Tryd's biggest weakness is getting kited and DOT's, so champs like Teemo or Kalista can fuck him up good, but they aren't really hard counters because if he catches them off guard they're toast.

Garen got a huge fucking buff with the Juggernaut patch, when your opponent gets marked by his passive you now do fucking true damage on his ult, and his spin does enough base damage that you can pretty much just build a Black Cleaver and laugh.
That said, pre-Juggernaut I had some pretty good wins against Tryn with Garen, you rush Thornmail and Sunfire cape.

Many, if not most champions in DotA are incredibly straightforward mechanically. This whole "dota heroes are so much more complex meme" is perpetrated by bullshitters.
