SHEN REWORK

Passive - Ki Strike

No longer has a cooldown, always requires you to get in auto attacks to charge it up. Can be applied with Q, and hitting a Q also counts as a charge.

Q - Vorpal Blade

Is now a skillshot (yeah yeah) but has 50% longer range. Can proc Ki Strike. No heals when killing units, making Shen's only sustain attacking units marked. Possible AD ratio to allow for more build options.

W - Feint

Shields Shen for X amount. If the shield is broken (with damage, not duration), Shen becomes invisible for 2 seconds.

E - Shadow Dash

Completely unchanged.

R - Stand United

Upon channeling, Shen can choose an effect that will be applied on the target with his Q, W and E. W creates the classic shield effect, Q releases a flurry of daggers in a nova AOE around the target and E makes Shen taunt everyone in an AOE around the target upon arrival.

Shen is now more of a ninja/fighter and less of a meatshield/tank.

Riot forced Morde to fill a role he wasn't designed to fill.

In order to make him successful, they massively overloaded his numbers to make it nearly impossible to fail. Of course, he succeeded in a landslide and because the best ADC in the game.

Then, they nerfed his numbers to bring him in line with the power levels of the other ADCs, and forget that his absurd power in comparison to other ADCs was the only thing keeping him afloat. When Morde bot is balanced, it's bad.

Speeding two people up, slowing two people down, stuns for fucking days

I had a yasuo chasing me for like a minute and was permanently either stunned or slowed by 60% and i was just spamming laugh.

i feel like he's legitmately good though too, considering his ult is great to keep your carry alive, and his aoe stun if landed in a dense teamfight can be massive.

I've been going Spellthiefs Refillable > Tear > SS > CDR boots > Zekes > Archangels which seems pretty good

Overloaded kits can never be balanced.

If you take a balanced overloaded kit it simply isn't worth the effort to learn it since you could take simpler kit and have more success
If you make it overpowered then the edge cases where a good player abuses their true power make it broken as fuck and permabanned.


For example the random addition of the ghost dragon is one of these.

Before the nerfs Morde was so strong that he didn't even need parts of his kit to be viable and hence people who actually abused the dragon would destroy towers left and right.
Now in his balanced state to get equal effectiveness out of him than a regular bot lane ADC you HAVE TO abuse the ghost but since getting the ghost is so unreliable it makes the champ simply not worth playing.

You are super squishy and do no damage; until you get nashors+rylais, then you turn into a kiting sustained damage pokey slowing annoying motherfucker.

He's tough to learn, but really fun once you get the hang of it, and borderline broken OP if you're good.

Also if you fall behind early you're absolutely fucked. Your power spike is around 30 minutes. Delaying that by falling behind is the worst thing ever, so play safe early unless you're completely confident in your plays.

And for fuck's sake take barrier. You need it.

Nah, he had perfectly fine clears before. He could full clear and be health enough to walk around and pressure a lane or two/maybe get a kill and then go back and kill a few camps to back with like 1300g. Shitters didn't know how to do it and took Q second, but that's not how it worked.

He's wayyyyy worse this patch. Unplayable in the jungle and on the "average" side of top lane. Might be okay mid as a counterpick. He just didn't get anything about of this patch, in fact he lost stuff, and most of his competition did gain some nice stuff.

It's the E, which is laughably easy to dodge, and if you do dodge it (read: use your batshit crazy fucking ult), you basically just kill her.

when you use your lined skillshot, you get a burst of speed, when she uses her small AoE skillshot, she has a significant stop in mobility

You need to anticipate when she may try to trade and start your skillshot just before she does hers so that you have a big advantage in hitting yours while she has a big disadvantage in hitting hers.

I'm not very good at mid so I can't tell you about the matchup but syndra becomes a giant lane bully at 6 so you need to pressure early when you can pre-6 while you have the edge and then back off when she hits 6 unless you can't get stunned.

If you don't think you can kill her, shove the wave and roam because ahri's roams are extremely good with her ult's 3 dashes. Don't be afraid to use one or two charges before actually getting to the lane you're ganking, especially if you think it will be warded, because you're similar to rammus and hecarim in that it being warded is not as huge a deal because you can fucking run them down if they're pushed up.
