Hey /dsg, am a relativity new to the whole soul series and I am drawing a close to my first Dark souls uno play through and I've been using the lighting spear ever since I picked it.up in the joy zone known as sens fortress. Rolled a knight so far with steady END/STR/VIT upgrades with a spot of faith towards the end wearing havels legs/hands shadow leather +2 chest and Oristen's helmet.

With enough love and care, will it able to drag me through to the end of a new NG+ ?

What do i Skill first? in DS2 I waited till final zone to even skill HP and just went full out AGI/DEX

There's one right behind smelter demon, the boss is easy take off all your armour and get one of the shields with 100% fire and phys dmg reduction where those dwarfs run around. the aura should be counteracted with those healing stones never used them so not sure what they are called exactly

Strength. I think all blunt weapons are strength weapons in 1. Your strength will be multiplied by 1.5 if you two hand your weapon, so having 27 STR will be the most efficient way to take advantage of the scaling. The way HP leveling works in DaS is different, in DaS2 all stats level up HP but in 1 it's only VIT that does it. 30 is the first softcap for VIT, so I'd get that ASAP. Endurance is another good stat to level up.

The black knights are quite tough on first playthroughs, they're basically your parry test.

InDaS2, the heide knight sword is good for any character early game, although you can basicly infuse any weapon with lightning to a pretty good faith weapon. If you don't mind axes, the butchers knife gets very high elemental scaling while still maintaining high strength scaling.For Ds1, all I can think of is the Astora sword.

It's possible to do relatively safe parries in PvE even if you don't know the timing. What you need to do is block the first attack of the black knight's combo, and parry the second one. Start by blocking the whole combo, the sound of his sword hitting your shield will be your timing for the parry.

I've only been 2 handing my bastard sword because of 18 str, but the move set is nice and comes out rather fast. It also does more damage at +7 with magic weapon compared to the MLGS+2.

Hello i had a question about dark souls 2 versions

i very much liked dark souls 1 and played through it many times, but only spent about 3-4 hours on dark souls 2. I bought it on release on steam for full price and felt like a fucking idiot. Something about soul level fucked up and i never saw a single other human being

i saw that scholar of the first sin was on sale, upgrade to my game is 12 bucks

does that include all of the DLCs? and does it improve the game in any way from release? i have not touched it since week 1 basically.

So I started DS again and am just past gaping demon and heading to lagtown but I went for a strength zweihander build again which is what I did on my first try a few years ago.

I am thinking of switching and doing a dex build with katanas and pyromancy and light armor so I can fast roll as a change. How is it with very little poise?

Any tips on rings? I guess the ring that lets you do the flip roll is a given. What else? The one that gives you poise (wolf ring?) ?

Anyway, a major tip is if you are going to be dodging attacks with rolls you should get your adaptability stat to 24, as this will give your roll 12 iframes like in DaS1 (by default it's like 5 or something).
Also you can now use weapons in your left hand instead of that being reserved for just shields, which means dual wielding and shit.

I'm returning to the game as I never completed the final boss of the main game or even stepped foot in the last dlc. I'm having an extremely hard time with the icy tiger. I'm using a dark mastodon halberd and switch to a raw saniters spear when my halberd is at risk. I'm having such trouble with the first tiger boss I decided to figure out how to get the flame weapon pyromancy spell and ended up killing the last sinner to get her ng+ soul. Even with the pyromancy spell I can barely get this boss down to a quarter health, I always get poise broken at some inconvenient time and get my health chucked down in one attack. Besides staying betweem his hind legs are there any other tips for this boss.
