I've had one earlier but, what's really on my mind is the dream I had about the two guys who shot up Columbine.
And it's kinda sad to think about. I spent time reading and watching the videos they made, to figure out what kind of people they were and why and how they did what they did. The problem with the Asgore Toriel argument is that at its core we don't really know enough about what went down to really judge either of them fully. We don't know when Toriel actually left, we don't know enough about what really went down between the other 6 humans and Asgore aside from he killed them (like were they legit threats, had they been murdering monsters, could they have been convinced from leaving, etc.) Not to mention that the whole game and the good ending that resulted wouldn't have been possible with out the whole collecting souls thing. I can now, in a sense.
So I wake up in a room, on a bed to some noise around me. The room's half-lit through sunlight coming through the blue curtain. We've been out drinking last night and apparently crashed at Dylan's bedroom, who has two beds for some reason or perhaps the other is a converted sofa. I start to get up and notice Eric's lying on the floor facing away from me, doing something. I notice his water bottle seems to be filled with orange soda, oddly. Dylan's getting awake at the other bed at the other side of the room.
Some idle chatter is exchanged, which I have no recollection of. Soon I realize Eric's popping effervescent tablet in the other two our water bottles and I figured that's what he's been drinking. Guess he just likes the taste, or it was for hangover.
Dylan's mother opens the door and peers in, greets us and asks who I am. He lazily introduces me and I greet them politely. She figures out something about my speech pattern (I'm not English native nor live in USA) and asks her son "No one from school, again?", apparently alluding to their lack of friends with classmates, which she's worried about. He just sighs and rolls his eyes.
I thank her for the night's stay. She says something before leaving again. Suddenly I realize/feel like I said possibly something awkward. Dylan just tells me something about language barrier or to similar effect and that no one cares, but now that I'm uneasy I end up waking up,
it's 10 in the morning anyways.
After waking up what stuck was the feeling of how normal activity such things or worries felt like in lives of young men.

And they sorta were. From what I've gathered, the short version is, otherwise cool people with clinical disorders that don't get treated right that never get a positive response for their interests, ideas, plans or behavior slowly turn into angry and spiteful people.
Lot of people just condemn them as insane, but even during the shooting they both ended up not shooting specific people they knew and liked enough to not kill. I think that shows the killings were done in a rage and anger that just wasn't there for certain people they decided were more important than that, even if they weren't very discriminate overall. But that's also what people tend to do when they're angry and full of adrenaline.

Original idea guy here again, one thing I feel is important or interesting to address (aside from Flowey being incapable of love) that I don't really see addressed much, is that he technically can't be their son again in terms of monster biology or whatever without their souls slowly feeding into him again which is how his soul is formed in the first place. They need some way to make that happen. I really don't have any ideas for that though.
