It's a /bbg/ specific meta for organized PvP (mainly), low enough to reach down to 80 and avoid 150s. If it weren't for those two factors we'd probably just sit at an even 100 like other communities do.

I think in general 120 is fine for finding online activity, also leaves you better prepared for the high-octane gonk squads you'll find invading at anything above NG level, but there's a surprising variety of active level ranges in BB. I even find activity on my 150 with some regularity.

The very first person who summoned me at the beginning of the DLC was a dude in full harrowed using moonlight sword + the shield.

I didnt know how far along the game he was at the time, but after finishing the DLC myself, it just dawned on me he was at least in the Hamlet to have gotten all those things.

It made the fact that he died to the flaming boulder trap on the stairs all the more baffling.

So i just got the game, why is it so much fucking harder than the other souls games? I'm only at the second lantern and i cant get past the werewolfs on the bridge leading up to the cleric demon. i have to run past all the enemys to get to the boss and even then i have no healing items left to fight him with. the farthest iv'e got is about 40%. wut do? can i farm healing items? and what should i level up? do i need to upgrade my weapon? i need some noob advice.

Because you never learned to play without a shield or how to use your weapon's hitstun for crowd control or how to use positioning to avoid damage in Dark Souls or Dark Souls 2.

Yes you can farm healing items. Try killing enemies instead of running past them, they will drop them. You can also spend echoes on them in the Hunter's Dream. You don't need to level up much if at all to beat Cleric Beast. Upgrading your weapon to +2 isn't a bad idea, though. Explore.

Tinge has never really been top tier besides month 1 when people didn't know how to deal with gunspam. It's pretty whatever now, 120ish and even 100 level Saws will shit all over it, as does Wheel dash. Chikage is a bad weapon.

I've never really used the Bloodletter and it seems to be pretty effective but I don't think it's a top tier weapon from what I have seen.

5. whatever endurance you want
