Nina was the poster girl for Street Fighter x Tekken and was somewhat of a lead female character and has disappeared off the radar in Tekken 7 so far. The series seems to have given up on having a single iconic female like Chun Li and just puts Asuka, Lili and others in the spotlight randomly.

off the top of my head

the basic and most useful one is parry -> throw/ move. If they do nothing you get the throw/ move. If they throw out an attack you parry then get your throw/move.

The more complicated, character specific OS is the SGGK. A lot of characters have their own SGGK, the most infamous being Chun Li. With Chun Li you do parry, then close Hk kara throw (Hk ~ lp + lk). If they do nothing then you throw them. If they throw out an attack you parry and get close Hk, which you can hit confirm into super. Other characters with notable SGGK OS's are Yun (Zenpou motion, Mk ~ lp + lk) & Akuma's Jiro Demon (super difficult).

The last main OS that I use (though there are probably more) is intuitive if you've ever played guilty gear, it's the guard jump OS. there are a few frames on wakeup where you are not throwable, so you abuse this by blocking until the last frame until you are throwable, then jumping and parrying forward immediately. If they try and throw you, you will jump out. Otherwise you will just block.

The roster honestly wasn't ideal. I realize that Capcom vs SNK is really just an excuse to do Street Fighter vs King of Fighters, but with 48 characters you could've had a bit more variety on the Capcom side. I'm pretty sure Kyosuke, Maki (at the time, this is before A3 MAX), and Morrigan were the only non-Street Fighter characters on the roster, and there were about as many non-SFII characters (Eagle, Yun, Sakura, and Dan). At least KOF is technically also Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury, plus they had Haohmaru and a couple others from outside the series. Even SvC Chaos went a bit outside the box for their reps (Zero, Mars People, Hugo, Demitri, Red Arremer). Game's still fucking great, though.

Speaking of CvS2: Is C-Haohmaru/Iori/Terry a good team? How about C-Haohmaru/Yun/Iori?

also you into it by checking some basics videos by levelupyourgame or avoidingthepuddle. pretty much anything in tekken 6 can be applied to tag 2 as well. pick any character you like and stick with them. there are some simple/beginner-friendly characters of course.

there's also ideas like "do I want my ratio 2 character to be first and try to OCV, do I leave them as a buffer in mid, or do I leave them for last as a comeback mechanic" which in turn get more interesting if you have a team that has battery/meter user dynamic

it's not a lot of depth but to say it adds none just because the top tier teams are all 1/1/2 is foolish

A heavy hitting up-close brawler type who fights with power-armor and metal gauntlet.

General moveset includes hard hitting punch attacks that cause wall bounce, floor bounce, corner carry, just an overall emphasis on making her feel like she hits like a truck. Plus at least one armored move and a command throw. Her normal attacks are stubby but are very fast and have excellent hitboxes so she focuses on mauling her opponent's up close and whiff punishing and exploiting mistakes in neutral.

Her primary disadvantage would be a lack of any throw-invincible reversal and short ranged normals.

Basically a mixture of SF Makoto, BB Makoto, Dudley and Slayer.

USF4 is one of the best fighting games ever made, and it gets a lot of undeserved hate here. Here are some of the reasons why it is great.

- Focus Attack is an interesting and complex mechanic that is what SF3 parries should have been.

- Fireballs aren't ridiculously strong like in ST so you actually have to play footsies.

- Large and diverse cast. Anyone can find a character that fits them.

- Crouch tech makes the pressure game more complex than the simplistic "low or throw" model of older games.

- Has the most competition of any fighting game out.

- Some of the SF4 newcomers (Hakan, Juri, El Fuerte) rank among the most interesting characters in fighting game history.

- The game is not too fast paced or rushdown based which allows for actual mindgames and not brainless flowchart offense (like Vampire Savior or Guilty Gear).

- Very good as a spectator's game both due to the mechanics and the pleasing visual style.

- Very well balanced. Almost any character is tournament viable despite the large cast.

- It's one of the easiest fighting games to learn, but it is also one of the hardest to master.

- Ultras are a great mechanic. Very hype for spectators, and makes sure to keep you in the fight no matter how close you are to losing.

- It is a link heavy game, so good execution is rewarded.

- Anti airs aren't free. You actually have to think when someone jumps at you.

- The game is incredibly technical. Lots of option selects etc

- and backdashing is actually useful in this game.

I'm sure you're getting the picture by now. I could go on longer, but there is really no need to. USF4 is a masterpiece of the fighting game genre, and in fifteen years time it'll be one of those legendary "OG" games. It gets unfair hate now due to its popularity and contrarian attitudes and just from people who don't understand fighting games.

SF5 really needs a mechanic similar to FADC. I'm not saying put Focus Attacks in but a roman cancel-like mechanic that lets you cancel any move into something else. SF4 is a shit game but FADC is the only good thing about it that adds an entirely new level of depth.
