The only glaring flaw with the PS3's bluray player was it's bad blacks other than that it was a fantastic bluray player. Other than the occasional manufacturing glitch of course.

PS4 has darker blacks plus it's a using a software version of sony's regular bluray drivers so it benefits from the years of experience on the market.

Let's say for the sake of argument Disgaea 5 costs 10 million to develop, which even for a game as cheap as Disgaea I think it being generous, and another 10 million for marketing in Japan.
Say they made their goal of 150K units sold, and it was at 60 US dollars (again for the sake of argument). 150K times 60 is 9 million. They wouldn't even have made back Development budget, let alone marketing budget.
That's not even counting the money the stores and services have to make from selling the game.
Game development is a deeper hell then you realize. It's why it pisses me off that SCEA doesn't market their 3rd party games, because some people's lives are actually on the line with these games. Hell Tales of Team already got scaled back after Vesperia and look what that got us

I'm enjoying it a lot. Cast and story are fun, gameplay is series standard with some cool new additions like overloads, visuals are pretty but obviously not technically amazing as always. The mega-maps with 50 to 100+ units are neat as hell.

Got probably 60 - 70 hours in it so far and fully intend to keep playing.

They mostly focused on how it was going to effect fan works, since that's what their website's about, but they mentioned stuff like fair use and the public domain too. Thank christ, it should be playable now. I don't mind a bit of rubber-banding, the Mario Kart games do it quite well and it keeps you on edge when you're in the lead however it was ridiculous in NFS. The game puts more enemies on a stage than previous entries typically do, quite often, and it has much faster attack animations with more effects. Considering the fact D4 has performance issues on Vita, it would require cutting back enough on D5 that you'd be impacting the actual gameplay by removing units from maps or making some maps smaller.

At that point is that something they would even want to do? No, if their own statements are anything to go by.

It's updated every time you exit an item.

You need to get 20mil raw stat to level a carnage trap that way, with the settings I was talking about (angel evility boost your dmg by 25% each, so you get +100% total). You get 10mil raw stat by mastering all classes and reincarnating in the elite four group, you get 10mil more by farming extract/shards.

Like I said last thread, the problem is if you want to farm extracts/shards quickly, you need a high level carnage trap, and if you want to level a carnage trap quickly you need to farm extracts/shards. I'm there at the moment, farming carnage Asagi maps at 2/3 stars with Metalia.

Also getting 300% equipement bonus from the Chara world can help a little at the beginning. It's just super boring because you get +5% max stat per run. And you need to go and ask for the Evil Person every run at the assembly.

Mystery route give you the most mystery room, and it's good because killing stuff in those event room get you kill bonus, and you also have a small chance to get the duplication item room wich will give you a dupe of the item you're in.

Current kill bonus=4, max is 400. With his trap being lv 492 and this low kill bonus, he must run it at 0 stars most likely. Like I said before, if you do it at 0 stars, it will take forever, with report of people being at lv 1500 of the item and still not done with the kill bonus. Once the kill bonus is maxed, you can go back to 0 stars, it doesnt matter anymore.

Based on what I gathered on the net, the kill bonus is an invisible gauge that fills everytime you kill an ennemy. The higher the stats, the more it fills (and thats why it's recommanded to level it at 20 stars). Ennemy in mystery rooms have very high stats most of the times, and also give a bonus. Killing Darkdeath in an item also give a bonus.


I feel like i'm really spoonfeeding this general about D5, when I got all those info by doing a 20~30 min search on gamefaq. Oh well, i'm a nice guy.

Also forgot to say, if you are really struggling with either trap levelling or shard/extract farming, you can always level a trap on 0 stars for a 100-200 floors and go back to farming. It give you a little stat boost that could make a huge difference when you get a 100% dmg boost from ally units.

And when you are levelling your trap with the mystery room, on top of the evillity I was talking about earlier, a couple of pirate evility can help (like the one increasing chances of mystery room and the one that boost the item lv by +1 every third floor clear)

Also, for those who wonder why Kill bonus matter: it's used in the formula for item stat gain every floor. The higher the kill bonus, the more stat you gain per floor cleared. You cant mess an item, you will always have max stat eventually, but it can be reeeally slow without this bonus. How many characters do you have with 10m+ stats? I have 3 but I'm starting to think it's futile to try and do all of this with only 3 of them..
And last, there's all this talk about getting r40 weapons on gamefaq but you haven't said anything about it. Do I need need them? Will they not really make a difference? I have a bunch of R39 weapons that I'm duel wielding atm on a few characters.

-Fragments and Shard can get you a max bonus of 10mil stats. What is recommanded is to do the max star level you can handle the quickest. If you can do Asagi 4 stars in 20 min and Asagi 3 stars in 3min, take the latter. Keep in mind that captured units cap at 128, so you need to extract them every 2/3 runs (Metalia really help here, she can capture up to 99 units in one take with her overload, and she have an evillity that half the mana of captured unit). -No idea. I read people talking about 1 kb per floor, so around 400 to 500 floors. Keep in mind that you sometime need to lift the cat in mystery room so he dont kill your team. Also avoid Bank room if you can, the slut invoke max stats ennemy and without a trap it's really hard.

-I have 3, a sage, metlia and Usalia. Planning to get Petta/Zetta/Pleinair/Adell when I can. But you only need one for all this farming stuff.

-The stat gain is negligeable compared to the Trap, so it's more cosmetic than anything else really. I read that you can get maxed stats with a set of 3 perfect traps. Just look at the base stats, do you really think they change your dmg when you have 20mil base stats and a weapon giving you 70 000 ? Even with only 13mil base stat atm on my strongest char, I dont see any difference.

If you just want a replacement for BO3, one of the shooters is probably best. I don't think either has a campaign, not that it matters if you only want multiplayer.

Considering ESO is probably my most played game on PS4, that's what I'd personally pick. It's definitely not a shooter though. Even though it's only online, it has a campaign, and you'll probably be doing at least some solo stuff to level up for some group content (exploration and questing are really good for XP).

Great for most things. Pretty much everything besides the main story I've done co-op, though with more durable builds I'm sure you can solo most things.

I've heard complaints about the in-game group-finding tool (which is a little more necessary on console since there isn't a text chat, at least not yet) but the few times I've used it to play a specific dungeon it's worked fine.

When you create a character, you pick one of three alliances to play in, and I'd like to see some more co-op options between alliances in the future (currently Cyrodiil is the only place all three can meet up). You can of course have other characters, but it's more work. That's probably the one issue I have with co-op, because it makes co-op with people you meet outside the game more difficult.

No, the city in GR2 is entirely new, as far as we've seen anyway. I don't know how much of the map it refers to but one of the new location names is "Banga Village".

For me the appeal of the first game is the freedom of movement, the setting and the music.

A lot of my favourite games that are open world tend to be my favourite because they offer an interesting or unique method of player movement - Infamous 2/Second Son, Just Cause 2 and Gravity Rush would be obvious examples. Gravity Rush is kind of that concept taken to the logical extreme where you have full control over your position in three dimensions, as well as how you treat those dimensions (ie you can stand on walls by making gravity face that way) which I absolutely love. That kind of thing was what I always wanted to see in a game as a kid.

The setting is also really fucking neat. The fantastical mood coupled with the colour use is comfy as fuck and the sort of light sci-fi aspects like the implications of gravity effect on different levels of the pillar is pretty interesting for me.

And the music is by Kohei Tanaka, who has done a whole bunch of stuff but I'd say the Gravity Rush OST is closest to his work on Gunbuster and Diebuster which is also fantastic:
