I have the ARK 2 enabled through Final Fantasy War of the Lions (email hack on 3.52). I've recently tried to put the translated Final Fantasy Type-0 merged ISO to work and it crashed.

Is it a problem of the ARK, the base game or it simply isn't available to play on Vita?

Should I check TN-V or wait for ARK-3 for it to make it work?

FFT0 ISO is larger than legitimately possible, so it needs a workaround in UMD emulating driver, you must use Inferno. Besides, it's hacked beyond recognizance, so it's just finicky in general. At least the 1st version of ISO published on sky's blog that was taken down by Sqeenix later. I know for a fact that it works on 3.18 with TN-V10 if you have a base game that works with it. To make matters worse, not every version of the base game works (IIRC, UNO US is OK while UNO EU is not).

I have a new3DS on 9.0 wich I exploited to load boot.3dsx on power on and now I can open rxTools with that.
But I still have to dump my emunand wich can only be done by GateWay Loader, can't I open the Launcher.dat from some homebrew app?

I seem to have a very specific problem that seems to have started after installing themehax.
I'm on an o3DS XL. When I hit home in MH4U, the game just holds up and nothing happens. It's not a freeze, since hitting power brings up the power off/go to home menu screen.

This is what I get for updating my 3ds when it was on 9.2 for months a few months ago.

I'm sorry to have to ask, but I can either not figure it out accurately from the provided resources or just want to be sure before I get started.

You can do this

Emunand is an emulation of the firmware. So you can have sysnand 9.2 inside your 3DS and then emunand 10.3 on your SD card, and you run CFW with your emunand.
N3DS only supports up to 9.5 but O3DS supports any emunand.

Playing online, too, yes. If you've got a Gateway/Sky3DS and want to use .3ds ROMs, you'll need to swap the so-called private header to play online.

emuNAND emulates a NAND (i.e., the "hard disk" of the 3DS so to speak). For that purpose, a copy of the core firmware is loaded into memory and patched.
The 9.5 issue on N3DS is because on the N3DS, the 9.6 core firmware uses key information from a memory region that is inaccessible after the initial boot; it gets locked by the bootrom.
The 10.2 issue is a non-issue. O3DS and update emuNAND to the latest 10.3. The OP was written in a sloppy manner.

Ok, so I just insalled shevel knights .cia and for some reason I didn't get an icon in my home menu.
When I boot I get a glimpse of where the icon should appear but when all the icons load the square where shovel knight should be just goes blank.

I can boot the game no problem from Big Blue but I can't exit to home menu without crashing my system.

On a DS Lite you can access the cartridge slot and do whatever with it, there's no security as long as you're running code. So if you know what the correct interface is, you can modify 3DS saves on a DS.

The DSi has a bit of extra security which means once a cartridge is ejected then the port can't be used again without a reboot. And if you never were using the port in this piece of software, then it can't be used.
The 3DS has the same functionality when playing DS(i) software.

I'm not sure if it's possible or not to dump DS saves in 3DS mode. Wasn't there a piece of software for transferring Pokemon from Gen 5 to Gen 6?

From 9.9 to now the browser had received an update that could not have been properly assessed since Nintendo kept the rest of their hand. After revealing it, without additional user intervention (CFW) the browser was rendered useless on those versions until updated proper.

The point is examining the updates is not good enough to determine just how safe they are. However, since this seems to be a recent trend I think it'll be more obvious when Nintendo touches anything dealing with networking.

People pushing to update now are doing so (presumed connotation) simply to do it now "because you can" instead of later when you actually NEED to.

Sure, in an example scenario a user may eventually want to play newer games (above) or whatever other barriers may be but those can be addressed as they come as an alternative to preemptively.

I have two 7-zipped NANDs, my dumped sysnand and my emunand. 1GB uncompressed, they compress to at least half of that. However my results were rigged as I had a few things installed on my sysnand and it's not worth dumping again.

Basically you can get a decent compression ratio out of them, probably around 35-40% on a very clean dump.
