>It's not too late the kill the barn
edition

> Can the game be considered a full release?
No, for all intents and purposes, KSP should be considered still in early access state.
The game is nowhere near being able to stand on its own legs both from a gameplay perspective (career mode is definitely not ready and balanced) and a stability perspective.
There are still major bugs and memory leaks that shouldn't exist on a finished game.

> Are there big issues with the game?
Bugs and instability are still real and frequent problems, as with every product still in beta. Ask in thread for details.

> What are the devs doing?
Modified versions of popular mods are being included in the stock game while the game engine is being upgraded to its latest version. The next major update (1.1) is supposedly going to bring a complete overhaul of the GUI, be 64bit friendly, have a refined physics/heating/aero model and generally perform better.
An external team with heavily questionable experience (Flying Tiger Entertainment) is being tasked with porting the game to PS4, XboxOne and Wii U. They seem to be rushing for an imminent deadline and they are also working on a version of the game that will be obsolete in a few weeks/months.

> Should I buy the game?
KSP is very enjoyable at first, then it usually needs to be modded to retain some sort of longevity, but doing so may dramatically increase the instability of the game. You will be very familiar with the word "Oops!".
The Developers, Squad, have shown many times that they can't handle the project and are trying to squeeze all the money they can with the least amount of effort and with controversial PR tactics.
The general consensus at /kspg/ is that you shouldn't purchase the game, not because the game itself is unplayable, but because most of us agree that Squad does not deserve your money.

The problem is that the easily exploitable minerals in the Earth have already been depleted. A future civilisation, beginning from scratch, would have stone tools but no easy copper, iron or whatever deposits to mine, leaving them stuck forever in the stone age.

>>technological advance much faster by studying our old technology
Not sure how plausible that is, sadly. Advanced technology would effectively be magic to a primitive people (it's effectively magic to most of us, let's be honest) but maybe with simple things it could be done. All our technology would probably have degraded to uselessness long since anyway - how much stuff from the Greco-Roman era survived without being specifically preserved or transcribed? That's only 2000 years.

Laugh at my design, /kspg/.
For some reason it's just not generating enough thrust and lift. I can barely take off and maintain level flight near ground level, any maneuvers including turning or climbing will just cause it to stall.
I loaded up one of the default jets to compare, it uses mostly the same parts but has two engines instead of my six and goes faster, and less wing surface than mine but generates more lift at the same speed. Why?
>>
>>123966768

>>

Thanks, it seems weight was the problem. Didn't realize that most of the default jet's fuselage is empty or just crew quarters and I packed mine full of fuel. Even though my jet is only a bit larger, it weighted 4 times as much.

>>123970026
I wish the surface of Jool looked like that. And I'm glad you like the idea.

Can you explain the logic behind the name "scatterer" -- I know what atmospheric scattering is but it seems like you're now going beyond just atmo.

What's your ultimate scope for this? Can you improve the shitty trees scattered across the landscape too?
>>
>>123970026
Could be done with a color map, to keep things simple.
I'm sure someone will tweak that when you'll release it.
>>
>>123970334
Basically I just picked a name that sounded good. There was a mod called "chatterer" at the time and my initial scope for the mod was to add atmospheric scattering so I thought why not call it scatterer.

After I had the basic proland atmospheric scattering running I realized I had set up most of the framework and it would be much easier to port more of the proland features over so I thought why not give it a try. Probably you're right about the name not really applying anymore but I like the name scatterer so I'll keep it for now.

I actually thought about doing the trees too but haven't investigated it seriously yet. I've seen a mod that makes the terrain scatter collidable but also changes the scatter models, I could probably start working off that. Better yet would be to disable that system and use the proland forest generator but I'm going to need the terrain heights for that and the PQS system is really slow for returning heights so it might not work for more than 20 trees at a time, Although I can imagine a LOD system for "tree heights".

Features I'm thinking about seriously include water interacting with craft, light shafts and full sunglare system replacement that supports any resolution and i s more tweakable than the unity flare system used right now.

>>123970392
>color map

You mean a color picker in the UI? Yeah probably I could add that, don't feel like looking for it now but I'll do it later.
>>
>>123971543
Does terrain scatter still cause memory leaks?
>>
>>123971543
More like a texture to map all the planet and color the water.
But I realize as I write this it might not be possible if the whole ocean has an uniform color.
I'll take a look at your shader and mess a lot with the code, if it's ok with you.
>>
>>123972124
Yeah knock yourself out.

Indeed the whole ocean has a uniform color which complicates things. I thought for local spots you could fade it in as you approach them and if the camera is below a certain altitude, when higher up it could all have a global ocean color.

This is a rocket. it's a nice rocket. It can fly to the moon. noone can build such beautiful rockets like me. Only I am capable of building such rockets. If you ever build a rocket it was not even close to this beauty. Many believe rockets were originally created by me. Because I build the prettiest rockets on the world. But this is a lie. Rockets were created by dr Oppenheimer. An african-american rocket scientist. I learned from him. His rockets were just like mine. Deadly and beautiful. My moon rockets aren't deadly though. These rockets are just beatiful. Beautiful rockets are my study subject. No other man ever build such beautiful rockets. Not even you, mr anon. My rockets have a nice little tip on the front to have some nice little rockets are great for transportation. Rocket. Building rockets my annoy some of you. But let me tell you. It's something only big man can do. Only me. Rockets are like space instruments of cute. Noone has ever saw one in real life yet. But that may change in the future when rockets rule over the world. That will be my rocket. Your future president of the rocket state. None shall defy his orders. My rocket is better than yours. Just remember that. Maybe you could learn from me though. I am more than willing to let you guys know how to create such beauty. You may not be a master like me at the end, but building rockets is, well, rocket science. I saw someone here once posting a rocket. It was quite ugly. I nearly puked. No rocket anyone posted here can compete with mine. You are just a bunch of pathetic hobby rocketeers while my genius is working beyond the limits of regular engineering. One time I even visited Obama, the President of half the world, and he told me I was fucking awesome. When I go to sleep I think about how noone can build beautiful rockets, except me.

For satellite delivery contracts, how the hell do you adjust the argument of periapsis? Wikipedia had some math on it, but I have no idea which direction should I burn to change it.
>>
>>124016767
just fiddle with the maneuver node until you get the desired orbit
>>

It also doesn't help that it's an equatorial orbit, and the ascending/descending nodes go half a circle for a 1m/s burn near the 0 degrees inclination.

>>124018010
But those contracts are usually kinda forgiving, if you're less than, say 10 m/s off the desired orbit it takes it as good anyways. Check if you didn't forget any part on the ship or something the contract specified.

So why do you guys generally dislike career mode?
If the funds mechanics bother you, you can easily increase funds gain to 200% or more so you don't run out. The contracts are fun to do, it gives you some objectives other than "land on X planet". Also plenty of mods that add new contracts.

Badly designed and badly balanced, particularly the science system, tech tree and early progression. The contracts side of career has had nearly 100% of the developer attention while the science side is almost the same as when it was introduced two years ago. It was bad then (for a multitude of reasons) and its bad now.
>>
>>124031180
I liked the science part too. No reason to use low tech stuff in sandbox when you have far superior tools unlocked. It lets you (well, rather forces you) to try out every tech in the game as you progress slowly.
>>
>>124031480
A large proportion of tech tree progression is using larger diameter parts which are better than smaller parts simply by virtue of being larger. That means they are easier to build with, easier to manage in flight, and with the side effect of better performance in game thanks to lower part count. So with those things its already advantageous to unlock those parts, but KSP goes the extra mile and makes those parts outright better (in TWR+ISP) than smaller parts. This has the effect of making a shitload of the game redundant, but all that junk still fills up your editor making finding the good parts amid clutter annoying. Its also a trap for new players thinking the old parts are still useful.

This has been brought up many many many times as being "fucking stupid", its also boring since it leads to less player choice. And no, having the player choose from a blatantly inferior option or something good is not a choice. Heres a post on the forum that goes pretty in depth on this, from the point of view of the Vector (1.25m Shuttle engine added in 1.0.5) being OP as fuck. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/124844-vector-engine-possibly-a-little-too-good/#comment-2268877

As for collection of science, its still a shitty rightclick/action group spam system where you have to guess when you're in a new biome, and is built so poorly for new players a common piece of advice is to fuck about in the KSC picking up bits of dirt rather than flying airplanes and spacecraft to actually progress in a game about flying airplanes and spacecraft.
>>
>>124032393
Is it so bad if there's a progression in technology and later parts are simply better? Sure, it gives you some redundant parts in sandbox, but it also gives a kind of a gameplay/progression feeling for science and career modes. It's also realistic, after all later technology is superior in real life too. You wouldn't send an Apollo today if you wanted to go to the Moon.

Tech progression also makes simple things challenging and feel meaningful. Getting to orbit isn't trivial with shitty rockets, and even if you can get to the Mun, there is good chance you won't be able to land and get back. So you can choose between sending a manned pod, looking around and coming home, or sending a probe, landing and not coming home. A few missions later and you can easily do round trips with heavy landers with better rockets.

>you have to guess when you're in a new biome
While the base game doesn't include that, the scansat mod gives you mid-game option to map planets. Conveniently it's around the same depth in the tech tree where you can reasonably start building landers that visit multiple locations instead of just land once and head home.
>>
>>124033593
>Is it so bad if there's a progression in technology and later parts are simply better?
>You wouldn't send an Apollo today if you wanted to go to the Moon.

Wrong.

Today we're still utilizing rocket systems developed in the 60's and 70's, or utilizing derivatives of those systems. Most improvements to rocketry since then have been primarily in materials (reducing payload/vehicle mass,) and in computer hardware. Look at China - their space station program is using a modernized Salyut station block.

A certain amount of development and creation of redundant parts is ok. That makes sense. But KSP has this problem with almost every part that has a larger counterpart - why use the smaller engine when there's a bigger one that can do the job better?
>>
>>124033593
>Is it so bad if there's a progression in technology and later parts are simply better?
It's arguable for either side, but when that progression is ALSO in size it becomes stupid. It gives you redundant parts in every game mode, though arguably the cost of things like the Vector counts more in career (though you can make recoverable SSTOs to really kill that cost in the first place). You can still have a sense of progression if you have upgradeable parts, and that would also help use some of the huge overabundance of science the game has (its literally infinite with contracts, but there is a "minimum" of around 400k). And the stock tech system is very far from realistic, thats not even an argument.
>using mods to overcome things that are shit in the main game (and have been for TWO YEARS)
You have to realise what you're saying here? And there is actually a way to see biomes in stock, with http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Surface_Scanning_Module but it comes right near the end of the tree, I think only works on biomes (and not "situations" like high in space or whatever), and needs to be right-clicked to check it.

The game is way too reliant on right clicking.
>>
>>124034337
>why use the smaller engine when there's a bigger one that can do the job better?
Price? This is where funds come in. You could send up a satellite on Kerbin orbit for 30k. A single one of the higher end engines costs more than that. Completing various tasks with the cheapest vehicle can be a goal even in sandbox.
>>
>>124035642
You can make an SSTO capable of landing back at KSC and have the only cost be fuel, and you've completely nullified the high cost of those engines. That is exactly why the Rapier, Aerospike and Vector are so expensive.

>>
>>124035642
>This is where funds come in.

It would be, if not for two things. Firstly, usage. If, for whatever reason, you decide you want to use a superheavy launcher, it's likely that you're more than capable of using it to multiple payloads into orbit - easily enough to make it cheaper than a large number of smaller launches on engines that are far less efficient in every way.
Second, is how easy it is to get funds. It's all fine and dandy that a single engine might cost more than an entire rocket, if that engine only costs you a couple of pennies out of your massive amount of money, there's only one choice in all reality.

The balancing of money in Career is just plain atrocious.

The U.S. military *does* treat them the same way, they're just not very vocal about it. For example, when I did amphibious assault training, it was very carefully implied that if we were landing against a modern, entrenched enemy, nuclear weapons were potentially something that would be used to break the enemy fortifications prior to us hitting the beach. I'd imagine that a similar doctrine exists for the other branches as well.
>>
>>124081831
Well, diving air tanks would serve the same purpose as a gas mask, so putting marines in against the nuked targets is probably a pretty good idea.

Except that's not what he's saying. It's a well known fact, based upon numerous leaked and declassified documents, as well as the general attitude of Russian Generals, that Russia would use nuclear weapons on a conventional battlefield, provided they were seen to provide a suitable tactical advantage. Russia lacks the ability to fight a proper slugfest with just conventional weapons, so using anything to tip the balance in their favor, and break enemy units and fortifications before they become a problem is a very sound tactical consideration.

>>124081965
We didn't land wearing diving gear. It was suggested we'd instead be using NBC gear (and had to do drills with that kit during the same training scenarios.)

The bitching that caused was downright impressive.
>>
>>124082323
Gas masks would actually be used, because inhaling radioactive dust would be a great way to get lung cancer.

Clearly says that the nukes will be used only in responce to another nuclear attack or when the very existence of the country is questionable (basically the loss of the war itself). So yeah, this still proves you wrong.

And this suggest that the Russian forces reserve the right to use nuclear weapons if the president of Russia feels the Federations has been threatened first, even if that threat is caused with conventional weapons.

Now, I know this sounds weird and impossible, after all, Russians would probably have to fly aircrafts with their radios turned off and with no identification painting over conflict zones long enough to be attacked and then a crazy-for-power president would declare that's a direct attack to the safety of the Federation. But we all know Russia wouldn't do all that stuff, or bend it's own rules a little, right?

There is a mod somewhere that tells you if you have enough intakes and how high they will collectively last before you flame out.

I have absolutely no idea how it's called tho.

There was also this mod with a second throttle needle that follows the actual instantaneous thrust level of the craft, pretty handy to keep an eye on how air breathing engines are working.

>>124089941
Last time I dealt with SSTOs was when atmosphere was still soup and aero was retarded (and there was no rapier), so take this advice with a grain of salt.

Anyway, I remember it was better to go up, fly horizontal a bit below max air-breathing altitude, go sanic fast at that altitude, pitch up, take advantage of the last bit of air-breathing thrust to gain a bit of angle on your trajectory, then switch to rockets to finish orbit.
Basically, you go as fast as possible and as high as possible with jets so rockets only have to finish the job instead of doing most of it. Just keeping a constant angle usually meant spending way too much into thick atmosphere (when ascent too shallow) or not using jets to their full potential (when too steep). This kind of ascent used globally less fuel than a constant angle ascent.

Again, this kind of manouvers might not be even possible with current aero so I don't know.

So, all the talk we had yesterday about bad career balance in relation to engines has gotten me thinking, and I've started poking at a couple of the realism mods and the way they've reworked engines and fuel.

Essentially, I'm aiming to create a stock rebalance allow the player to customize rocket engine, fuel tank, service module, utility, science, and capsule components (engines, for example, would have type of pumps, number of pumps, igniters, materials ect.) with each different system having an effect on the cost and reliability of the system, and different ones unlocked as the tech tree progressed. Additionally, I'd be upping the cost of most components, and would be looking at ways to incorporate part failures in ways that make sense.

Out of curiosity, is there any interest in a mod like that for anybody here?

One of the things I'm trying to work out is giving parts a couple of durability 'resources' that are reduced by the biome it's in, and modules that can adjust/change that at an increased cost or mass, or a decreased science yield. I'm also considering making experiments take longer to give science, and potentially need specialized types of collected data.

Ultimately, the science system in the game would require a complete remake of the existing systems already in game. I can only add things to make it more complex than pressing the science button.

Burn the atmosphere of a planet off.

>>124105584
Well, having sorta "procEngines" might require our part making skills for some engines (like developing a larger n-nozzle version of the lower stage engine like it was with RD-107/108, when without having a possibility to make a reliable large combustiin chamber they installed 4 small ones).

And for the avionics part the idea was about introducing a resource playing the role of electric power and make avionics and scientific instruments (working as usual in the first versions) consume electric power so you can't overstack and spam with science.

If you want to contact me about that, I can post my Steam

>Even as the Nike was undergoing testing, planners grew concerned about the missile's ability to attack formations of aircraft. Given the low resolution of the tracking radars available at the time, a formation of aircraft would appear on the radars as a single larger return. Launched against such a formation, the Nike would fly towards the center of the composite return. Given the Nike warhead's relatively small lethal radius, if the missile flew into the middle of the formation and exploded, it would be highly unlikely to destroy any of the aircraft. Improving performance against such targets would require either much higher resolution radars, or much larger warheads. Of the two, the warhead seemed like the simplest problem to address.

Did 1.1 launch yet?

This game completely died for me when I realized I can't make a kOS script that works with FAR for the sole reason that the stock thermometer needs time to literally warm up to changes in atmospheric altitude because it's a FUCKING MERCURY THERMOMETER.

I'm trying to use FAR's hangar statistics as a wind tunnel for predictive autopilot calculations in kOS but said statistics are based off of Mach speed which requires ambient air temperature in order to calculate. Being that kOS only works with stock parts, I'm forced to use the stock thermometer, but in order to make an accurate calculation the thermometer needs to remain at a constant altitude for a little while. I messaged Ferram himself on the KSP official forums and he told me FAR reads directly from the game engine which makes it a perfect calculation. So I either have to wait until a perfect stock thermometer is introduced, kOS implements FAR compatibility, or I figure out how to mathematically compensate for the incorrect reading.

But back to my original point: the only thing that could get me to jump back into KSP is to check out the new features of 1.1. So is it out?

>>
>>124154849
Can't you just make a thermometer part that heats up super fast? You just hide it somewhere so it doesn't overheat (or just give it a stupid high max temp) and use it to make real time calculations more accurate.

I know shit about modding so I don't even know if that is possible

What is this NaN bug you guys talk about?
Sometimes I only have orbit lines spazzing because of NaN angles or some shit like that, but never experienced crafts disappearin or exploding or any serious bug
>>
>>124167420
When i have ships inbound to an intercept and i load it from the tracking station/nearby ship, appears to load normally but instantly goes to black and every readout changes to NaN then you're locked out of your save and have to restart ksp. When you reload it your ship will be gone and the only way to recover that ship is from a previous quickload(but it will retain the NaN bug when you load the ship), or cheating.

With a bit of luck and hyperedit you can save it though. As long as the ship doesn't go to NaN, but it will go beyond the speed of light for whatever reason. So if it loads and you can see it well, you can hyperedit it into a planet's orbit. with luck it will fix itself.

There would be like half a dozen more important things than underwater life to add in the name of planet exploration.

-Different kinds of terrain (not just biomes with arbitrary borders)
-Atmosphere layers a-la Venus
-different experiments other than surface samples
-seismic/volcanic activity or signs of past activity to study
And a bunch of others that escape my memory right now.

Underwater exploration is, IMO, low on priority considered there is only one other planet with an ocean.
Also, kerbin-bound exploration and science is pretty pointless to me, I mean it's your home planet, you are supposed to already know what goes on in there.

>Unlike on Earth, then

Space agencies on Earth are not in charge of studying our oceans (I mean, not from the ground at least), sample our terrain, researching animals and wildlife and so on. They stick to space business, which may indeed involve Earth-related studies, but performed from above.
We have a lot of other science agencies dealing with every ground-based research there is to do on here.

I think KSP should be no different.
Ok, I can stand you may have to take kerbin samples for the sake of gameplay and to give you something easy to do at the beginning, but the focus should shift to space as soon as you have something that can reach orbit.

Tl;dr: fuck kerbin, give me something to do on other planets. Let other imaginary scientists study kerbin and give me the task of studying the rest.

Oh hey, why don't we add interior design in Sim City, Weapon maintenance in Battlefield, technical scrutineering in racing games or a "clean shit left from previous passengers" minigame in flight simulators? All stuff that can be considered essential and closely related to the main game.
You play with the assumption that all that stuff is being taken care of by someone/something else, while technically not being taken care of at all in the game.

Some people might be totally ok if those additional gameplay aspects were added and they would have a blast using them, but the game is about something else and those features will just waste space and resources for the most part.
In-depth studies of kerbin are not needed in KSP, IMO, not in the stock game at least

The point still stands I think: kerbin is studied by someone else, you are in charge of going airborne and into space and study planets from there.
You are not some kind of all-inclusive science division, you are a space agency.

Again, kerbin studies might be perfect for a mod, but not in the stock game.
I think you shouldn't even be able to take surface samples or perform any other ground based experiment on Kerbin to be honest.
>>
>>124183418
Please stop making me want to play the game Anon.
>>
>>124195903
Why go airborne? That's not space. I think there's scope for sea stuff for the same reason there's scope for airborne stuff - because you do that on the other planets, and doing stuff on the other planets is the focus. I agree that there shouldn't be any experiments on kerbin though.
>>
>>124196808
>Why go airborne?

Well, you are asking that to someone who never uses planes, but I can see that a space agency might want to experiment with atmospheric flight for scientific purposes.

Sure as hell I don't see a space agency landing a plane in the desert/mountain/ice caps/whatever to pick a surface sample or measure the temperature of the ground. I can see doing that on another planet, but not on its home planet.

While we labor under strict ration, you waste and consume like fire.

While we're slowly exposed to the cancers of the void, toiling endlessly just to keep breath in our lungs, you legislate against us while getting rich off our bounties.

When we speak up and ask for representation, we get arrested for sedition by the UN.

When we ask for more realistic quotas, we see our rations tightened.

We do not take the act of dropping our very livelihood upon you lightly, Rustworlder, when even our very attempts to seek recognition as more than slaves costs us more than you will ever understand.

Oh, sorry scrapwalker - clearly you are for colonial rights, then?

My mistake. I suppose it might be a little difficult to see, what with Martians growing fat off our bounties; with the way they stand alongside the Terran UN as they beat us down for asking for a degree of autonomy; with the way they have never stood up for colonial rights.
We have tried. Fourteen long years, we campaigned, we protested, we dealt and discussed, and to what end?

Four habitats split up and forcibly relocated into already full ones, and then destroyed.
Increased rationing.
UN soldiers hassling our traders and fellow workers.

How can you claim to have dealt with the same struggles we have, and then turn your backs on us? How can you even begin to tell me that we will ever see a life free from the blue jackboot when you yourself are the ones wearing it?
>>
>>124216412
Bombing terrestrial freighters and then making demands isn't "asking" for autonomy, your own actions against the UN is the only reason their people mistrust you. Likewise with the economic sanctions made against belters, the hope was that the more extreme elements out there would see sense when the average person was squeezed, but all those people did was go even more off the chain. Now we have people like yourself thinking everyone is the enemy and the only way to get what you want is even more killing on even more ridiculous scales.

Mars turns our backs to you because you're starting to think we are exactly the same as them, when for the most part we've tried to stay the hell out of it. We still need raw materials we can't get from Earth, we still need ridiculous amounts of nitrogen if we ever want to walk outside and not be sucking down the rads just as badly as you. But we already have a tenuous relationship with the UN since they're still salty they don't control us, and haven't done for decades.

You turned your backs on us long before we moved to unconventional channels of negotiation. You chose to sit and happily take from us while the UN held the razor to our throats, never once questioning this. You stood, idly, as we were abused, and treated like caged slaves, while you took the UN's pillage without word. You stood back and watched your colonial brothers - many of them Martians such as yourself - suffer.

And you
did
nothing.

If you are not exactly the same as them, that's simply because you represent something far worse, rustwalker. You represent the kind of indifference that has necessitated our extreme actions. You once would have stood as a buffer, a negotiator, a free party. But clearly, you are nothing but the UN's whore, happy to pass off the profits of our suffering to the Terrans, in exchange for your pathetic so-called 'neutrality.'

The console versions will release in November of 2016. Will all updates between now and then be incorporated into those versions? Or will they be updated afterward? Either scenario has ongoing patches for six systems as the endgame.

Now factor in multiplayer, which as-it-stands requires huge monthly overhead. How will Squad maintain all these features and continue to add meaningful content to the game in perpetuity?

1.0 was the death knell of your argument. This is the end, my friend.

In KSP the propellant(s) that an engine consumes literally need to have mass for the engine to make thrust.
>>
>>124220087
What about a design where there's a collector behind the engine reclaiming the propellant that's ejected by the engine and sends it back to the fuel tank?

Because AtomCentral themselves did the restoration process with their own money, which is why it has the watermark in the first place.

It is not going to last forever, of course, but they still have some cards up their sleeves to use.
Just look at the hype that generates when some major release is inbound, that is a load of new players every time.

They still have some pretty basic features to release that can be used as ammunition for future releases, like life support Or multiple resources, or a MJ clone which will make hordes of players cream their pants and just spread the word about this game that is totally going to be great with this new update.

I'm not really following the development of multiplayer, is it going to be in the next update? If not, then that is another super huge ammunition for a future release, it is probably the biggest if you ask me, lots of new players will join just to play this game online.

I guess sales will offset costs by a huge margin at least until the next major release after multiplayer. I don't know how they are going to handle the console stuff, but they already made a deal with that noname external team, so they probably already factored in an estimate of what it will cost to maintain and update those versions too.

As much as I like to think of Squad as an incompetent bunch, they still have a PR background, they know how to sell stuff and probably know how to estimate profit margins for the future. So my bet is they will keep going at least up to a bit after multiplayer.
Doesn't matter if it will be shit at launch, it will still sell like crazy.
Remember KSP aced pretty much every review when 1.0 came out, they know how to polish a turd to make it look like the most tasty looking chocolate brownie on the market.

Well, she's just the office mattress as far as I understood it. Maybe Kasper is not happy with her performance.

Kaspers not in the same office as Badie.
>>
>>124224619
That explains it. Badie needs to do some jet-setting like the international executive she is.
