You know, /utg/, I've been thinking lately, and it just occurred to me that Asriel is absolutely, categorically, undeniably fucked no matter what you do. It's actually kind of amazing.
Chara ruined his shit so hard that no matter what you, a time-travelling demigod of DETERMINATION do, you can never, ever unfuck him. I mean, most characters who suffer bad ends at least get to die. Okay I want you to think about what you just said. Asriel backs out and doesn't go through with it and as a result dies and then comes back and suffers what can be argued is a fat worse then death. Even at his worst Asriel never permanently did any harm to anyone but himself (everything he did was reversed) and it can be argued that he wasn't truly responsible for the things he did as Flowey. As you said, Frisk can't save, *you* can, and the game ends with you on the title screen holding command over the ability to save. Once you leave the game in that state I would presume you still hold monopoly over said power regardless, so the power to save will never fall back to Flowey because the potential to True Reset is always there.
