yes, specialized rune pages give you a minor advantage over generic rune pages. but you aren't gonna need them. and when you do need them you'll know. (since you don't know right now, you REALLY don't need them)

for newer/lower level players, all you really need rune pages to do is to help you last hit and survive early game (champ harass or jungle monsters), and the generic pages are fine for that

Hey guys, former bronze 5 player, here to help anyone stuck in bronze learn more from playing against bots. So, if you were like me a couple months back, you noticed something about your teammates:

>your teammates never ward (just like bots)
>your teammates feed their lane (just like bots)
>your teammates cs count is low (just like bots)
>your team doesn't know when laning phase is over (just like bots)
>your team never groups for dragon or baron (just like bots)
>your team might have a weird build (just like bots)
>your team overstays in lane (just like bots)
>your team has no focus (just like bots)
>your team doesn't follow up with your initiation (just like bots)

So, what really helped me was playing on an all beginner bot team including myself vs. an all intermediate bot team. I wanted to improve as jungler so this really helped me push lanes, back when appropriate, what targets to best engage, etc. This teaches you how to snowball when you get a lead, and how to close out a game. I have everything tagged by the champion (if multiple it's named to the champ I fapped in that particular image), ordered by growing number with side grades for image series like Ahri_10.1, Ahri_10.2 Ahri_11, and then side folders for bigger collections from artist and the likes.

The way it works is this since we're all giving answers but being incredibly vague:

Everyone's mmr resets to a flat amount, say 1200.
By default, every win you get is worth 50, and every loss is worth 50. After your 10 placements, whatever your mmr is determines your placement rank.

Now, if you placed higher than default rank by the end of preseason, the amount of mmr you gain will be greater, and the amount you lose will be less. Basically it's weighted toward whatever your mmr was at the end of preseason. That is how it is determined.
