Alright, I'm 30 hours in, just killed the Courser, and I think I've about done it.

This is getting really fucking boring. Every single mission is going to decrepit building/lightly forested area, killing ghouls/raiders/green raiders/robot raiders, and possibly grabbing something/someone. The 10mm I got at the beginning has yet to become ineffective because of the mod system, and every other weapon is almost guaranteed to be a piece of shit because the 10mm has far greater ammo supply and much more flexibility than anything else. I'm unstoppable since I have an absurd amount of chems, food, and stimpaks, not to mention an asseload of Cores so that if something is actually dangerous I can bring Power Armor in and kill everything with my bare hands. The only vaguely interesting areas are completely barren of meaningful content (Glowing Sea, looking at you). Heavy Weapons are completely useless and the fucked hitboxes mean that grenades or molotovs are more likely to bounce back at you than to go where you want them to. Armor is pretty fucking worthless to the point that I can tank hard while exclusively wearing the Silver Shroud outfit and having an Endurance of 7.

There's no replay value, since every mission only has at most two possible outcomes. The base building is pointless since there's no reason to do anything besides mass mutfruit farms and an armada of sleeping bags, and you gain nothing from it that couldn't just be dealt with easier by going to Diamond City.

I can't find ANY reason to keep playing.

Also I made a .38 Pipe rifle as you guys suggested to make use of the ammo, and it only ended up with 20 damage. It fires really quickly and has great recoil though, I guess it's okay for general purposes. I wish it had the normal reflex sight instead of the shitty one with the screws

It's just how the difficulty scaling in every Beth game works.

My favorite part about Skyrim was the fact that if an attack would dealth enough damage to kill you from your current HP BEFORE YOUR DAMAGE RESISTANCE IS ACCOUNTED FOR, it would trigger a kill move and you would die instantly.

Low HP high armor builds just don't work in a game like Skyrim because an enemy only needs to deal enough damage to surpass your current HP before they just straight up ignore all your armor.

Not that anon, but I gave Piper a silenced, pimped out 10mm and she can use it infinitely with no 10mm ammo in her inventory. I think she uses a normal 10mm as her normal weapon.

I found this out when I was having her mule a ton of weapons for me, and I let her use an automatic burning laser rifle. After she depleted her ammo on the laser rifle she started using the silenced 10mm without any ammo in her inventory for it.

Just through random NPC chatter and stuff, you basically get the impression that the surface is completely alien to all of the people at the institute.

Has anyone figured out a way to fix the fps drops? Uncapping the fps with the config tool works but then the physics engine freaks out. I tried going into Nvidia control panel and forcing Vsync for fallout4.exe, but it didn't do anything and I was still getting like 200 fps

Not that I know of - it's the same reason that with difficulty mods and stuff that actually makes armor more protective makes you realize how much damage bows can do early game.

Adding some base HP into your build is mandatory to stop yourself getting one-shot by shit, there's mods that disable kill moves but that doesn't stop you getting killed from 3/4 health by an arrow because the game calculates like this:

DAMAGE > CURRENT HP?

YES - Die instantly
NO - Apply damage reduction (which could be the bulk of your suitability if you're running a low hp high armor build)

I quicksaved before deciding who to kill and noticed they had identical dialogue/behavior after the event but only one had the component, so I was a little scared
