Even with top gems, at base stats beast mode twinking is hard in the woods. You'll get a few hilarious invasions like this but a lot of the time you'll just be R1 mashed to death by three people with more sensible weapons. So I usually went with the hunter's axe or saw cleaver every time I started off, so I thought I'd try out the threaded cane for once.

I think this might be the worst weapon I've used in the series. Is this a weapon for hipsters or something? Transformed, it just clings off the walls and accomplishes nothing?

Pretty much. It's pretty good once it's arcane +10 or you have 50 skill and it's fully upgraded but yeah it's a shit starter weapon. People will meme on you because it has range but the hunters axe does as well, and the saw cleaver you can just walk up and stunlock whatever it is with transformation attacks. Worst starting weapon.

Most people just run the 15% and 10% hp runes with the 20% stam one. The rest of the runes don't really offer anything that could beat out raw stats, and the stam rune lets you get away with near-base end and still keep up with gougers.

BB has the same problem as every souls game in that the runes/rings that just dump useful stats on you are almost always more valuable than the ones with unique or interesting effects.

No, you can dodge infinitely. Here's what I mean.

100 stamina, costs 20 to attack, you attack 4 times.
You have 20 remaining and spend 18 deflecting a block (blocking, stamina spent to reduce/remove damage with shield).Rolling cost 5 stamina, you roll and now you're negative. It just shows you out of stamina, but because you've spent more than you had there's a significant delay before it refills.

In bloodborne regardless of how much stamina you have left there is the same delay to regenerate, and you can (with no stamina) continually dodge.

If you're upgrading regularly and exploring the main areas you'll get blood gems that are good enough easily to bump your damage up more.

The only stat that really makes a difference in the main game is VIT honestly.

DLC is set for end game levels, 60-70 to start is good but if you buy it you can enter just after Amelia. Best course of action is to probably keep playing until something weird happens in the hub world (you'll know when it happens). Then go through the DLC.

Veterans of /bbg/, how can i deal with Amygdala? Currently in depth 4 Cursed chalice and I can't deal any reliable high damage. The Nightmare frontier one wasn't a problem as I still dealt ok damage to his legs, but here I barely scratch his health bar.

I found them easier myself but that's because each of my parries with 50 Skill pretty much oneshot them. maria took a little bit to take down as her blood obfuscates her attacks a little.

Kos took forever but then I got to the point where I was parrying him in both forms and won.

Ludwig and Laurence though were near impossible because of my tactics. I'm so used to parrying that it's hard for me to get out of parry mode.

It's the same strategy regardless of what weapon you are using. The only exception is high BLT builds which can just shoot her in the face repeatedly.

It's something you have to experience, but you've probably played enough games to understand when explained. Some moves are preceded with an audio prompt or a special effect which lets you know you need to get the fuck out of there.

For instance, with Elvis he says something before you need to backflip. Side dodging is mostly for positioning to help you get behind/beside/line up baddies.

I tried it out, rushed to get it to use until I could get my beast claws.

It turned out to be significantly stronger than my beast claws, and rapes a ton of shit with keeping good range at that.

It's a solid weapon with a fun moveset, that gets bonus damage against a good amount of shit and is flexible build-wise.

for bloodtinge you really only have the choice between chikage or bloodletter, and if you plan on going full BLT then you don't really need the other stats at all so some good all-around weapon like the cleaver or saw spear would work

He's done with the dark souls continuity. Why tie yourself down to one? The lore is pretty good with dark souls but 3 games is plenty enough to explore that. BB was a breath of fresh air and has absolutely fantistic lore.

X souls will probably play very much like DS3/BB and just have a totally new world to explore. It might not even be a "souls" game as such, it might be a different thing like bloodborne.

Can someone explain this meme to me? He was way easier than Ludwig and Orphan, super easy to dodge, second form only has like 4 moves and they're all easy to dodge.

Also, I wasn't super impressed by the DLC bosses. Mariah and Ludwig were the only good ones, Laurence is just a reskinned Cleric Beast, Living Failures is just a throwaway fight, and Orphan was disappointing as the finalboss (Should have been Ludwig).

It's good because of bolt but any weapon slotted bolt is better. Using the bolt buff quickly uses up durability when roughly as fast as you can get the tonitrus you can get a bolt gem in lower cathedral ward to slot into whatever weapon you want.

whirligig saw is good for 50str/25skl and will compliment the relativly low range of the beast claw.

Fist staggers most enemies including lots of bosses I think so it can be quite helpful.

When you beat the boss you'll be able to do a chalice dungeon and get some good gems to beat the enemies behind the door you unlocked.
