There is no right side in war.

I tried to help everyone. BoS, MinuteMen, Railroad, I thought we could all be friends. When it was time to choose, I decided to be a member of the Brotherhood so I could help humanity. I didn't know they would make me kill the Railroad.
I walked to the door of the church, dreading what I was about to do. I swallowed my bile and went inside.
One by one I shot my former friends. One shot, one kill. And then there was the doctor, a Molotov burned him alive as he tried to heal an agent.
I fought through the tunnels, pain in my heart. I blew open the entrance and went inside.
Drummer boy ran up the stairs, like he was going to great me, then he pulled his gun. I put a shell in his head and saw Deacon was behind me.
One more shell in his head, falling down the stairs onto Drummer Boy.
Tinker rushed me, using his fists, hurting only himself. One more shell put him down, tossing him down the hallway.
Glory. I'm so sorry. They'll need a closed casket for you. I ran straight at her and put my gun in her mouth. One more shell and her head was gone.
Desdemona was hiding behind a table. I wish I hadn't seen her. One final shell in her neck. Don't even know how she spoke her last words.

I surveyed the room, the room of my family. Blood and gore everywhere. I held Tinker Joe's hat and studied the blood stains on it, I'll never be able to listen to him ramble on and on...
I looked and saw the blackboard.
"Whisper" was still on it.
I'm so sorry. I want to take it all back. But could I stomach that? Both sides are my family. If not you then Li, Danse, Haylen, Teagan. Hell, even Maxson.
Was there no way to bridge the gap? To work together? At least not kill each other?

There is no right side in war. Neither does it tell who is right...only who is left.

All base model weapons are identical.

For example, if I loot a 10mm pistol with some random mods, and another 10mm pistol with some mods, they're fundamentally the same (assuming neither is legendary)? If I strip the mods off both, they're the same gun?

I just want to confirm that there isn't any bizarre scaling with higher levels where the guns are better in general..

Basically want to find a balance where I can have a good view distance for buildings and such, but maintain 60fps. I have no problem just walking in the world, but in situations where I see a 970 keeping 60fps I get 38-46.

I just want more guns in general. Sure modding them is cool and all, but man it's fucking lazy. There is like 20 types of weapons and the rest are just mods. I mean, the difference between a laser pistol and a laser rifle is the fucking stock and that is all.

Also the game needs actual unique weapons again. Not a standard weapon with a predefined legendary mod (you could get with RNG anyway). It needs actual unique looking weapons with unique stats and/or effects.

After you take Fort Independence in the Minutemen questline, you get a settlement building quest that gets you the Artillery plans.

You also get smoke bombs. You build an artillery placement in a settlement, and man it, it gives like six defense.

If you're in their range when you throw one of the smoke bombs, get ready for fiery death to rain down.

There might be 3 bodies, 0, 1, and 2 for skinny, fat, muscular, etc.

New Vegas' dialog was a thousand times better. You had more options, more skill checks (With greater variety of skill types, not just one), more response types (So every response wasn't just "Good" "bad" Cheeky Good" "Question"), and conversations actually branched more.
Not to mention dialog played a greater role in questing than it does in 4.

Seriously, Fallout 4's dialog system is the worst I've ever seen in a video game. Bethesda did literally everything wrong with it.

The Institute has no motivation whatsoever to do what they do.
They replace humans with synths for what? The synths still have the same exact mentality as their humans replicates, do the same things, but now they're synths.
They don't have an agenda. They don't make them sleeper agents or scouts or anything.
If they wanted to improve the wasteland, they would change the synth's mind, how the mind works, but they don't. It is still the same person, only now in an artificial body.

The BoS DESTROYS THE INSTITUTE in their ending. They completely destroy it.
I understand that they may find synths to be heretic technology, but the Institute has TONS of other technologies that their scribes could study and implement into their weapons and armours and have an overall technological advancement.

It branched more than 4. Every dialog choice lead to more dialog choices. Whereas in Fallout 4, every dialog choice literally leads to the same ONE response no matter what you say.
And in New Vegas you actually had plenty of opportunists to pass skill checks. In Fallout 4, they're rare as fuck, and it's only for Charisma. So you don't even get unique dialog for high or low INT, or perks. Oh and that brings me onto the best part, Lady Killer perk has no unique dialog either, unlike all the other games. What ti ACTUALLY does is just boost your chance to pass standard Charisma checks when talking to women.

The dilemma is fucking there. You meet a cool synth, a free thinking synth, before meeting any faction pretty much. Even moreso if you have Curie as a companion. I supported the Brotherhood all the way through until I got Curie and did Danse's quest. Then I didn't know, because although I agreed with the Railroad, they're incompetent and have no plan for the future. Deciding my faction was hard. You're just so cynical you won't point out when Bethesda actually improves their story and its themes.

Except they don't. If they wanted to control the populace and guide humanity to the best path they would actually be active. They would make a synth to be a great leader and inspire people, but they don't. They replace random wastelanders.
House was at least authoritarian and exercised his authority in guiding humanity into the best path, but the Institute never does that.

And how does teleportation doesn't interest them? Or why wouldn't the Institute weapons interest them? The Institute had 200 years of unhindered technological achievements. Technological achievements that their scribes could study and implement into the BoS to make them even more technological superior than other people.

And the dilemma isn't there. The person being a synth or not makes no difference. The game say "would you risk your life for a random fucking synth you don't know?".
People bond with dogs, pigs, raccoons, people cry because of them, protect them, they are not humans, but people still have feelings for them.
Same thing with a synth. Can be a synth or a person, it doesn't matter in a generalized manner.
Would I put myself at risk to save a random dog? No. Would I put myself at risk to save my dog that has been with me since I was little? Yes.
Would I put myself at risk to save a random person? No. Would I put myself at risk to save my brother, mother or father? Yes.

So what's the deal with the X-01 power armor? I can't find that shit anywhere except a helmet on the prydwen. I asked some buddies and they said they found armor at [X] location, but when I go there it's just some T60 or T45. Am I missing something here?

Put a rug down first, plop an edge of the fence on top of the rug, and then pick up the rug.

Does the armor respawn? I went around and started collecting power armor suits that I found and I'm afraid that I can't get the armor now.

Every time I restart the game it resets the difficulty to very hard. Anybody else experience this?

Not him but if you think the story for this game is any improvement on ANY Fallout game then you're an idiot.

If you side with the Institute one of the quests tells you that they created the artificial gorillas as a way to control the wildlife on the surface, you know the shit that's out there killnig all your settlers such as ghouls, mirelurks and deathclaws (Kind of like how the Enclave created Deathclaws).

You'd also see that there are different departments in the Institute, one that even includes growing food and medicine at a rate that couldn't be done on the surface with their tech. I'm sure the surface doesn't need food and meds though, radiation makes the Pork N Beans taste better.

They also work on making Synths which are faster, strong and better than any Power Armour soldier, so lives are saved when you want to wipe out the Raiders, Super Mutants or anything else in the Wasteland.

Oh let's also not forget the reactor which is producing clean and sustainable energy, we wouldn't want those pesky settlers to get their hand on that; better they all huddle around a campfire and slowly freeze to death.
The BoS are the bad guys, they don't give a shit about the Commonwealth and only want to stop anyone but them from having technology. The Railroad are literally the game version of Tumblr (Prove to me that Nick has free will and isn't just following his programming like every other Synth). The Minutmen are too useless and can barely defend their own settlements.

As head of the Institute, you can save not only the Commonwealth but perhaps all of the Eastern Seaboard.

I really liked the Ranger armor in NV. Is there armor like that in 4? Like, leather pants with metal, a metal chest under a coat with a duster and a gas-mask that doesn't look retarded.

So far I've just been using the vault suit with legendary armor mods on it with a cowboy hat.
