tl;dr for gunslinger advice: get the deliverer gun asap, avoid steady aim perk, make room for the SCIENCE perk later, a fully upgraded alien blaster is the best gunslinger gun in the game unless you find a magic gun before level 41

This post is about a warning to people wanting to roll a Gunslinger, you have two choices as far as weapons go, one is The Deliverer from the early Railroad quests, the second is the Alien Blaster which requires SCIENCE! to upgrade, and level 41 to have a reliable ammo source. but holy shit, the Alien Blaster is by far the most damaging weapon for Gunslingers. But the Deliverer will be your bread&butter weapon until you can find a Wounding, Explosive or something like that or upgrade the alien blaster to accept plasma cells

I made this character thinking Hip-firing would be done all the time but nope, with Hip-fire mods on weapons it was pretty much maxed out to be a short range weapon. semi-long range with aiming. Also, the Steady Aim perks seemed to do NOTHING for pistol hip-firing.

This character started off really fucking strong being a 6/1/1/9/2/7/2 (book to int, bobbleheads to fill everything else out) taking hits like a champ with lone wanderer and toughness and modded up leather armor

Mods didn't get 'rekt' though if you have anything above "new" levels of experience in Fallout modding. I was a beta patch user and it did the same thing to me 2 weeks ago. It took me literally 5 minutes to reenable the plugins, set the inis to read only and launch Fallout 4 externally.

This was a thing in FO3/FNV too, but only if you looted the weapon before you looted the ammo.

Doing that Unlikely Valentine quest, I left with like 2k .45 rounds since everyone had submachine guns with 100 rounds in the magazine.

So you can get a cool 20 plasma cartridges on late game gunners, and 30 fusion cells per institute synth you kill, for example. In Fort Hagen I got like 19 institute pistols and rifles, so 570 fusion cells from the weapons alone.

Virgil's Cave isn't a one time thing. It'll constantly respawn. If you didn't know.

It's not guaranteed, but the cliffs by the river by the Slog have a deathclaw running around everytime I fast travel up to there.

The railroad has a safehouse quest. It's one of the first ones you do. The safehouse is overrun with raiders. I think it's a hospital. Big building with rafters and shit. Anyhow if you go to the very end of the "dungeon" a deathclaw will show up.

You know that one unmarked big radiation pool area of the Glowing Sea where you usually find Bloodbugs galore? Visit it during nighttime/during a radstorm. I usually get 1 or even 2 deathclaws during that time there.

By fairlawn overpass (The overpass with gunners Mccready takes you to) there's a park with ghouls and glowing ones galore in it. You should find a glowing deathclaw.

Head to Lexington around level 30. You'll usually find a Behemoth, but sometimes there will be a deathclaw.

That neighborhood by Libertaria might spawn one when you visit. It's the one where a bunch of sentry bots show up. By the beach.

South of Diamond City and West of the Combat Zone is an unmarked sewer grate which leads to an unmarked sewer filled with raiders who have an illegal chem production for Goodneighbor addicts going. Kill the raiders and go into the chem room. The floor bursts open with a Alpha Deathclaw or something

Go to fort Strong and fuck around. You might find one.

Go south of the Castle and fuck around. You might find one.

Fuck around the Crater of Atom and kill some radscorps. One might show up. Not sure if it's the same as the one by Virgil's cave though because once I killed this one that one didn't show.
