Haven't played since probably June, just bought the DLC and have a few questions:

1)What's generally the accepted level to tackle it? Will my lvl 70-90 previous characters be too high? Does the DLC change anything later to the point where you're better of making a new character? This brings me to question number 2.
2) Is there a nice list of changes since release/additions that the DLC added? I'm going to assume my old then fairly optimal characters are no longer optimal due to changes made in patches.

Threaded Cane is probably one of the first church weapons. Every Church hunter wields it ingame and it deals extra damage against filthy Cainhurst stuff. Then it has the anti beast whip form. You can start right after Amelia, but the enemies in the first area WILL kick your ass. Only reason I'd go there early is to make a quick dash for the weapons in the first area. (Whirligig, Saif, Beast Cutter, etc.) You can also pick up some twin shards while you're at it.

Saif doesnt have the saw spears ability to ass rape beast type enemies and bosses.

I have tested it on beast enemies and they will tank some of the attacks in the small quick form while saw cleaver just stun locks them to death because of its serrated edges.
Saw cleaver also doesnt do shit against beast bosses.
It strick form has the power it lacks in small form,but lacks the serrated edges.

Id say saif is probaably the weakest of the dlc weapons.

Wirligig can stun lock and saw to death
Beast cutter can also tera shit up
Church pick is fast and efficient and strong
Boom hammer is pure damage
Claws are good for relentless atacks and speed
Ayyy lmao mode is good for arcane ass rape
And saif is just plain old saif

I say this as someone who been using saif as a secondary since ludwig.

Saif cant keep me from using my executioners axe cause its just not a god enough replacement

Hemwick, Forbidden and Nightmare Frontier. Hemwick can be accessed before Amelia, and the Forest/Frontier can be visited after. It's not a big deal being able to loot twin shards in the DLC, don't get me wrong. It's just a nice bonus and it'll help you get a +6 weapon faster.

It's moveset is completely different from the LHB. Untricked mode is DaSI claymore moveset and the trick mode is a souped up MLGS. It's fantastic.

Definitely not a pure ARC weapon, though. It gets its best damage output from quality stats.

BLT weapons have great trick modes that scale solely off the stat. Therefore, you'll want to raise it to 50 and then raise another damage stat (SKL for Chikage/Bowblade, STR for Bloodletter.) to either the base requirements or to the softcap of 25. Then, you raise your VIT/END to whatever level you desire. I recommend 40-50 for VIT and base/25 for END. END's not really that desirable, though, so you can just leave that at base and if it's too low for you then you can just supplement it with Anti-Clockwise runes.

Yeah, it's too bad, but you also have your guns to play with. Evelyn, Repeating Pistol and the Piercing Rifle will blow holes through /everything/ with high BLT, so as far as damage output goes, I don't think you'll find yourself too starved even before you find the Chikage/Bowblade/Bloodletter. Just be sure you make good use of those bullet-restoring runes.

Are you literally retarded? Co-op and pvp work off different ranges, and the ideal level for one is not the ideal level for the other. And then there are the unique multiplayer mechanics to consider. Perfect example: BL43 can invade down to BL30, which is the earliest point when bell maidens spawn in a host's world. However, if you wanted to co-op with them instead of invade them then bell maidens wouldn't factor in at all, so you'd use a BL32, since that can be summoned by hosts down to BL10. This even matters at higher levels, as the differences become much more pronounced since they work off percentages.
