When you assault the castle, if Preston dies, does anything go wrong?

I killed the queen and suddenly the objective was "meet with the minutemen in the courtyard" but only 1 guy was there, rest dead. I tried talking to him but he didn't open a dialog.

The marker where I should meet the minutemen is really far off and in a map I've never been in.

Anyone has experienced this?

Am I just bad or does melee/unarmed feel really underpowered in FO4 and just unviable as a primary damage source?

The vertical nature of a lot of the world design means enemies are very often on rooftops, on scaffolding, or other places where it's impossible or at least not obvious how to get to them.

When I fight big enemies like the Mirelurk Queen (when retaking The Castle) I have to resort to using (non-perked) guns anyway because it just one-shots me through my decent armor, on NORMAL fucking difficulty.

Playing a sneaky stealthy character in this game fucking blows.

For starters power armor is fucking everywhere and fusion cores are too. So you basically have to pass up the huge advantage they offer unless you want to look retarded sneaking around in a Gundam.

Then there's the fact that you can shoot a dog in undetected sneak mode from across the fucking map with a silenced rifle and the 5 other dogs in the area will just run directly at you.

Also sneaking around areas with ghouls is impossible. Most of them just come out of fucking nowhere and seem to be scripted to come out of a vent behind you after you've cleared the building and youre looting shit.

Why even have Sneak in this game? Just one of the 400 power armor suits laying around and proceed to not give a fuck about taking damage.

The combat armor?
I literally just got it, then I went over to Spectacle island only to realize I don't have a weapons workshop there.
I don't really care too much for the modding elements in this game. I haven't applied a single mod to power armor and I rarely use it.
I have finished the game and the last time I used it was for the Glowing Sea to go to Vergil and I have not used it since.
I have some of my guns modded, like my gauss rifle, hunting rifle, combat rifle, etc.

Did Bethesda just completely forget what a terminal is when designing areas for Fallout 4? I don't think I've seen a single mainframe for any of these terminals to be connected to.

I need more novice locks to pick and terminals to hack.
Also, fuck trying to get 100% happiness. My resources like food and tier 3 shops sometimes get unassigned settlers so my happiness goes down.

How does Unarmed damage while wearing Power Armor work?

Is it roughly equal to using a Power Fist?

Getting trolled pretty hard by the auto stealth when sitting still and crouching function on a piece of armor I found. Makes it impossible to aim through the sights on my non-scoped guns and doesn't even seem to work like a stealth-boy despite turning me invisible. How in the world did bethesda think this was a good idea?

I know I could just unequip it but it's way better than any other piece of armor for that limb I've found so it's a bit of a conundrum I find myself in.

I had a chameleon raider's right arm for the longest time. Ugly as sin, but good for my stealth character.

you have to remember though things like light-levels and that enemies will move towards sound so an silenced rifle will draw them towards the spot where you fired.
