If you turn around in front of the Ludwig boss door and go back a bit there's a zombie corpse thing clawing at the gate you passed that's a guaranteed five blood vial drop.

I wonder if there are any more in the blood river? I thought it was decorative because you can't target it, but you can kill it

Does elemental damage do less the other types? My ludwig's sword says It does about 470 electric yet when I'm attacking It does a measly 300ish, do enemies generally have a higher defense to elemental than other attack types? I'm really struggling with Ludwig and just can't think of doing anything but raising my damage.

The Vermin, however, only transform a person into a Beast once the person gives in completely to the violent urges they induce. The Kin, on the other hand, were mutated by different kinds of organisms. The phantasms and creatures like the Kos Parasites, probably. Creatures found in Isz, which is a land closer to the "thought realm" Great Ones can act in.

is ludwig's holy blade a gigantic crutch weapon or am I just bad? I got mine to +9 during my first playthrough and I just can't find a weapon to replace it now. I've upgraded several to +6 or +7 but they seem to never come close to the damage, great moveset and stagger than this fucking sword has / does

it's a bit frustrating to find a weapon with a cool moveset but it doesn't seem to come close to the greatsword's usefulness

I'm just ranting, I should just play with something that does less damage and shut the fuck up I know if I want a different moveset

How do you guys like to run through the game?

I normally run around and grab all my upgrade materials so I can chew through bosses as fast as possible, and also doing all the Npc quests for the poses.

So gehrman made contact with the moon presence and created the dream, likely sad about maria's death but w/e some people don't think thats right, so WHY is he so negative about it?

Why does he refer to killing you as waking up out of the horrible dream as if the hunters dream is meant to be a curse. I thought his whole thing was creating refuge and trying to prevent people from ending up in the nightmare.

Gehrman's been in the hunter's dream for a fucklong time, anon. His body is probably long gone, like Micolash's, and the moon presence keeps him around as the hunter host. He's basically caught, sees new hunters come and go and is forcefully reminded of the loss of his friends (if you hear him talk in his sleep).

The hunter's dream might be a refuge and useful, but for Gehrman it's really not pleasant.

Reminder to go in Kin or Beast mode for pvp. Ruin the shitters 26% gems with -beast/kin damage

Generally you should start at 25/50 or 50/25, then add points from there. There's plenty of weapons that go with either. If you're skl/str then you can also pump strength up a few points to use Gatling/cannons and put some extra points in bloodtinge.

A couple extra points in END doesn't hurt if you're leaning more towards a STR build. If you can't put 15 in arcane, don't, but if you can then it's worth it IMO for the bone and roar alone.

How do people solo darkbeast paarl. I always have to summon, even when it means I do literally 100% of the damage and all they do is get targeted I have never in all my time playing this game been able to get underneath him and hit his legs without gettling clipped by some random arm movement followed by him jumping away.

Which is hilarious because as soon as you get 3 R1's on a leg thats it the fights over because he's going to be stunlocked for the rest of it, but I literally cannot get it on my own and I don't know why.

He's really damn quick. To be perfectly honest, now when I go to kill him I make sure I'm coming back from Mensis with 19% gems and a +10 weapon so he gets staggered in two hits. So much less of a pain.

I don't think so. The fishing village is described as a sin of the church, which was founded after Laurence left Burgertown to pursue his experiments in pumping blood into people and seeing what happens. So it had to be after the split.

As far as placing it, there's a note in the lecture hall from Laurence that states "Willem was right, evolution without courage will be the doom of our race" or something like that. So the trip to the fishing village and the subsequent scouring of it by the church may have taken place after Laurence realized that just having the blood wasn't enough and he started searching for eyes, and after the fishing village excursion is when Maria threw her sword away.

That still had to be pretty early on, because Maria was a direct disciple of Gehrman and part of the original workshop.

Got no fucking damage and the whip is super long range, decent stagger but slow as molasses. One piece of advice DON'T FUCKING FORGET ABOUT THE OTHER MOVESET. It's actually pretty damn good when not transformed, people just forget and auto-roll whip for every encounter when they should adapt to close range or enemies with high resistance to staggering.

No, there's just regular damage as well. Thrust attacks are pretty easy to identify and even a weapon that has them usually won't have that property on all attacks, while blunt tends to be more all-encompassing on the weapons that have it; for instance, all physical damage on the wheel is blunt.
