high numbers.

And i mean more sockets on weapon and other strongboxes can also be good, but a lot less likely to get 6s.

I'm running:
Flameblast with Increased Area of Effect, Faster Casting, and Added Cold Damage

Spell Totem with Storm Call, Increased Area of Effect, and Faster Casting.

I'm using Discipline, Clarity, and Herald of Thunder.

Is EE worth it on this build? I'm not sure how it interacts with things like added cold damage.

What else would you guys recommend? I'm new to making builds.

Increased duration will have no effect on regular haste. There is no gain from stacking them, you're right. I suspect he has two because he wants to stockpile charges of vaal haste. He has probably just dumped all the gems there because it fits neatly in a 4L.

there's tons of viable builds right now, but that doesn't mean there's variety right now

80% of the ladder will always be playing the cheapest and most braindead option (spork/flameblast/flame totem/bladefall/etc)

There's a difference between something being able to clear almost everything in the game and things that are viable.

The viable stuff at the moment is the braindead clear entire screen stuff since they nerfed reflect mobs hard that only they reflect and not the group (they should put reflect back to how it was to be honest).

They removed the thing that kept mass AoE clear the entire screen builds in check, but they didn't nerf these skills or builds.

Reason that people stomp over content is removal of things that kept it in check that I mentioned above, also beyond added a layer of difficulty.

Cast on crit just needs to be removed its broken overpowered ever since it was in the game same with old CWDT immortal call setup.

The people who race to 100 usually have a group to support them otherwise you don't stand a chance. You can no life in a week to 91 but people by then are already 98 because they run in groups putting domination on everything with a guy that has such ridiculous damage that speed doesn't matter and you earn much faster xp than everyone else due to it.

Tornado shot has a built-in 'shotgun' effect nigger, tons of other skills don't.


At the end of TS there's 3 subprojectiles, if you use it with multiple projectiles, one subprojectile from each main projectile can hit the target = shotgun
Stuff like Freezing Pulse no longer has shotgun because you can only be hit once - and freezing pulse was a popular fairly modest build.

play something with totems, a noncrit IW totem build can be really safe. Personally I'd go with flame totems, they're not as good as they were specially in early game but once you can use controled destruction they're better than they were. Just keep in mind the build would not have the highest DPS or clear speed but it would be pretty safe
