Get the colonial charter mod. Vanilla Banished is bland and too shallow. Among other things, CC adds the ability to build water cities.
when are we gonna get fifteen pages in /vg/ jfc

JFC?

Does anyone else like making islands with several cities and towns?
pity bump
>>126370960
>>126370960
I normally make one big city, but I like what you've made there.
Just got Cities Skylines.
My question: is there some kind of mod packs for it? Something like "install this to get all the cool features and thousands of new buildings, roads and decorations". Steam workshop is filled with thousands of small mods, usually just one building, road, bush, etc. It looks like a big chore to install all that one by one.
Also what mods are "essential"? I checked the pastebin in OP, and the list looks somewhat short. Also will those mods work if I don't have After Dark expansion?
>>126377818
Sometimes "Collections" are what you're looking for.
>>126377818
The list is short because they are essential. More buildings, snowy terrain and that kind of stuff you're asking for is not essential. Yes, they will work even if you don't have after dark.
anyone has after dark DLC files?
i have original Skylines on Steam but I want to pirate the DLC only and every version i saw was full game with dlc, anyone can share?
>>126382981
Just pirate the whole game, faggot.
>>126376392
It's essentially one biggish city with a couple of smallish towns connected by train and highway
It all works pretty well apart from ambulances travelling hundreds of miles to reach a patient
>skylines
So how do i level up industry? preferably without cargo depo and spamming plazas?
>>126393586
cargo ,transportation and fire safety are the only things that will have a noticeable impact on industry levels i think
>>126393586
You also shoudn't level or build high comercial or offices if you dont have the appropriate levels of education among your citizens
>>126383297
but i want muh workshop and muh hours played on steam and the notification that i'm playing something so that i dont get invites
>>126398071
Then pirate it and use steam's exe.
Sorry for coming and asking a straight recommendation, but I'm looking for a CB that's as "chill" as Banished. Doesn't matter if it's older or whatever, it's just great to run with ambient music and some of the mods are pretty decent.
Just got cities Skylines and holy fuck I don't know what I'm doing.
Last building game I played was the ORIGINAL sim tower.
How do I get water to my people when I have a lake but not a river. I'lll pollute them if I put both the intake and outtake valve things in it.
Besides the wiki is there a guide for this game that explains things to tards like me
>>126398730
Just watch a youtube tutorial.
r8 my completely-barren-from-any-kind-of-problem city
I currently gave up on cs because it's impossible to make a decent nice looking beach
>>126399116
Of course it's impossible to make beaches if you build roads on said beaches.
>>126399624
I think it's even more impossible if you don't
>>126401126
It's not. You can simply put props wherever you want.
>>126401223
but then connecting the leisure and tourism stuff gets a bit hard, i guess i can use the pedestrian road for that, but i don't know if it would negatively affect my tourism zone, guess i'll have to test it sometime
Also the tourism and leisure buildings will be stupidly high above the water if i don't level the beach like that, i wish they went lower and not higher than the placement height

It's ok, anon. There are some anons still lurking. Just post whatever questions you have or something and we'll answer.
>>126416559
Is it me or are the enter/exit lanes for the starter highway crooked? Also is there a mod that makes them look like normal highway entrance/exits or is it meant to look this stupid.
Also how do I know good placements for things like schools/hospitals and more importantly, landfills and their position to the road network.
>>126416697
Yeah, one of the lanes is longer than the other. I don't know what you mean by normal highway entrance/exit.
Don't place schools and hospitals near intersections since you will get a lot of people crossing the street and blocking traffic through that intersection.
Put landfills far from your city, somewhere in your industrial zone or maybe even farther than that. Just like the industrial zone, try to give the landfills an access to the highway unless they're already placed in an industrial zone which already has a direct access to the highway.
>>126417038
Just that no highway entrance or exit looks retarded like the default one in this game
Why do landfills need access to the highway?
>>126417156
Because the highway is the backbone of your city since It provides fast transport to different zones.
>>126417462
holy shit thanks for that webm
>>126417462
>>126417548
This is called an essential mod for a reason. If you look at >>126417612 you will notice traffic lights in the roundabout. With this mod, you can turn the traffic lights off and assign proper lane priorities.

Are there any city building games where you don't have to build a major modern metropolis that doesn't even have a history because it started in the last 100 years, but where you can build a city that goes through historical phases?
I mean, you know, like actual European cities, where you have an ancient core, medieval core, expansion during the austrohungarian empire, etc.
I've been looking at city building games and they all literally assume that the city is starting from nothing in CURRENT YEAR.
>>126430303
I presume that the bus lane is modded? Just bought the dlc but haven't played yet.
>>126450115
Nope. Every game is CURRENT YEAR.
The perfect city-builder starts in the New World in the 1600s, and begins as more of an RTS-cum-Dwarf Fortress where your problems are feeding and clothing everyone, and you actually experience combat and really basic stresses. Then you progress through real life history, and as you progress you have to cope with political as well as technological change. It would also be really really hard to destroy things, and also really really hard to plan ahead because even though you know it'd be the perfect spot for a train line in 150 years you NEED to put a windmill/canal/palisade there now.
As you move through history the core gameplay changes to reflect how the way that we live has changed. The beginning is Banished, and then you get to the various wars that wracked America and have a more RTS experience, and then the industry boom turns it into a bit of an economic game and tycoon thing, and then following the boom your population fucking explodes and the real city-building kicks in towards the mid 1800s.
Alas, it will never be.

A BOX DILDO WORTHY OF MY MAJESTY
>>126417612
>>126417462
This is fucking disgusting.
A highway running through is all you need.
>>126447828
Yeah, it's the problem with highways.
>>126459005
You are fucking disgusting, you piece of shit. That's one way you have of starting out. After you have unlocked highways, you have to extend the starting highways and make them go straight past the roundabout.
>>126459497
>Not using one way roads as interim highways so you don't need to bulldoze any developed infrastructure
It's like you're not even trying! I love you to death but come on, buddy, you gotta give some effort!
>>126460037
But I am already using 6lane 1way roads like that. After unlocking highways, you can extend the ones you've made here >>126417612 without breaking the roundabout.
>>126460272
You logic seems to imply that you think roundabouts have a status that is not shite
>>126460627
>roundabouts are shit!
I want this meme tom die already.
>>126461065
It will die when it stops being true
>>126451672
Just got city skylines and played a couple of games. What are the essential mods, my roads are such shit and I get odd angles sometimes even when I use the snapping tool
>>126469042
Read the OP. That problem with the roads can't be fixed, sadly.
>>126451672
You are asking too much of the simple entertaiment medium that games are, It's supposed to be fun and challenging not a fucking simulation of history, i know this is a problem with most people on 4chan, but seriously, you people should go live your fucking lives and maybe you'd expect less of games and also not be so jaded about it.
Most people don't really
>>126471603
>you should settle with what's available and not ask for more
No, fuck you.
benp
Somewhere I went wrong. Any advises on how to fix this?
>>126484826
Exit to main menu, delete save and start again.
I loved SimCity 4 when it first came out, and I'm thinking of buying City Skylines? Is it worth buying considering I still have my copy of SimCity 4 around? I don't care for graphics that much if that helps
>>126485835
Go get it. It's the next big city builder that people actually play after SimCity 4 was the thing. Plenty of ways to autism in this game, so as long as you don't have ADHD and won't be all like "muh traffic simulator; nothing to do after 30 minutes" like some people here went, you'll be okay.
Remember to post pics of your cities here
>>126485835
You could always either pirate it, or play it for a little bit and refund it if you don't think you'll like it.
Personally I still prefer Simcity 4.
>>126485835
It's like Simcity 4 in 3D with all of the good parts of SC2013 and none of the bad.
>>126450115
The only game is Tropico 5. It even has actually CURVED ROADS so you can build cities that look like cities and not like circuit boards, but the historical element isn't well fleshed out and there isn't much building variety.
