How do you beat Vicar Amelia? Her attacks are easy to dodge, the problem is seeing them. It seems like every one of her attacks involves flinging herself into the camera so that I can't see shit beyond all the fur and bandages. I'm trying to dodge her attacks based on sound but it's not working out too well.

Does the Beast Mode rune give any benefits besides the changed Beast Claw moveset? I really like the way it looks but I don't think I can justify giving up the stamina regen from Hunter if it doesn't do anything else.

This sucks. This weapon sucks. I regret this playthrough immensely.
It wouldn't be so bad if it was just the lack of damage, but it's the lack of damage, lack of reach and lack of stagger all combined. The first phase takes near 20 minutes every time because he always cancels his recovery early into a backdash, chains it 3 times and scuttles off to the other end of the arena after every hit, so I chase him around smacking him for 40 damage before needing to chase him down once more, over and over and over and over again. One fuck up and he one-shots me. Then, I make it to the second phase, where most of his attacks leave him open long enough for 2 R1s (80 damage, holy crap!) before he starts another 5 hit tracking combo.

It's over now but fuck that was the single worst pve experience I've had in this game so far. I'm not even going to bother with the other DLC bosses until I've upgraded the saif so I can toss these shitty ticklesticks in a well.

Friendly reminder to go to your PS4 settings > Sound and Screen > Video Output Settings > RGB Range and change it from automatic to full, do this with the game running to see the changes immediately

If you have a problem wit your HDMI cable like many seem to have your game will change drastically, colours will be a lot more vibrant and the contrast will completely change so dark places are actually dark as fuck and torches are actually useful.
If there's no issue with your HDMI cable you probably won't notice any difference as some have reported.

I've been debating running bloodtinge but seeing the bowblade in action and getting shit on by the chikage was the astral sent sign to start levelling a blt character.
I know that it's just going to be like what happened to me in dark souls. One night got invaded in township by four separate people around 3 or 4 times each all rocking darkmoon blade and falchion. Started a falchion buff build immediately, cheesed pve and pvp like nothing else. Still one of the most broken builds in souls

On a weapon with 200 durability, it goes down to 198 after killing 10 enemies without the gem.
With the gem on, it goes down to 160.

Well yeah, Demon's, Dark and Dark 2 are about demons, souls (which can transform you in a variety of ways) and all sorts of weird fantasy creatures.
Bloodborne is about humans mutating into beasts (werewolves mainly) and a few rare eldritch beasts.
It's sensible for Bloodborne.
I personally have no problem with the humanoid bosses in Dark Souls 2. They were alright.

Also, which souls game did you play and how far did you get? Because Souls isn't some kind of traditional medieval shit by any means. Everything is either decayed, decaying, corrupted or dead usually. You won't be seeing villages of farmers with quests for you or some shit like that, you'll be seeing the ruins of some ancient civilization and finding out their secrets in a desolate scenario.

Demon's Souls and specially Bloodborne have a lot of Lovecraft influence for example. They play differently though. While passivity is rewarded in Souls games, in Bloodborne you're supposed to be aggressive. If you play the waiting game too much you're gonna get screwed, so naturally the gameplay is faster, the characters also move around the scenario at a much faster pace with the dash, the trick weapons can chain into amazing combos and there's the regain system that rewards aggressive playstyles by regenerating a portion of your lost healthy if you immediately counterattack after getting hit.

As I said before, it's a victorian setting, so you won't be seeing knights in shining armor like in the Souls games. Instead, Bloodborne is centered more around the idea of fabric and Miyazaki himself even said that before the game came out.

The level design is excellent and the areas are usually very big and there is also a lot of verticality. It is very easy to miss out on entire areas and bosses if you don't pay attention and properly explore though.

There is multiplayer, you can summon up to two people by ringing a bell, which then will make a "Bell Maiden" NPC appear somewhere in your world. Her presence allows people to invade and kill you and your cooperators.

There are also chalice dungeons, which are randomly generated with different bosses/loot. And you can make your characters focused on many different playstyles with different stats/hunter tools (magic) and weapons. Armors are mostly entirely cosmetic.
