Survival is pretty easy though so long as you don't go into areas that are a higher level than you.

A long quest chain where you play and side with raiders. It starts where you come across a help distress beacon that leads you to a small bunker. When you get there, you're captured with a short cutscene by raiders who use EMPs and concussive grenades and find out the whole thing was a trap. I just completed human error, apparently everyone hates synths. I sided with the doctor, then killed everyone for extra xp.

I started fast traveling almost exclusively when I got bored of the commonwealth. I knew there was nothing to see because I already had decked out gear, a decent legendary, and 60+ stimpaks. I had no reason to explore any where. I just now when to the museum of witchcraft, already knowing what happens there because of /fog/. I just don't care about exploration, really. I care about interesting quests that get shit done, or new guns, or mods, etc. Not "generic raider drug den #5000"
It gets old and boring really fast when they drop more stimpaks, more bullets, and I don't need more of either. It's just for wasting time, really. Some places are fun, yes, but there's a lot of bullshit in the commonwealth that I don't care about.
It took me 30 hours to complete the game, and I did a lot of side quests, I just didn't put a lot of effort into exploration since I already had so much shit. The second I got the cryolator I threw it in the trash and never used it again, the second I got Old Faithful and 400 damage per hit I stopped caring about going to the shitty, dumpy little buildings with no quests and more drugs. Who cares?

Thing is, of the Bethesda games Oblivion had by far the most realistic lockpicking. You don't just fiddle with the pick and turn it, you feel out the tumblers and knock them into place.

How exactly does damage resistance work? I assume it's not a direct reduction like DT in NV, and that it has diminishing returns, as in 40 dr won't give you twice as much reduction to damage at 20 would. But other than that, I have no idea how it's calculated.

There was a legendary mob in almost every pack of monsters in my playthrough. And yes, any health regeneration slows to a crawl - this is the primary "difficulty" in how you can't instantly recoup health lost in a fight.
